Cavaet: People have different values. Some people may want to spend more to have a cooler that is very quiet or near-silent. Some people may value aesthetics. Not everyone is solely focused on performance-to-price. But if your main priority is performance-to-price, you may not need to spend more than $50 on cooler. A video from Hardware Canucks compared a $40 air cooler (Thermalright Assassin) to $90-110 air coolers. Not only were the temperature differences marginal, but even having 2 less degrees doesn't seem to meaningfully increase your framerates on games. I've seen other videos with similar points about cooling. (I'm not saying I have expertise in this just because I watched a few videos and if there are test that have found different results, let me know) A common mistake I see are builds with mid-range CPU's but expensive coolers. The CPU is way more important than the cooler. You get better performance from $300 CPU/$50 cooler than $200 CPU/$100 cooler. If have the best CPU possible for your needs (maybe the latest Intel i7/i9 or the highest consumer level Ryzen), and you're an enthusiast that wants to spend an extra $50-100 to get a few more frames in game, then get the $100+ air cooler or AIO. But this probably isn't the majority of people.

Budget (including currency): 2k-2,5k € Country: Slovakia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: enthusiast gaming/streaming(OBS) at up to 1440/144Hz and amateur video editing/learning (DaVinci Resolve, etc) Other details: Hello, I am building a new PC for the very first time and would like to ask experienced builders if everything will be compatible. Main purpose will be enthusiast gaming/streaming with regular video editing which hopefully will become full time over the years. Price should be around 2k-2,5k € but the part picker has totally different prices because of my country (Slovakia/Europe) so there is that. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hYyY6r I have already bought the CPU and GPU because they were at great price. Here are my main concerns: -CPU cooler and RAM clearance: according to this site it will not go well with the chosen RAM unless I move the fan but I am not sure if there will be space for it in chosen case and the last thing I want to do is to return and look for another cooler in the middle of building it since it will be my first time i would like everything to go as smooth as possible -how much cooling would I need since the base version of the case comes with 2x120mm but I want to go with more expensive version of the same case at local store which changes them for 4x120mm ARGB for only 20$ more -is it really worth to go DDR5 instead of DDR4 for this build: since DDR5 motherboards in my country are around 100$ more for the same quality and I don't want to downgrade VRM etc. and RAM costs are 20-50$ more depending on specs and the impact doesn't seem that big as far as I know PS: Do I need to worry about this note from partpicker because I'm not sure I understand it and can someone please explain it if it's a big deal for a first time builder: Note: The video card PCIe 16-pin power connector adapter is being supplied by three 6+2-pin power connectors. Please ensure that the three 6+2-pin power connectors are not daisy-chained and do not share the same power cable. Thank you for any suggestions and help.

Hello everyone, I'm Ivan. I live in Italy, and in these days we are facing a very hot weather. My room reach 30°C (about 86°F) and my PC runs very hot. Well... Not very hot but hotter than when I have 20-22°C room temp. I'm a technician, and I change every month or so thermal paste on both CPU and GPU. Now, the GPU runs at 60-70°C depending on what type of games I'm playing, but the CPU on idle stays at 60°C, when in early June and before, on idle stayed at 40-45°C. So, here it is my question: I have an Arctic Freezer eSports 34 DUO. Could a Cooler Master AIO 120 lower my CPU temps? And maybe a little bit even my GPU's temps, since the AIO throws directly out of my case all CPU's heat... Thank you to whoever will answer!

Hey, so I built my first ever gaming pc 2 weeks ago and everything is great so far loving the performance I get and everything is perfect but there is one issue my pc smells like something is burning like it's not straight up burnt but it smells like melting plastic or something like that. Ive tried to research online but everything that came up was the psu but I recently figured out it is my cpu cooler. I'm not sure if this is normal for it to smell. When the pc is under heavy workload like gaming my pc gets hot on top (where the cpu cooler is) and it smells but when my pc is idle or just not on heavy workload the smell if gone or there isn't smell. Is there any tips on how to stop the awful smell. My parents keep complaining it stinks and I want to get rid of the smell or they'll make me get rid of the pc. My pc specs Rtx 4080 13th gen intel core i9 13900k Case: cooler master mini itx case nr200p Cpu cooler: cooler master 280mm aio cpu cooler (came with the case) Psu: sff 850 watt 80 plus gold cooler matsr psu (also came with the case)

The computer has the LGA2011 mount like this shown in the pictures. Will I have any problem mounting any LAG2011 compatible cooler on this? I'm sorry if this sounds stupid but my Lenovo workstation has a lot of proprietary things on it so I wanted to make sure this is not one of them. Also i wanted to use this cooler but one page says it supports LGA2011 and the other not. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004434667261.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.3.136a2fccU9q6Qc&algo_pvid=d7d6cb95-a41c-4745-b2c5-7baaafd1575f&algo_exp_id=d7d6cb95-a41c-4745-b2c5-7baaafd1575f-1&pdp_npi=3%40dis!EUR!93.53!74.82!!!!!%40211be10916847654481881538d07e2!12000029172049477!sea!GR!2358484870&curPageLogUid=ufJjxHbob5oh https://www.corsair.com/ww/en/p/cpu-coolers/cw-9060023-ww/hydro-series-h5-sf-low-profile-liquid-cpu-cooler-cw-9060023-ww

Hey guys, i just finished cleaning my PC and just pluged everything back together. The CPU fan is now not spinning. There is a Continuous Beeep allert for the same. The PC does boot up, went into Bios, Checked Gigabyte Smart fan menu, and it Confirms that CPU fan is at Zero RPM. I changed bios from Manual speeds to full speed and it still does nothing. After leaving bios, the pc does continue to boot up to the Windows Password screen, where i turn it off to avoid overheating. CPU is Ryzen 7 2700x Mobo is Gigabyte AUG x470 CPU fan is AMD's wraith Prism which came with CPU

Country: Australia Other details I got this cooler second hand and it came with 3 120mm Corsair fans attached to the radiator but I don't think that the cooler module is actually Corsair because I cant find it anywhere. The guy said that he got it new 2 years ago from MSY in Australia if that helps.

Hey guys, Full story: i had high cpu temps bc of bad spread thermal paste so i swapped it. after re assembling everything i wanted to test it, played about half an hour of anno 1800 when my cpu fan shut down. When booting after that the fan didnt start spinning at all and in bios it doesnt show any cpu fan now. Tried reconnecting the cable, using cpu fan opt instead of the usual pins and resetting bios to default but it stays off. How are chances cpu cooler is dead compared to motherboard? :p

Too me this sounds ridiculous but i'm gonna need some help here . I upgraded my ram today (for the first time ) from 16GB (2x8gb) to 32GB (2x16gb) . all went well RAM I upgraded to : CORSAIR CMK32GX4M2E3200C16 It did run at a speed of 2133 , a quick google search shows to change in the bios the XMP from off to profile 1 , which i did and that worked running at 3200 .(performance and everything is perfect , no problems here ) But since i changed that XMP profile my led light for my Radiator fans and CPU cooler stay on when in sleep or shut down ( super annoying ) CPU Cooler : PCS FrostFlow 240 Series ARGB High Performance Liquid Cooler (AMD) , I am 99%sure that its the XMP profile setting in bios as i just changed it back to off and the lights turn off when in sleep or power off . also checked in bios setting for LED's to turn off when in sleep , hibernation and shutdown . so i am baffled into why this is happening , i need my faster RAM speeds more than some silly LED but just an annoyance . Also but can live without for now (Gigabyte software , App Centre , RGB fusion , ext.. just don't launch anymore , could be linked but if not , not a priority at the minute ) Main Pc specs : CPU AMD Ryzen 7 5700X Eight Core Motherboard GIGABYTE B550 GAMING X V2 RAM CORSAIR CMK32GX4M2E3200C16 32Gb (2x16GB) GPU 12GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 CPU Cooler PCS FrostFlow 240 Series ARGB Liquid Cooler (AMD) Any help appreciated , thanks ! I have a Intel i5-12400F on a Gigabyte B760M Ds3H AX Rev. 1.x (DDR5) with stock intel cooler. PC Case is XPG Starker Air(Mid tower). Graphics Gigabyte RTX 3060 Windforce OC. Currently, I have my processor idling at 45 C - 50 C. The case had three front fans XPG Vento A-RGB and one Rear Fan XPG Vento. All fans 120 mm. Question 1 : Which is the best budget CPU cooler which will fit in the case without clearance issues, especially with the GPU and the side panel, and improve the cooling? The top radiator space is empty. I may plan to fit in 2 X 140 mm fans in future. But for now, I have blocked the top grill so that the air flow is from front to back of the case; preventing the top front fan passing the air directly out to atmosphere from the top grill. Photo attached. The top magnetic filter I have shifted slightly to reveal the blocking sheet below. Question 2 : Is this a good way to ensure cross flow from front to back? Am I limiting my cooling by blocking the top section?

Hello, i have an old intel stock cooler (like really old from lga 1150) for an E3 1231-v3 XEON the thing is that it works great but it has some damage on the things that keep it on the motherboard, so i want to replace it, I have the option in my city to buy a deepcool gamma archer that has a very low cost and i wanna know if this is AT LEAST the same as good or better as the intel one. "The next one in my town is like 3 times the price of the deepcool cooler"( and i dont wanna pay for shipping)

My newely build pc has been working fine without any issues before I decide to swap out the CPU cooler to an arctic liquid freezer ii 420 and add extension cables from Cablemod to give it a cleaner look. These are the only changes I've made, yet I get a "no display" message from my monitor. What could be the culprit here? Something I think is also worth mentioning is that my CPU has been undervolted in the BIOS.

Hello, so I just though about, what if I try to somehow add another fan to the end side of my AK620 CPU cooler, so there is another pull fan. Has anyone tried this before, does it increase any performance and how did you go about doing it? Zip ties or something? For this to work I guess I would have to use 1 to 3 pin extender on the CPU fan pin socket, is this safe?

Hello, so I recently upgraded my system and I got a AK 620 as my CPU cooler. The Cooling is good enough and I don't get thermal throttled. But recently It has started to make quite loud buzzing noise at around 1200-1300 RPM. Other than that the sound cannot be heard. My question is could it be just a fan rubbing against the fins or something like that or is the fan faulty?

So I never really picked up how exactly to choose a PSU, I could use some tips on how to get exact numbers of Watts, because I just can't find how many Watts will for example RAM or motherboard need. Below are the parts that I picked so far, GPU IS A PLACEHOLDER FOR NOW, IT MAY CHANGE DEPENDING ON FINAL BUDGET (I don't have a final budget yet, so more expensive parts don't have to mean worse GPU), thats why I need generic tips on how to pick a PSU, I also need help with CPU cooler, because I am not really sure how I am supposed to pick cheapest cooler that can cool an i5 13th gen, I just need something to look for in a cooler or some recommendations for some cheap cooler, I don't really care about looks, I just need it to cool my CPU for the lowest possible price. I also wasn't too sure about what motherboard to choose, I don't need anything super expensive, I just want one that will work fine with my components, so I will be glad for any recommendations. If there is anything else that I could change, please let me know, I am aiming for a decent value/price gaming PC that is as future proof as possible. Also I am from czechia and I will be buying parts from either alza.cz or czc.cz as it's just better for me than for example amazon. CPU: Intel Core i5-13600KF CPU Cooler: SilentiumPC Fera 5 Motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z690-P RAM: Kingston FURY 32GB KIT DDR5 5600MHz CL40 Beast Black RGB SSD: Samsung 980 1TB (I will also use 1TB HDD from my current PC) GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3070 GAMING OC 8G (rev. 2.0) PLACEHOLDER FOR NOW Case: I didn't pick a case yet, I don't really care about looks that much, I will find something that's not too expensive later. Thanks in advance for any help.

Is this cooler fine or should I upgrade to a AIO water cooling or a different air cooler? I'm thinking about the following incase my current cooler may not be good enough; Water Cooling AIO - ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240 ~ USD 105 Air Cooler - be quiet! DARK ROCK PRO 4 (BK022) ~ USD 95 Is there something better in the same price range? Is there something you'd recommend that I change in this build? PS: I haven't tested it as I am going to assemble the PC next week and I'm concerned about this in particular. The ordered parts are about to be delivered. I appreciate all recommendations! Hello, Thinking about upgrading my CPU to the Ryzen 7 5700x. I'm not sure which cooler to pick for it since most videos seem to be about the Ryzen 7 5800x which runs substantially hotter. I would rather air cool vs an AIO. Some of the coolers I've looked at include Be quiet! So I know roughly how to put together a list, but few of the things I still am not 100% sure on. Here's a list I made now with 13th gen Intel on a ~1300USD budget: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qChRhk I know if someone were to buy all those parts the machine would probably work. Question 1: But, how do I know if the Silcone Power RAM is compatible with MSI PRO Z690-A? Like I know just the MB and RAM being same DDR isn't always guarantee, maybe this is a Ryzen thing, but I don't want to recommend something that could potentially not work. I'm obviously vigilant, I go to to MSI website here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z690-A-DDR4/support#mem And I find this: It found the brand, but the model is different, also "supported speed". Is that the same thing as (i5 12600k) this?: "Memory type" of CPU is 3200MT but it's 99% possible to run 3600 or 4000 or even faster RAM with it probably. Does the same thing apply to the MB? Is the model number only important sometimes? If it's just a Ryzen thing what should I know? / How should I procceed to avoid RAM incompatibility? Question 2: PCpartpicker says: "The Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black 55 CFM CPU Cooler may require a separately available mounting adapter to fit the MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard." Does that mean anything? Because the cooler is under 1700LGA socket list, why would it need seperate mounting adapter? Question 3: Cooler Master G700 700 W 80+ Gold Certified - isn't on the PSU tier list. Can the PSU handle my "high end build", just for the sake that it's 80+ Gold and Cooler Master being qute reputable brand? (and obviously enough W juice) Question 4: There is no Motherboard tierlist for Intel, how do know if I'm not pairing 13th Gen Intel with a MB that has VRMs designed to handle only Pentium? Question 5: PCpartpicker link is great, but faster is seeing the list without having to click on the link, is there like a command or copy-paste function that can do that? Question 6: PCpartpicker also says: " Some physical dimension constraints are currently not checked, such as CPU coolers and RAM clearance." I know that's going to appear in 99% of the lists, but how does one determine ram clearance? Like for example if the RAM heatsink is very tall. Thank you.

I have an Envinda X79-6M Motherboard (LGA 2011 - 0 ) and an Intel XEON E5-2690 CPU. It looks like this: https://imgur.com/a/2tYkWXX For the CPU Cooler, it comes with a plastic ring (looks a lot like AMD style) and four plastic screws. They look like this: https://imgur.com/a/upF7tXK -- I have a SYY 120MM CPU Cooling fan - ( S5-120-B ) - I bought it here: https://www.amazon.com/SYY-Heatpipes-Premium-Hydraulic-Bearing/dp/B098JHS395 The CPU cooler says it works with the LGA 2011 socket, but I see absolutely no way that this CPU Cooler will connect to the motherboard. I have no idea what is going on here. What am I missing? Do I need an AMD style CPU Cooler for this motherboard? If yes, what CPU Cooler will work with this motherboard? I am really coming up empty in my searches. Is there any way to use the SYY 120MM CPU Cooling fan - ( S5-120-B ) ?

I recently bought a i3-12100 paired with an RTX 2060. I have been using the stock cooler and haven't faced any performance issues yet. My cpu and gpu temp is about 50-55 degree celsius on idle and reaches up to 76-79 degree celsius while gaming. Is this okay or should I get a Deepcool Ak400 cpu cooler? If this is ok then I would use the money to get a headphone and a mouse instead.

Budget (including currency): 100€ (for the CPU cooler) Country: Italy Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming without overclocking Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): see below. Hello, I am new. Build summary I assembled my PC about 4 years ago. Unfortunately I cheaped out by never installing intake fans, as well as never investing in a third-party CPU cooler. The PC only had a rear exhaust fan and Ryzen's stock cooler. I also haven't reapplied the thermal paste since first assembly out of fear of breaking anything. To avoid any further damage,I installed 3 Arctic PWM PST CO fans in the front as intake. I also modded my case by removing the front panel and applying a mesh filter. I use AMD's Ryzen Balanced power plan. The PC runs the overwhelming majority of games at 80c with stable FPS, but I noticed occasional massive spikes in the 85-90c range. Seeing as the max temperature is listed by Ryzen Master as 95c, that can't be good. However, by some miracle I never had any performance issues whatsoever. Question 1: CPU Cooler upgrade I've been considering Noctua's NH-D15S and the ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO. Noctua coolers are often described as the best, but the latter is frequently suggested on pcpartpicker and is cheaper. Given the considerable price difference between the two and the fact that I don't overclock, I don't know which one I should get. Question 2: CPU and GPU upgrade due to potential temperature damage To address the elephant in the room, I assume that the CPU and GPU must be on their last legs due to the reasons listed above, even though I have no performance issues whatsoever at the moment. Should I just replace them with a Ryzen 5 5600X and an RTX 3060 Ti in the future, or can I stick with my current setup and simply install a new cooler? For context, I don't play games at extreme settings, so long as they look nice. I'm content with 1080p 60 FPS for singleplayer games and 144 FPS in competitive online games (though the current monitor is 60Hz). System Configuration: Operating System: Windows 11 21H2, OS Build 22000.832 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600, no overclock GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1660 Ti OC 6G Motherboard: MSI B450 GAMING PLUS MAX with E7B86AMS.H50 (11/07/2019) BIOS RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 MHz (2x8) with XMP settings enabled PSU: Corsair VS650 (2018) 650 W Monitor: BenQ GL2450 Case: Thermaltake V200 Tempered Glass (modded for proper airflow - front panel removed, mesh filter installed) Fans: 3x120mm Arctic P12 PWM PST CO intake front, 1x120mm Thermaltake stock exhaust rear Clearance: CPU cooler height limitation: 160 mm VGA length limitation: 320 mm PSU length limitation: 160mm(With HDD Rack), 200mm(Without HDD Rack)
