I recently got a used 3060 Phoenix, works flawlessly except for how the fan runs very loud - it seems like 100% - all the time. However, no software is recognising the fan (all say 0 rpm) -- This problem occurs after startup, --The fan works regularly (not like a jet engine) in motherboard BIOS, Safe mode, and after uninstalling the graphics card drivers. -- the moment any Nvidia graphics drivers are installed the fan instantly goes to jet mode -- when none are on the system it works fine. -- no software can change the fan rpm from 0 ( when fan speed is changed from 30% nothing happens) -- GPU is chilled at 23-27 degrees at idle -- I deshrouded and reapplied thermal paste and disconnected and connected the fan from GPU - the problem still happens Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey all, Today I built a brand new system for a family member. System has an MSi RX 6750 XT. All went well, installed Windows 10 Pro but at the moment we don’t have an Ethernet cable so installed Windows offline. Motherboard has WiFi so downloaded the Chipset, Audio, LAN, WiFi drivers onto a USB stick and installed. As soon as the WiFi driver is installed, we can jump on to his WiFi, and an ‘MSi Center’ pop up comes up asking to download the latest driver. If you click ‘No’, screen goes black instantly, but doesn’t go into standby, just stays on but black. If you click ‘Install’, installation gets through to 99%, then screen goes black as before. Upon restart, Mobo splash screen comes up but as soon as you’d expect windows to be booting, screen is black again. We’ve done a number of system restores and reinstalls of windows. Including keeping the MSi window ‘unresolved’ in the background and installing AMD Adrenalin. AMD Adrenalin installs up to 99%, a bit of the usual ‘flickering’ occurs, then the screen goes black as before. Apart from sending the 6750 XT back and going Nvidia I’m not sure what else I can do? Thanks in Advance! Rhys

So this started while I was playing valorant and the screen just went blank but I could here the audio . I tried to reboot but nothing happened. Since I had to go to college computer was left idle for 2 months and then when I started it after some time it started and then while doing windows and driver updates it crashed again. I followed various fourms and videos on how to fix the driver crashing, getting disabled I even used DDU and the installed drivers only and using msi after burner it worked for 10min so I started city skylines 2 I was playing on medium with 48fps and after 10 min it crashed again . For some reason I can't rollback drivers cause I only have the latest one and win11 isn't letting me use older versions of drivers . Yes I have disabled auto updated drivers from ddu and windows so that's not the problem. Spec Ryzen 5 3500 Gigabyte rx 570 8gb 16 ram DDR4 2100 mhz Gigabyte b450m S2H v1 motherboard My bios isn't updated since 2019 cause my bios isn't detecting usb stick which has bios updated Pls help

None of my drivers work on a new installation of windows 11
jmr_74 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I just installed windows 11 on a new pc build but none of my drivers are showing up as working, not even letting me connect to internet through wifi. Is this a result of incompatibility of windows 11 with my motherboard(asus prime z790-p) ?, and what should I do to fix the issue? -
Hello anyone who may read this. I have been having a rough time lately with the last several driver versions. I am at the end of my wits trying to come to a solution that will allow me to just enjoy my card. Here are my specs: 5800x3d x570 aorus pro wifi(newest bios 37f) 64gb 16x4 corsair 3600 cl18 sapphire nitro+ 7900xtx monitor 1 MSI MAG274QRF-QD monitor 1440 165hz monitor 2 asus vg278 144hz monitor but I have it set at 60 because idle power problems I have tried reverting driver versions, ddu, fresh windows, uninstalling steam reinstalling, mpo, downclocking, undervolting, only using one kit of ram, disabling freesync turning off changing cables, reseating, running RAM checks, and probably some others that I have forgotten by now. The issue seems entirely driver related. I have no remotely dangerous temps. My cpu never gets above 75 gpu hotspot never gets above 75 main temp never above 65. I have no trouble with most games that I play (rocket league, Destiny 2, valorant, LoL, Overwatch, Forza horizon5) but the games that I want to play at the moment are BG3, CS2, and Jedi survivor. I have had completely nondeterministic crashes with all of these. Ranging from watchdog error to dx11 fatal error with many apphang errors as well. I have tried everything I can think of or find in cryptic posts to no improvement. I am mainly trying to play BG3 lately and have been having crashes very consistently. I have tried vulkan but it runs very poorly and still crashes. dx11 runs perfectly until it hangs. I in no way want to flame AMD for the drivers but I find it hard to remain tempered when my 1000$ gpu is causing me this many issues. If anyone has any other things to try or tips I would be more than happy to try them. If not, I will continue waiting for new drivers to hopefully patch these problems. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hello, recently I bought a second hand RTX 3060 TI (GV-N306TGAMING OC PRO-8GD rev.3.0 is on the back of the card) The problem is that it goes black screen after bios boot. I think it's a driver issue because I just switched to my old card (GTX 1060) with the old drivers and the same thing happened. (I connected my monitor to the motherboard, uninstalled the driver and now everything is ok with the 1060) Could it be that I am using the wrong driver for the 3060? When there is no driver installed or I boot in windows safe mode there is no black screen and I can do everything normally. The moment I start installing drivers it goes black screen and restarts in a couple of seconds. Then it goes in an endless loop of restarting every 10-15 seconds. I tried installing them through GeForce Experience and through the Nvidia website by filtering the card (537.42-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-). I've also noticed that the fans don't spin and the card gets really hot while doing basically nothing (The fans of my 1060 don't spin either under no stress but at least its not super hot. I'd say normal temp.) I'm open to any ideas/tricks I could try.

Hey guys, I recently acquired a WiiU gamepad. And I can't help but want to some how get it working on my SteamDeck box (holoISO). I saw this article https://www.phoronix.com/news/Wii-U-Gamepad-Driver-v4 I have tried to find more on the driver but most of what I can find looks like matrix code. If anyone could point me in the right direction to some resources that are novice friendly I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue with their AirPods when connecting to a Windows PC? I've been facing a frustrating problem where my AirPods connect, but the Bluetooth audio quality is far from perfect. Initially, it sounds fine, but after a short while, it starts crackling and sounding terrible. I've been searching for a solution everywhere, trying various tutorials, but nothing seems to work. The sound is kind of a crackling or static noise, it looks like the driver is not doing its job. It's particularly puzzling because my PC's Bluetooth works flawlessly with all other devices, and my AirPods work perfectly when connected to my phone, even when I'm quite far away from it. So, logically, it seems like there's some specific configuration issue or setting causing this problem. I'm really eager to get this sorted out, so if there's any Bluetooth expert out there who can help me fix this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. Your guidance and expertise would be invaluable in resolving this frustrating problem. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

I want to build a PC which will run Windows 7/8.1 without issues, with stable 60FPS performance on most games from 2014 or earlier on high graphics settings. Could anyone recommend components which are compatible with each other, have good performance, and have Windows 7/8.1 driver support? Windows XP support is preferred but not necessary.

Hello LTT peeps! I've been trying to post on here for while. I've been explaining my laptop issues here and there on the forum but nothing that directly addresses my issues. Also, been trying not to seem like the nagging and naive pest. So I'll try and be as detailed as I can here. So here I go! I wanted to get some hardware upgrades done for my laptop. Specifically, New keyboard, SSD upgrade and of course Ram. I got into contact with this dude who told me he owns a pc build and repair shop. When I reached out to him via email, he mentioned that he's spent years as a Computer technician specializing in hardware or something like that. Anyways... Eventually we agreed on a price for said upgrades and I then dropped off the laptop the next day at his house(He told me his shop is being renovated) After about a week, I enquired whether or not he's done with the upgrades. I was told that unfortunately he didn't have stock and was waiting for the parts to be delivered even though he did at first say all parts needed are in stock. I was not to phased and let 2 weeks go by and I then enquired once more and was told the courier delivered the wrong parts. I eventually got the laptop back after 2 months I think. (I'll have to double check but im sure it's not important) I did get the authorities and a lawyer involved to get my laptop back. Now, here's the list of problems I've had since getting it back: 1. Non of the upgrades were done. In fact, my laptop came back without one hard drive as well as broken key caps on my keyboard. Oh and a cheap, knock- off power brick that wasn't nearly enough to charge the laptop when switched on. 2. Both my steam and epic games accounts were compromised. 3. I found a bunch of suspiciously installed drivers and services that were both installed and running from device manager and task manager. 4. After eventually getting it back, it started to do strange boot loops would green screen crash with error codes such as: Memory integrity error, memory allocation errors and one or two other codes I can't remember right now. Now Call me paranoid but I'm very sure he never planned on returning the laptop and was using it as his own. Furthermore, It was confirmed by him to the authorities that he lied about being a technician. Oh, he also own a shop/store. My theory to the above mentioned issues is this: The Various Types of unknown Drivers and services that were installed/enabled are the problem. I'd like to ask you all for your suggestions so I can figure out how I can attempt a self repair here. I'm very much able to provide information such as what services were enable to the drivers that were installed. As well as the various types of apps, programs and software that I can guarantee wasn't installed before sending it to this dude. Hopefully, I posted this in the right place.. Anyways! Y Sorry for the long post guys, wish I could attach a potato for the long post. Best wishes. Mikey

Hi guys Wondering if I could get some advice, I'm building a new pc and hoping to get a 6700xt or 6750xt depending on deals etc. But Im also transferring my SSD from my current computer which also acts as my boot drive, the only thing is my old pc had a Nvidia 760 in and such has Nvidia drivers on the SSD, if I do the transfer will there be issues with this config or would the Nvidia drivers just be dormant. I'll be keeping my old pc intact until I need the SSD for the new build so if need be I can do stuff to the drive before I take it out. Also my new build has a amd 7700x CPU with inbuilt "graphics" so again don't know if that effects any of it at all. Thanks for reading

Blender not detecting my amd gpu on linux
Vortex1x1x1x posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
I am running the newest version of pop_os! and blender 3.6.1 i have a AMD Radeon RX 7600 (which should be compatible with HIP in blender). When i go to preference to enable gpu render it says "no compatible gpu for cycles". How do i get my gpu to work with blender? -
So I am currently upgrading my pc and changing out a lot of components and Im considering upgrading my motherboard (it’s the only thing that’s still from my old system). I have a few questions about the process of changing motherboards. I am changing cases and cooling system so I’m not directly swapping my motherboard out, rather installing it into my new system (basically a fresh build.) I’m going from a ASROCK b450m pro4-f to a MSI b550 tomohawk max. Do I have to do anything special when booting up after assembling the pc? As in deleting old bios (idk how to do that), updating the bios, or doing anything else involving ram drivers or software? Or anything not mentioned.

I updated my nvidia drivers (last version was from 2020). Now I tried to play games and after ~10 minutes of playing, my pc shut off suddenly. It keeps happening so it wasn't a one time thing. How do I fix this.

I've seen this error happen to a few others so thought I'd see if anyone has solved this type of issue. I recently built a PC a few days ago, with an i9-13900k and a 4090. The motherboard is the GIGABYTE Z790 UD and my PSU is the InWinClassic Basic Series CB-1250W 80+ Platinum Modular Power Supply, 1250W. This error just started happening where all my USB devices that are connected will simultaneously turn off, then restart after a few seconds (1-3 seconds max, but my headset and mouse/keyboard all turnoff.) I have a razer keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, and logitech headset, and webcam plugged in. I had a 2080 with a i9-9900k before this with all the same devices that I used and this issue never happened once till I built my new pc just a few days ago. I've tried uninstalling all the USB devices, updating the BIOS, redownloading new drivers, disabling the selective suspend settings, turning off "allow the computer to turn off this device" in device manager. Is there anything else I can try? This is rather annoying, as I'm scared to play games since it randomly occurs at different moments. I'm on windows 11 too. tldr; All USB connected devices seem to turn off and after a few seconds turn back on together Thanks

Hello, I have a Toshiba Tecra (A50-A-139, PART NO. PT644E-00K004S4, SERIAL NO. ZD052803H) laptop and I can't find any drivers for it. Windows 10 seems to have installed almost all drivers except 2 drivers. The laptop is from Europe. While searching for drivers what I found out was that Toshiba doesn't make laptops anymore and drivers for other Toshiba laptops are on dynabook (the site just doesn't have for my laptop). Any help is appreciated :).

Laptop driver support is often not as up to date as that you can get from the hardware manufacturer. I've always kinda known this and ignored it to a degree, but today while working on a family laptop Intel driver assistant made me explicitly ignore this issue. I can no longer see the text as I clicked through it, but it said something like "drivers from your device manufacturer may be tailored to your specific device. If they have up to date drivers you should get it from them. Ignore anyway and download the update." What is the deal here? Three first hand experiences-- 1. elaborating the above. My family wanted to use handbrake to transcode a video and it was crashing very early in the process. looking at the ffmpeg log it seemed to be an intel qsv driver issue. I checked for driver updates from Asus and they did not even have a graphics driver listed. So I went to Intel and the story above (clicked through warning and installed newest driver from Intel). The up to date Iris Xe drivers were installed and handbrake worked. 2. Due to laziness I haven't contacted Lenovo support, but my laptop would frequently hard crash unless I used windows power management to set the power to 99%. Only changing it to 100% when needed. Until I ran into a driver issue and directly installed AMD Adrenalin + drivers. Windows still blocks full use of that, but the AMD cpu/igpu drivers virtually removed the problem to where I no longer need use windows power control. 3. Same Lenovo laptop-after I first purchased it had a bunch of problems that needed to be RMA'd and part of the Lenovo customer support was to have me downgrade to their year old nvidia drivers. So, I did a few searches in this forum for discussions on laptop vs manufacturer drivers, but could not find any. Yet if this is a big enough or common enough issue it could even (and happily be) a video idea. What has been people's experience? What is the best practice? What do repair centers do?

I own a set of Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones. For years I just used them with the standard Windows drivers, and they sounded OK. Very recently I discovered some unofficial LDAC drivers for £5, and they are fantastic for me on Windows 10. They are called Alternative A2DP Driver For the best bitrate (990 kbps / 96 kHz) I recommend your Bluetooth antenna has line-of-sight to your headphones. They can auto adjust the rate on the fly, or you can have it fixed. My antenna is just tucked behind my monitor and works well. Bugs. About once a week, the sound goes garbled. I have to power the headphones off and on again then it's fine for another week. You can trial the drivers before you buy. Hope it helps some folk.

I have been struggling with this for a while now, and I'm seriously at my wits end here. I tried everything out there, there's plenty of posts, but I just can't figure it out. Here's what happens: I got a 6900xt, using Windows 11 pro. I'm using my PC and then I get no video, but the PC is up and running. So I have to restart it manually. When booting again, there's 2 things that can happen: 1- it boots, then when I open adrenaline software it says: "windows update may have automatically replaced your amd graphics driver" After this I have to uninstall the drivers and reinstall. 2- I'll get GPU light on the motherboard, and I'll need to clear cmos by removing the battery and then I can boot. After this, perform the second part of 1. This happens randomly, sometimes twice a day, sometimes I'll go a few days without. Several things were suggested in other forums, I have tried pretty much everything I think. Stuff like: Stopping windows updates. Creating rules so it does not update certain drivers. Group policies. Tried several different AMD adrenaline drivers. Used ddu in safe mode to uninstall the drivers as well. I really don't know what else to do.

i want to run Stable Diffusion on my pc and i saw that if i dont have Nvidia or Intel GPU i need a replacement for the cuda cores. some places asked me to use a special version of driver 22.11.1 but i found this driver which is 23.1.2 that is a normal release and not forked. i was wondering if all subsequent releases have this feature (i currently have 23.4.3) or do i have to downgrade my driver?
-
Hi y'all I know you can stop Windows Update from updating drivers through Group Policy, works best I think, but there are other ways also. But is there a way to stop Windows Update from updating the GPU drivers? So all other drivers are okay, just not and never the GPU drivers. I'm using Windows 11 Pro Thanks in advance
