Hey guys, I'm using a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite mobo and I'm wondering if the Scythe Big Shuriken 3 is able to fit well in my set up. I'm running on an inverted case as you can see in the pic. So my concern is actually the large heatsink and my RAM that I circled. Will the Scythe Big Shuriken 3 be able to fit onto my mobo with no problem?

So i was wondering, what would happen if an AIO CPU cooler leaked in a system. I've always thought that the company that makes the AIO would be responsible as the user dint put the loop together them self. So would the company be responsible for replacing your PC parts that got damaged?

so I have a coolermaster hyper 212 on a ryzen 7 3200x I Just ordered another 16gig of ram but I've noticed (after the fact.. stupid I know) that there won't be enough clearance with this fan where it is.. If I just put it to the other side of the cooler it will then be blowing the wrong way right? So what do I do? Order another fan... if so I may go rgb because the computer is going to sit on my desk so I kind of like the idea of it looking pretty. Can I just take the brackets off the side of the fan and put them on any 120mm fan? also... My motherboard has rgb light headers but because it's a cpu fan will the new fan have two wires? one going to the cpu fan header and one to the rgb for control or what? Haven't built a system in 10 years and advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Hi guys, so i need your opinions. I wish to build a very beautiful desktop, I chose aesthetics over performance. But when i was choosing the cpu cooler, i came across Cooler Master MA620M. In the seller's picture, it looks okay, but when i went to youtube to look for reviews, I saw that it was big, thus i need your opinions either if it makes the desktop looks better or ugly.

Hello there LTT, its been quite a while since I've been on here. I recently bought a second hand PC which has the follow parts:- i7 8700k Corsair H100i MSI Krait Gaming Z370 motherboard 16gb DDR3 Corsair 3200Mhz 500gb WD M.2 SSD 1 TB Curcial P1 M.2 SSD Aorous RX 5700 XT so basically I know that the Krait is a budget orianted board but I want to upgrade it as well as the CPU cooler for overclocking. but I really don't know where to start first, should I replace the mother board or just get a new cooler. for the motherboard I've been thinking about the GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS Ultra, and for the cooler I've been thinking about the Kraken Z63. thanks!

Does anyone know if this note holds up or if everything I need comes with the cooler? "The Noctua NH-D15S 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler may require a separately available mounting adapter to fit the Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard." Thanks in advance!

Have any of you guys encountered a CPU cooler on a prebuilt PC with no apparent way to remove it? I purchased an Asus prebuilt desktop from Best Buy in 2017. After I built a PC last summer, I put it away in a closet. Recently, I decided to use it as a HTPC for my bedroom but I had problems with the boot SSD which I replaced and got the PC working. Then I started folding and thought I could use the Asus as a second folding PC. That worked for about a day, until I started having problems with the CPU fan. It will start spinning for a few seconds, then stop, give off a dying moose sound, and then start spinning for a few seconds etc. The CPU temp shot up to just over 100C before I turned it off. As I see it, there is a possibility I need a new CPU fan/cooler. (Just to be clear that was meant as a humorist understatement). At first I thought that the 4 pieces of plastic that seem to be covering posts, were just that, plastic covering screws. They might be covers, but I can't figure out how to remove them. If they are covers they may be glued in place. Then I thought, maybe it's backwards of the way I've seen coolers be installed and the screws are under the motherboard. But that does not appear to be the case. Before I give up and try zip tying a case fan on top of the cooler, does anyone have an idea of how to remove the cooler?

I currently have an MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition cooler. I only have one stick of low profile Corsair Vengeance RAM, so I am looking to upgrade. I am thinking about getting the 2*8GB 3200mHz Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO kit. These sticks are higher profile and I am worried they might not fit. Should I just stick with the low profile kit, or will the RGB Pro fit?

Hello. im working on my first build and I’m trying to set it up on a test bench before I put in the case. I’m having trouble attaching the cpu cooler on the motherboard. I have an evga z370 ftw and a Corsair h60. I’m trying to attach the backplate but the screws just don’t line up with the holes on the motherboard. I’ve seen people say that it will work on a lga 1151 socket so I have no clue what I’m doing wrong. The screws move a little on the backplate but even that doesn’t help. help is greatly appreciated thanks!

So I still consider myself a noob in the PCMR community because I only just built my first PC in March of 2019 so I've only gotten a little over a year under my belt...but I am learning quickly and loving every minute of it. But that's besides the point. Right now I have a 9700k that is overclocked to 5.1ghz on all cores that is being cooled by a Corsair H115i Pro RGB XT (280mm AIO). Everything is great and stable and cool so awesome. Well, like I said, I have been learning alot quickly and even though my AIO is doing a fantastic job right now, I also am aware that AIO's have many more points of failure than an air cooler. So I'm looking to purchase a backup air cooler just in case the worst case scenario happens and my aio pump goes out and I'm up the stream without a paddle. So any recommendations on a good air cooler to buy that won't break the bank but also be able to step in and take the place of my aio if it fails and perform admirably. I'm thinking I don't want to spend more than $50(if that's even possible) but I may could squeeze out another 10 or 20 bucks if need be. But my goal would be that if my aio failed then I would want an air cooler that I could install immediately and still be able to run a stable OC on my 9700k at or around 4.8ish ghz. Now I could be completely out in left field thinking 4.8 on all cores with a $50ish air cooler but a wise man once told me that there are no stupid question when it's regarding the life of your CPU. So any info would be appreciated, or if I'm completely off with my logic here then please correct me and push me towards the correct approach here. But I do know for sure that I want a backup cooling option...because from what I've read and watched, I would think that should be a priority for most people.

Here's a video about my problem, As you can see that specific screw is loose and I can't remove it, my only guess is that I used the wrong standoff, does anyone have any idea how can I get it out without destroying the motherboard?

As it says in the title the bottom fan of my dark rock tf doesn’t spin. I was wondering why this may be I just installed it. PC SPECS - i5-8400 (soon to be i7-9700k) - EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 3gb (soon to be GeForce RTX 2070 super) - 2x8gb 2666mhz ddr4 ram - ASRock B360M Xtreme (you won’t be able to find this motherboard anywhere but i have read that apparently it is similar or the exact same as the ASRock B360M Pro4) - Cooler Master MasterWatt Lite 230V 600W 80+ PSU (will be upgrading to a 650W 80+ Titanium PSU) also should I upgrade my motherboard? (I have done a bios update to my B360M motherboard so it is compatible with the i7-9700k)

Booting a PC without a CPU Cooler
Michael McChesney posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Is it OK to boot a PC without attaching a CPU Cooler while trying to troubleshoot? I recently attempted my 2nd PC build. If I ever get it working right it will be a HTPC for my bedroom. After assembling it, I couldn't get it to post. It has a Gigabyte B450 DS3H WiFi Micro ATX motherboard and a Ryzen 3200G CPU. My troubleshooting was hampered because I had no other AMD CPUs or motherboards to use to isolate the problem component. That particular B450 mobo is only $90 and includes both integrated WiFi and an m.2 slot. I think I might like to build with it again, so I bought a 2nd one as well as an Athlon 3000G. My plan is to see if the Athlon CPU will work with the original board and whether the Ryzen will work with the new one and hopefully that will let me see if one of them is the problem. But I had a great deal of difficulty separating the cooler from the Ryzen CPU as the thermal compound seemed to like acting like an adhesive. What I would like to do is to install the CPUs and see if the system will post before I install the coolers. If they work, I will go ahead and install the coolers. If not I will try something else. I figure I should plug the cooler into the CPU fan header to keep the bios happy. But is there any danger in booting the system with a bare IHS? I figure to run the system like that for less than 5 minutes- 22 replies

So I want to upgrade my Ryzen 5 3600 stock cooler with a cheap air cooler. I am a little curious about overclocking, I saw that the Ryzen 3000 series does not have a good improvement in performance with overclocking but I am still a little interested in testing. I live in Africa (Morocco), so the price and the possibility are really limited I found these two CPU coolers Hyper 212 Black edition (for 50 $) and the Scythe Mugen 5 rev.b (for 65 $) Sooooo what should i choose
