Hi, I'm in the middle of making a new gaming build. It will have a FX-6300 which I plan to overclock. I have researched and nearly everybody points to the Hyper 212 Evo. I looked into it but found out that it doesn't fit my case (CiT Neptune). Does anybody have a good alternative that would adequately overclock the 6300? (I would prefer if the cooler was fairly quiet but not necessary) Thanks,

Hey guys! I know the CM Hyper series of coolers are highly regarded as some of the best budget coolers out their, however I cannot really find a lot of experienced user reviews of the pure rock cpu cooler. I am running an i5 3690k on an Asus z97-a mobo in a NZXT H440 so my cpu seems to run a few degrees higher than normal at all times, i knew this before getting into the h440 but i love the case so much i accepted its cooling flaws. I want to keep the quiet theme going. So my questions are will both of these coolers be quieter and cooler than the stock intel cooler and do any of you have experience with the pure rock cooler as I would prefer to get that one over the hyper 212x to keep the quiet theme going in my pc. This is also my first time ever upgrading my cpu cooler so was wondering if their is any quality issues with buying a "budget" cooler that would hurt my cpu in anyway? Prices are $45 for the Pure Rock and $49 for the Hyper 212x. (Aus) Also any other recommendation for coolers around the same price range is very welcome I am a noob at this lol. Thanks in advance guys!

Hey all! I'm building myself a new gaming rig, and picked myself up a NZXT Kraken x61 to go along with my NZXT Phantom 530. I plan to put the rad on the top of the case, but I'm still debating on how I want to set the fans up. I was planning on having it set up as intake, so it will push air through the rad into the computer, along with my fans being set up as intake in the front and bottom of the case, with the only exhaust fan being in the back, and the power supply blowing its heat out the bottom (on a wood floor). Anyways, what do you guys think? Would love to hear some peoples opinions on this.

Greetings! My future build Fractal Design R5 Asus Z97-a i5-4690k Radeon 280x Kingston Hyper X Fury 8 GB (x2 4GB) Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 OR Corsair H80i 1 Noctua Fan (for rear exhaust) SeaSonic 500w Power Supply As stated in the build, I am undecided whether to Liquid Cool or Air Cool this build. Please leave feedback, constructive criticism & help in the comments!

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm looking into air coolers (with, of course, great aesthetics). I'm not sure if I should pick the Dark Rock 3, or the Dark Rock TF, since the TF is newer and performs great in benchmarks. What do you guys suggest? Thanks in advance!

Hello! I am seeking advice for picking out equipment for a better cooling system for my PC. At its current state, my fans sound like the equivalent of a jet engine like it's going to take off and fly out my window. The only cooling fans running on the system at any given time is for the power supply, processor, and graphics processor. The motherboard unfortunately cannot control the power supply's fan, nor does the power supply seem to throttle down it's own fan by sensing the temperature. I am to believe that the fan on it is constantly at full speed. Is it possible to control the power supply's fan in any way? The processor's fan thankfully, can be monitored and controlled manually by the motherboard. Although I do hear audible noise from the processor's fan. The graphics processor's fan is automatically controlled and already has an acceptable audible noise. Processor fans that are suggested must be compatible with the AM3+ Socket, and if it is true that controlling the power supply's fan is not possible, suggestions for a new power supply cannot exceed 500 watts. Any advice will be greatly thanked!

Hello everyone, I am building my first computer and I would like to ask for your help to choose the proper CPU cooler and thermal paste. 1) CPU Cooler: a) Noctua NH-D14 cost 75 Euro ) Noctua NH-U12S (single fan) cost 60 Euro c) Cool Master Hyper 212 Evo cost 35 Euro d) Arctic Freezer Xtreme Rev.2 cost 35 Euro e) Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 Pro cost 40 Euro My system has i7-4790, Gigabyte Z78X-OC Force, Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 CL9, 2TB Seagate Hybrid HDD, and Asus Geforce GTX 760 2GB DirectCU II-OC. The PC is just for Full-HD gaming; no 4K or Overclocking. Which one is best cooler taking into account performance and price factors. (My budget is limited !!!). For example, I have read that NH-D14 is the best one in my list, but I also do not want to pay double the price for just only 1-2°C lower CPU temperature. Which one fit best to my case Corsair Carbide 300R Case? 2) Thermal Paste: a) Gelid GC-Extreme ) Noctua NT-H1 c) Arctic Mx-4 All of them cost relatively the same, but as I have understood the Gelid thermal paste need special considerations when applied to CPU (e.g. warm up; spread over the whole CPU surface, etc…), which I am afraid I may do not have the skill for it. Can you help me here also to choose the best thermal paste. Do I need to consider certain things before I can apply the thermal paste or what? Is the "P" or "Line" method to apply these thermal paste is enough. Thanks a lot

I was totally expecting to be inundated with reviews of the new 280mm closed loop cooler by Corsair weeks ago, but I haven't heard anything since the product was announced. Does anyone know what gives? I'm really interested in the product, but refuse to by before I watch at least 20 YouTube reviews. Also I've been hearing more and more complaints about the Fractal Design Define R5 not being nearly as water cooling friendly as they had first stated. Does anyone know how well a 280mm rad and fans will fit at the top of the case? I am pretty much limited to that spot only.

Let me start off by saying this is my first time on this site so if I do something wrong just tell me. Now onto the actual problem. I was getting frustrated by the stock cooler on my Athlon X4 760K as it was stupid loud and hot as well (I play a lot of games BTW), so I decided to do some research and find a good cooler that was quiet and could fit in my case, (Fractal Design Core 1000) and found the Noctua NH-L9a low profile cooler. I did research on this cooler and many people were using it to cool the same processor so I thought it would be fine, but later I looked and found that the cooler is recommended for 55W CPU's and the X4 760K is a 100W CPU so I wasn't sure but I got it anyway along with a new side panel fan for the case. I installed it and it worked, for about 10 seconds until it started smoking from the back of the CPU area of the motherboard, it refused to turn off and after I unplugged it, it wouldn't work after that. So a few months and many questions later I'm here, after figuring out it was the motherboard that was broken I took it out for RMA and got a new one (a cheaper one but very similar), and my computer works again (:YAY:), however the problem still remains with the stock cooler being extremely loud and hot so I'm not sure if I should try to install the cooler again or if that's not possible just get a new fan to put on the stock cooler (if that's even possible). Thank you.

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! A stupid question: I'm getting a motherboard with software to control the CPU cooler's cooling. Does this cooler need to be PWM? Thanks in advance!

I am about to buy the NZXT CA-S340W. The case looks cool and it is around $70. What I am wanting to know is will the Noctua NH-D15 SSO2 will fit in the case. I am assuming that it will but I am not sure. The case measurements are, 17.51" x 7.87" x 17.00" (H x W x D) The Cpu fan measurements are, 6.30” x 5.90” x 5.30” ( Without Fan ) (H x W x D) 6.30” x 5.90” x 6.33” ( With Fan) (H x W x D) If you are interested, here are the link's to both items. Noctua: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608045 NZXT: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146190 Thanks for the help!

Hi I'm new to this forum but I have been watching Linus for years now. I built my machine a few months ago. I have a Pentium g3258 at stock and thinking of overclocking. But I need help. Should I get a custom Water cooler or keep the hyper 212x I have or get a Corsair h55... I really don't know I have heard closed water coolers are notoriously known for leaks. Is this true. Should I invest in this...... Please help Thankyou

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm looking for a quiet, but of course good, cpu cooling. It can be liquid or heatsink, but if heatsink preferably not a giant 20 cm thing, just a low profile one :-) Any good suggestions? Thanks in advance!

My water-cooled 4790k (running on the EVGA stock block that comes with the hadron hydro wck) is getting a bit temperature difference between cores when I'm running a prime95 Small FFTs torture test. I've re-seated my cooler once already (a bit of a hassle, but I had to send the board to ASUS anyways) and the disparity is still on the same #4 and #1 cores (cool and hot, respectively). I've seen a ~5c difference in other systems but my cap here was ~15C. Edit: I'm using IC diamond thermal paste and have never botched a pasting job before - when I pulled the block off the first time, it was a good spread.

So I have a tube of Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound that I probably bought about 3.5 years ago and I'm just now building myself a new rig. Can I trust that it's still usable or is there anything I should know?

I've been preparing a new build for awhile now, and I was going with a black and white color scheme. I saw that the Cryorig R1 Universal outperforms the D15 and the Dark Rock Pro 3 and was cheaper than both. (or at least more so than the d15, if easier to install than the Pro 3). I thought that this was the perfect air cooling solution for me, as I am a weenie and am afraid of water cooling (this'll be shipped with me when I go to college and I don't want it to leak everywhere). However, when I went on to newegg recently, it says they're out of stock and not expecting to have them back. What gives? Is there anywhere I can buy this? (Besides Ebay for $200) If not, what are some good alternatives? Thanks so much (this is my first post).

So here's the thing. I've bought Corsair Graphite 230T case, and the case by itself is amazing, honestly. As far as I can read on the box, and the website even the maximum CPU cooler is 165mm. The thing is, at first I chose Cooler Master 212 EVO cooler - which fits perfectly in the case, but then I saw Deepcool Lucifer and I was trully amazed, so I decide to get it instead of the 212 EVO. However, I've made some researches, I read some reviews and what I saw was that, the dimensions of the Lucifer cooler are 165mm WITHOUT a fan, which is the max for my case, then I saw that the dimensions WITH a fan are 3mm more. So what I am asking is - will I fit the Lucifer in my case or not. Is there anyway that I can make him fit WITHOUT making holes, or cut the case, whatsoever. The other thing is, can't I just move the fan little bit down on the cooler so I can fit it in? P.S.Please, only people have an idea, or have done something similar to say wether I can fit it or not. I really want to know as quick as possible. We all know that we can read, and from what we've read, we see that we can't, theoretically... P.S2. (I am not being rude, it's just something that's important to me, so I have to be sure.)

Hello, and thanks or reading this already! I was planning on getting the Cryorig R1 Universal (because he has compatibility with High-Profile Ram). Yet, my build is meant for silence. I'm trying to make sure that my rig can stay under 20db(a) and the fans of the Cryorig can't go under 20/21db(a). Now, is it possible to replace the fans with others? (For example the Be Quiet! Silent wings etc.). Thanks in advance!

Despite what you may have assumed based on the title of this topic, I have not found the BEST AIO LIQUID CPU COOLER!! But rather have come here to ask you guys if you knew what that would be for my needs. I have a little extra money to throw around right now so I decided to upgrade my CPU cooling solution from stock cooling to top of the line liquid cooling. My case is a Deepcool Tesseract SW, so I can only fit a dual 120mm rad. My CPU is an AMD FX-6300, and I'm planning on upgrading to an 8350 soon. My mother board is and ASRock 970 Extreme 3 R2.0, just in case you needed that information... Anyway as far as purposes goes, I plan on using my rig to play games and record some gaming videos with a webcam, video editing and rendering, etc. So generally some pretty CPU intensive stuff, so I'm looking to overclock a little. So, price aside, which AIO liquid CPU cooler (that fits my rig situation of course) is the BEST!?!? Thanks in advance!

Hello y'all. Here's what I'm wondering. 1. What are the performance differences between these two coolers? 2. What is the noise difference between the two? 3. Any other useful info is great. The cooler will end up going on a 4790k and either one will fit in my case. I won't usually be moving it, but I might on occasion take it to a LAN party. Thanks in advance!
