I understand that when an AIO is mounted with the pump at the highest point in the loop, it will likely suffer due to air collecting in the pump, which can be bad for the motor/impeller/etc. This is a good reason not to mount rads below the CPU block in most typical AIOs. Problem is, in some (mostly ITX SFF) cases, there is simply no other option. For cases that require an “inverted” orientation as mentioned above, I’m wondering whether it’s enough of a solution to select one of those oddball AIOs that locate the pump in the radiator or inline with the tubes? Certainly this would protect the pump, keeping it submerged in liquid. However, any air in the loop is still going to find its way to the CPU block, which will eventually hurt cooling potential, correct? This would hurt thermal performance and could potentially even damage the CPU block as plastics are exposed to heat that can’t be dissipated by the liquid as designed. I doubt it would be a problem from day one (assuming you get a reasonably full AIO) but as permeation occurs and more air finds its way into the system, I can imagine that the relatively weak impeller pump would struggle to push liquid across a dried out CPU block. In fact if this were the case, wouldn’t you still eventually see too much strain on the pump, if it has to work harder and harder with degrading results? I’m kind of wondering... if I already don’t have any other options aside from the inverted orientation (CPU block up top), does it even matter where the pump is?

Hi, i am fairly new to pc building and i've managed to upgrade my motherboard, cpu and ram a few weeks ago. The problem is that my cpu is idling at around 40-55 degrees with 60-65 short spikes when browsing or while i'm on youtube, and around 70-85 while gaming. I know these kind of temperatures are fairly normal with the stock cooler but i would like to change my case because i don't think i will have enough space for gpu's from rtx 2k/3k series and also because my temperatures are around 5-10 degrees lower if i take the side panel off. My current setup is: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard: b450 gaming plus max GPU: 1050 TI RAM: 2x8 GB Kingston HyperX Fury RGB CL16 3200MHz Case: Zalman Z1 If possible, i would like some recommendations on cases with the max budget of 80-90$, ATX format. I would also like to upgrade my gpu/psu in the near future (rtx 2080/2080ti) and also to buy a aftermarket cpu cooler. I heard cooler master hyper 212 RGB or hyper 212 EVO is a good budget choice but i'll also take any suggestions in consideration. As for the pc case, others told me that nzxt h510 is a pretty solid choice (apart from the airflow which is not that great) or fractal design meshify c.

Okay ! now i am really freaking out for choosing this cpu air cooler . it is just , its just hard to choose for me . I don't know what to choose from 3 of them for my 3700x cooler master hyper 212 rgb black edition cooler master MasterAir MA410P cooler master MasterAir MA410m i was like . i choose at the first time hyper 212 rgb black by making a post before in this forum. but when i get those 2 air cooler also cooler master MasterAir MA410P & cooler master MasterAir MA410m i get confuged .. i want to buy just the performance for 3 of this not looks .. really want to know which is good 3 of them . and if any one have any bench mark review's graph link pleas give me . i search also but didnt get eny comparison 2 oe 3 of them the short and main part is which one is best out of this three ...

I've bought this cheapish motherboard bundle off ebay which includes: H81i motherboard, i5-4460, 4gb of ram and a 240gb ssd. It comes with a cheap aftermarket cpu cooler and after some research its rated at 73w cooling capacity. From the intel website it says the i5-4460 has a 84w tdp. Does this mean the cooler will be incapable of cooler my cpu? I'm also putting it an xbox 360 with limited ventilation so I'm guessing this will not be enough cooler power. Im not thinking of overclocking the CPU and might even undervolt it in the future if I plan on adding a low profile graphics card. Thanks for any help! Edit: is the cooling capacity directly of a cooler linked to the TDP of a cpu?

Hey everyone, I have almost my entire build ordered but I still haven't decided on which cpu cooler I want. I know I want one with a screen that can display its temp but as far as I can tell there aren't many options or lists of them out there (that I can find). So I've started a list to help myself and maybe others find some different AIO's with screens in them. The ones I've been able to find are: AORUS RGB AIO Liquid Cooler (in multiple sizes) Asus ROG RYUO 240 (in multiple sizes) Asus ROG RYUJIN (in multiple sizes) NZXT Kraken Z series (in multiple sizes & RBG / none versions) PcCOOLER Freeze 120 (one of the oldest ones out there) Coolermaster ML240P VIVID (Not out yet but soon? Was supposed to be released sept 2020 but no new information on when it will come out) If anyone else has ones that I missed I would appreciate links! (And if there is already another thread like this please link me and I'll delete this one)

I'm looking to put together a Ryzen 5600x/RTX 3070 build sometime this year and I'm struggling to find a good rgb CPU cooler that I like in my price range. I looked at the Cooler Master ML240L RGB but I heard that it had reliability issues. My budget for a CPU cooler is between 60 to 70 bucks and I don't care whether its liquid or air cooled I just want something to cool my CPU well. Also like I said in the title I would like it to have ARGB or RGB on the fans and in case you recommend a liquid cooler, rgb on the water block. Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I've been looking for a CPU cooler for around $50-$70 bucks that can get me better temps for my Ryzen 5600x. The one I saw was the Cooler Master, Master Liquid ML240L RGB V2 because it seemed to have good reviews and it's $69.98 price fits well into my budget. I want to know what you guys think of it and if you think it'll work well with a Ryzen 5600x. I'm also open to any suggestion's you guys put in the comments. I'll link the coolers amazon page as well as my mobo down below. Hi all, I'm fine tuning my fan curves to keep my Ryzen 7 3700x nice and cool. I just installed the NZXT Kraken X53 AIO and my temps are averaging as follows: Windows Desktop (Idle): 52-56C Gaming: 60-67C I have the radiator mounted to the top of the case with 2 120mm fans to extract hot air. Another 2 intake fans in the front and one exhaust fan in the back. All NZXT 120mm fans. Should I ramp up my fan speeds to push more airflow? Are these good temp readings or should I aim to knock them down about 5-10C each? Do I match the case fans speed to the CPU Cooler Speeds? Or Keep the cooler speeds lower than the case fans to create more positive air pressure? Thanks!!

Hey guys, I am looking at an alternate cooling solution for my new server. It came with two SuperMicro SNK-P0048P preinstalled--the spec sheet for this says it is rated for up to 145 Watts. I wanted to replace these with something active (and quiet), thus making me feel more comfortable turning down the RPM of the 7 80mm fans. I of course went for Noctua and found the NH-L9x65--in the 'notes and warnings' section, it says that it should "be used with care on CPUs with more than 84W TDP." This, of course, was a little confusing to me because, one, it has a fan, and two, the Noctua looks much more beefy. This makes me wonder if SuperMicro's spec takes the airflow of the case fans into account. Any other explanations? I guess what this comes down to is: would I be safe using the Noctua NH-L9x65 with the Xeon E5-2620 v3? The only problems I see are the TDP rating and the fact that I only have a total clearance of 70mm, leaving 5mm for airflow into the fans on the Noctua cooler. Any insights or alternative suggestions for a low-noise cooler that is compatible? Thanks

Hello everyone, currently, I am accumulating all the parts for my first gaming rig. Caused by space constraints, I decided to go mATX for the Motherboard and the case. To counter the expected reduced airflow, I got a MSI Coreliquid 240r AIO, which has it's pump in the radiator. Now to the question: Can I mount it to the top of a case? (I have the choice between two, one with support for radiators at the top, one only supporting fans at the top, the definite choice will be made when my problem is solved) I watched the concerning Video from GamersNexus, but he was only talking about pumps in the CPU block. And applying his explanations to my AIO, the only 2 ways to mount it, would be at the bottom or front with tubes down, so neither the pumps, nor the tubes are on top of the loop. Does anyone have experience with this kind of AIO? Thanks for your help. Sincerely, Breeee

Hey, asked here before about my new build and now I built it but temps of CPU in BIOS seemed higher than I thought. IT was around 45-50 degrees C in bios or in system doing nothing - idle. Anyway, my goal was also to buy cpu cooler but wanted to wait how all parts fit etc and meanwhile use stock cooler. I was looking at Be quiet Dark rock 4/ or even pro version, or Noctua nh-d15, but I am not sure now. Only reason for this is that my RAMs are high thanks to RGB on it, which I did not want but it was only available ram in that shop where I bought them and had 3600MHz. Partpicker says it would fit but I am not sure. Could anyone give me some insights if it will or what other cooler to put on cpu? Dimensions of ram are: https://www.teamgroupinc.com/en/product/delta-rgb-ddr4 49(H) x 147(L) x 7(W)mm - which I am concerned about the height of the rams. Case is Fractal Meshify C. Actually I tried to measure the gap or distance from ram, in case cooler is that low, to the other side and it gave me 125mm, but in the videos about all these coolers mentioned, it always look bigger. So I need to decide which one to buy, as I use my system for video editing and would like to keep temps down as much as I can. Also not sure how to set up other internal fans in that case. It came up with preinstalled two - front and back - but maybe I need to put more, or also use top of the case for some coolers. Any advice on these issues I am facing would be amazing. Thank you. I've got a weird sound being emitted from my PC and I can't really locate from where but it seems like it's either from the CPU cooler (H100x) or the GPU (Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming 8GB). The sound always appears when the PC is under high load, for example during gameplay and rendering. And as Im not familiar with this sound i have no idea where and why it's there, so if someone recognizes the sound from the video I've attached I'd be glad to know! (The sound in the video am referring to is the buzzing and rattling sound you can hear in the beginning) Happy for any advice and info that could help IMG_1877.mp4

Hi guys I have a pc built in 2015 with the following specs: Intel core i7 5820k, msi x99a motherboard, gigabyte g1 980 ti and a corsair h110i cpu cooler. When I turned on my computer today I noticed that the fans were spinning at a higher rpm than normal at idle. Then my pc became really slow probably due to overheating and then it shutdown. When I turned it on again it only stayed on for 20 seconds giving me enough time to reach the bios and see that cpu temps were at 97 degrees with fan rpms at 0. Strangely enough the fans were running even though it indicated that it was at 0 rpm. I then let the pc cool down for a few hours then I tried to turn it on again. Now nothing is coming up on the screen and the pc shuts down after 15 seconds of turning it on. Could my cpu pump have failed? Or is it another issue? Please help. Thank you.

Budget (including currency): Country: america Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So, I got a thermaltake ux100 and I can't find an rgb header for the argb control software on my mobo. My mobo is an Asus p8b75-v. Is there anything I could do to fix this issue?

Would my previous Nh-d14 enough for i9 10900k or i7 10700k

Hello guys I'm planning to build a new PC and i was wondering if i could use my previous CPU cooler NH-d14 with either i9 10900k or i7 10700k? Or do you believe its better find a newer cpu cooler? i have had this cpu cooler for at least 6 or 7 years. Thank you for your time. -
Recently I purchased a 3700X and with it a new motherboard and CPU cooler. One thing I didn't account for was the CPU cooler blocking the PCIe 1 slot on the motherboard. At first I simply used the PCIe 3 slot to get around this, but after reading over the manual it mentions that the PCIe 3 slot "Is used for PCI Express x4 lane width graphics cards". To clarify, both slots are PCIe 4.0 x16. I did some reading on it and from what I understand this should not affect performance in a significant way. Even so, it is rather annoying and was looking for some second opinions on the matter. The way I see I see there are 3 reasonable options 1) Keep things as is and use the PCIe 3 slot that "Is used for PCI Express x4 lane width graphics cards" 2) Return the motherboard and get one that either accounts for large CPU coolers in the PCIe 1 slot placement or that has both PCIe x16 slots used for x16 lane width GPUs 3) Return the CPU cooler and use a smaller cooler/stock cooler (Least desirable option since I'll likely want to overclock) The motherboard: https://www.newegg.com/asrock-x570-phantom-gaming-4s/p/N82E16813157915?Item=N82E16813157915 The CPU cooler: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L7UZMAK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hi everyone! My case, the Corsair RGB 220t Airflow has a maximum CPU cooler height of 160mm. The CPU cooler that I want to order is 158mm+3mm for the cromax heat sink cover. Normally,. I would avoid this because its too tall. However, On PcPartPicker, I saw a build with the same parts, and it looked like it fit. If someone could give me some advice here it will be much appreciated. Thanks!

So, after building my first pc featuring a new Ryzen 3700X with the stock Prism cooler, I have discovered only 4 days later, that the fan bearing has leaked its lubricant all over the fan ring and this resulted in the fan making an unpleasant scrubbing noise when spinning, and its overall noise levels increased. I remember that just after building it, the CPU was practically silent at idle, now you can clearly hear an unpleasant noise at idle. Searching for the issue online, I discovered that there a few similar cases around, all being very recent, starting about second half of august. Checking the coolers box, it states the the product revision is D, so it's possible that this is a recent revision, and it is faulty. Now I am wondering what should I do about this. Should I try to contact AMD support, try to involve the warranty and end up with no CPU for the RMA process, because they will hardly just replace or refund the cooler itself. Alternatively, could i just try to fix it by disassembling it and replying oil to it? Or screw the stock cooler altogether and get a Hyper 212?

My air cooler, an Abatab 6pipe, has a bit of a mounting problem in that one of the screws in the picture wont properly thread into its hole. I think the threads have stripped to be just loose enough to not be usable. Does anyone know where to point me for a replacement? Link to the cooler

https://imgur.com/c0NgmUo Gamers Nexus new video states that the best AIO Front Radiator with tubes going down to eliminate air bubbles. Does it really matter? Because I have a 360mm AIO on its way and I'm not sure if the tubes will allow me to orient it from the bottom as the link above shows. * Top rad is not an option. Rad + fan is too thicc and will hit my mobo and ram. My case is an NZXT H440

Hello, I have recently bought a CPU cooler Thermaltake UX200 ARGB , I am using Gigabyte B450M GAMING (rev. 1.0) motherboard, During the Cooler installation, i found these 2 cable connector, labeled with G & D. I am not understanding, where i can connect those to my motherboard! Is there any way to connect these 2 pin to my motherboard directly? If no will it be a problem ? Some pictures are given below: Motherboard Layout: User Manual (Provided By Thermaltake ) Present Pic Of the Motherboard:
