Does anyone have experience with installing the DarkFlash ELLSWORTH S11 air cooler? I have a problem with installing the metal piece that attaches to the back of the motherboard, the screws don’t seem to align properly. My motherboard is ASUS Prime H610M-A WIFI D4. I couldn’t find any guides or tutorials for this cooler, please help :’c

Hi all, I found a Thermaltake Tower 112 while digging through boxes of my old hardware. Back in the day (~2005), this was one of the most massive coolers available. Its weight (1.2 kg - more than a NH-D15 - of pure copper) far exceeded the maximum specs of Socket 939 and Socket 775. I used it with my overclocked Opteron 144 on an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe for several years (stock 1.8 GHz, running stable at 2.8 GHz!). I have little interest in building a retro system of that era despite the many fond memories of my old system. However, I think it could be fun to try this cooler on a modern CPU. I know it's probably not going to break any records, but it should be able to handle ~120W TDP without too much trouble. I'm looking for ideas how to mount it to a Socket AM4 motherboard. The original bracket supports sockets 478/775/462/754/939, none of which has (as far as I know) the same hole pattern as any modern socket. I know that some manufacturers sell upgrade kits for their coolers. Do you know any that might fit this old Thermaltake cooler? Or should I just make my own bracket? Thanks! Radim

Hello folks, I need some assistance in how to solve a temperature issue I'm having with my cpu. I recently just finished a build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/ojun888/saved/#view=LyX9CJ. I don't know why but the cpu is running at 70ish celsius while just being idle and while I was downloading windows and drivers and what not it was over 90 celsius. I know that this is not normal so after some quick googling I was told that I should check the pump, make sure its working and of course make sure it is properly on the cpu. the pump is indeed working, and after some touching I can confirm that one of the pump things is hot and the other not hot. I also made sure to unscrew the cooler block re-apply thermal paste and then screw it back on making sure the screws were tight and it was on the cpu. Even still the cpu was running hot and I could not find any solutions past the ones I've listed above. Any ideas and input would be greatly appreciated I'm still a bit of a pc newbie and if you need pictures of stuff feel free to let me know and I will do my best to provide them.

Hi Guys! I just got my hands on a RTX 2080Ti Turbo from Asus at a really good price. I been looking to replace the cooler since these cards have the reference PCB but I found myself with not too many options. First of all what I had in mind, and Arctic Accelero Xtreme IV it's not available anymore. Second the Raijintek option seems awful to me as the card will look really weird and third and last the NZXT option doesn't convince me still. So I had a large search on AliExpress for Heatsinks for cards that use the reference PCB not having much luck like I said. My source for this has been overclock.net . I rather to stick to an ASUS cooler to keep the look the best as possible but would consider other coolers from other manufacturers as long as it fits the reference pcb. Hope you can give me a hand with this and thanks in advance :D

Budget (including currency): 2000usd Country: united states Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Dota 2, Halo Infinite, Playstation games, photo editing, 4k video streaming to TV. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have acquired an i7 12700k cpu. Aorus z690 elite ax ddr5 motherboard. 750w 80plus gold psu I won these in a giveaway earlier this year and I finally have the resources to put aside and build my rig. Graphic cards come and go. I'll figure out which one I'm getting later. Eyeing a used 3080 or waiting for the 4070. For now I'm looking to maximize the potential of this new pc. Last pc I built in 2015 still runs strong. I7-4790. Gtx970. 16gb ddr3. Loads up fast. Excel netflix light photo editing, all is well. Still beats my companies work pc in every way. The first game I ran into issues with was Halo Infinite. Im eager to play that game in better fps and looks... but also want to have the best experience in everything else. Ram. Obviously going ddr5. Aiming for 64gb. But question on the timings and ratings. Should I do 2x32 or 4x16?? Is there that much difference between 5200mhz and 5600mhz? Would 4800 be enough? I'm not looking to break records. I want reliable and i want to not feel pressure into upgrading every year. Ssd/ storage The MB has 4 m.2 ports. One is very close to the cpu. I'm looking to grab 2 or 3 multiple TB drives for document storage. But i wanted to get opinion on the boot drive. The boot drive im assuming is going to be the slot closest to the cpu. My idea is to get the fastest best ssd of at least 1 TB into that slot. For my operating system and a select few games and apps. Or should it be a smaller drive with the OS only? Is intel optane a thing I should look into? Any one have good recommendations for a cooler and or case? I'm not picky. But i also do not want guady or gouche. Rgb to me is meh. But i would like to make sure the USB c ports on the front of the case are the best they can be. Can i get thunderbolt ports and usbc ports to work with this motherboard? My wife is an apple user so I want to be able to plug some of her stuff in if needed. Any cool expansion cards I should look into? Thank you in advance. Hope everyone is well.

Help: Upgraded my cpu cooler, now my PC won't boot anymore
Djeunut posted a topic in Troubleshooting
So I got a new Corasir aio for my birthday. I was installing it yesterday but when I was trying to get my air cooler out I took out the cpu too. So the thermal paste had completely dried out which led to my cpu coming straight out of the socket with my cooler. I had 3 bent pins on the edge of the cpu which I tried straightening very carefully with a sharp knife. After a couple of minutes I managed to fix the pins and got the cpu to fit in to the socket again. When I tried turning my pc on my motherboard rgb turned on, but when I pressed the power button it didn't do a single thing not even by shorting the pins. I have no clue if my pc isn't turning on because of my cpu or because of the motherboard because this sounds like an issue that could appear when either of the 2 is damaged. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to further diagnose the issue. Thanks in advance- 21 replies

12th gen Thermal grizzly 12th gen CPU bracket
Kade b posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
So currently my performance cores get upto 85ish-C when using CinebenchR23.2 (I know it's not real world but yeah) I am wondering if a Thermal grizzly CPU bracket would help temperatures much? Sits around 25-30 while idle. CPU - i7-12700KF Cooler - link -
I was thinking of getting either the Corsair ICUE H170i ELITE LCD vs Noctua NH-D15S but didn't find thermals comparing them directly, I have 13700k cpu, and want it for gaming as well as video editing rendering Anyone know of any thermal charts comparing them, or do u recommend one over the other and why? Should I instead get the iCUE H170i ELITE CAPELLIX version with no screen? Any other recommendation is welcome Please note that the Corsair I'm looking for is the version with the screen, and it is different from the non-LCD screen version (iCUE H170i ELITE CAPELLIX) which has copper and different fans, whereas the LCD screen version has aluminum and don't know if fans are better or worse, any info on this is welcome.

Hello. I am looking to upgrade my pc, and after looking at different motherboards, I am left with some questions that I hope some of you may have the answer to. Due to price (and no overclocking) I am looking at these two motherboards for two different CPUs: (have not desided which cpu jet) INTEL: https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-b660m-a-wifi-d4/ and AMD: https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/tuf-gaming/tuf-gaming-b550m-plus-wifi-ii/. I want to use an AiO to cool the cpu, but I cant find a "aio_pump" or any other AiO connectors on the motherboards. Does this mean that I have to use a wind-cooler? I cant find a aio-connector on any other mATX boards either, so does this mean that mATX boards are wind-coolers only? If I choose AMD, I will most likely use this cooler: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Liquid-Cooling/Single-Radiator-Liquid-Coolers/Hydro-Series™-H60-(2018)-120mm-Liquid-CPU-Cooler/p/CW-9060036-WW If I choose INTEL, I will most likely use one of these coolers: https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/cooling/tuf-gaming/tuf-gaming-lc-120-argb/ or https://nzxt.com/product/kraken-120 If you are wondering, I am standing between these two CPUs: Ryzen 9 5900x or 15 13600k

Hello everyone. I want to buy a new cooler for my new CPU ( Ryzen 5700x ) and I don’t know if it will fit in my current case which is a Corsair Carbide 400c. Has anyone else installed the same or similar cooler on the top of the case? Im not planning on installing it on the rear side of the case. Thank you.

Received my AIO Cooler in the mail in its original packaging box (no additional padding or anything). I carelessly dropped it on concrete floor from about waist height. I’ve opened the box to check for leaks and cracks in the water block mirror, but can’t find any. I’m just being paranoid, but do you think it’s 100% fine?

I've been trying to clean my PC since I haven't gotten around to cleaning it since I got it, which was around 4 years ago. Yesterday I cleaned it of dust and I tried to change the thermal paste of my GPU and CPU, since I saw that they were running a little hotter than i'd like (As of writing this, whilst I only have the browser opened, my GPU is at 34C and my CPU is at 40C). I removed my GPU from the case, flipped it over and tried to unscrew it, but couldn't, it was like if the screws were on the other side, where the fans were, which I don't think is what's happening here. I might just be stupid and be using a wrong type of screwdriver, but I just picked up a regular phillips screwdriver I had lying around, maybe I need a smaller one? The CPU is easy to apply thermal paste to, it's the cooler that's hard to take off. It has some metal bars that are really hard to get rid of, due to my case being quite cramped and my wires always getting in the way. I managed to remove one but the other one was right against the top cover of the case. I tried to flip the case on it's back and have the cooler point straight up, I thought maybe it'd give me some leverage and I'd be able to remove it, but no. I then tried unscrewing some screws around the CPU, which I thought were holding the cooler and heatsink (I think that's what the thing the cooler was inside is called) but I got scared that maybe I'll unscrew something I shouldn't and stopped. I've attached a picture of my cooler that I got off the internet, I don't know the specific model it is, but that's what it looks like. Hopefully I can get some help, my PC definitely needs it, haha.

Summary In a Chiphell post it was explained that this cooler was supposed to be used for an RTX 40 series card with a peak power of 900W; since that’s of course peak power, the actual TDP could be much lower. The leaker has other photos apparently, but only some were published. In the released pictures you can see a massive four slot cooler frame, and heatsink for a supposedly unreleased Ada Lovelace GPU. Quotes My thoughts Now it's obvious this cooler was meant for what was described as "The Beast" or the Ada Titan. But many news outlets have since claimed that card has been cancelled and there will be no Ada Titan. MLID claimed the reason the Ada Titan was cancelled was because it was "melting power supplies, and sometimes melting itself." I'm wondering if this cooler will be repurposed for the 4090 Ti, as the 4090 is not the full fat AD102 die; so there's still room to release a fully enabled AD102. Utilizing this cooler would definitely keep the temps in check like the 4090 cooler does. As the 4090 is not thermally limited by any means. We will probably have to see what RDNA 3 brings to the table before we see NVIDIA make a move on releasing a more powerful card though. Hi all, I'm planning to build desktop with Ryzen 5600G.. Is Ryzen 5600G Stock cooler enough to handle the CPU heat when gaming or heavy workloads. Or should I consider liquid cooling solution.

Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on these cpu cooler screws on my motherboard I’ve tried my best to be able to unscrew them I’ve been told that they shouldn’t be too tight to be able to take them out and replace them with new screws to be able to put my nzxt cooler in any advice would be appreciated thanks guys.

Budget (including currency): Roughly 400 AED ≈ 100 USD could be a little higher or lower if it will make a significant difference in performance. Country: UAE Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly for gaming and studying Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://ae.pcpartpicker.com/list/GYBrtn it's a first time build, motherboard and power supply still not decided fully so please do feel free to suggest any changes that could cut costs or better improve the build, (ps i prefer an ATX over mATX), also fans for the case are undecided on so feel free to leave some suggestions on them as well (preferably RGB fans)

Budget (including currency): 100€ ig, but if you think I should spend more then tell me and show me the best options please Country: France/Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Autodesk Inventor, Blender, OBS Studio (streaming and recording), DaVinci Resolve, Star Citizen, Fallout 4 with mods, VRChat, Beat Saber with mods, Satisfactory with mods, Minecraft with mods, Forza Horizon 5, Asseto Corsa with mods, GTA V with mods and actually many many more games and many with mods. I would probably use the integrated graphics before getting an RTX3080. If I would buy an i5-12600K, what would be the cheapest, good quality coolers to keep it cool enough, so it doesn't throttle down and I can use its full potential? (And maybe separately the same, but if I also overclock it a bit) My ATX case supports coolers up to 162mm. I will probably use DDR4 Kingston Fury Beast RAM sticks, if the cooler you have in mind might get stuck on them. Because I really don't know what to get, except that it's probably going to be noctua.

I heard that the boxed cooler is pretty good but I'm not afraid of spending extra money for a good cpu cooler. So should I get an extra cooler and if yes which one?
