I have a thought about this a while ago. Why is a lot of us always going against adding another RAM (for the sake of upgrading) even if they've the same EXACT product code? I did this once when I paired a Team Elite DDR3 12800 RAM w/ heatsink with another one that has no heatsink, but with exactly the same product code. It has been detected as dual channel and benchmarks fine in everything. Why should I not try something like this again?

Hello guys, i ve got an AORUS B450 Pro motherboard with a ryzen 2700x. I got the chance to upgrade my memory to a 3600 ram, which i consider to be a very good upgrade and future proof for any cpu and motherboard upgrade, but here comes the question. What the maximum speed i can get out of that ram with the existing motherboard?

Hello, I'm upgrading my CPU to a Ryzen 7 3800x but I am using a MSI RX 590 8gb graphics card. I think it's safe to say I need a graphics card upgrade but I dont know what would be best matched for that cpu, if anyone knows or has suggestions it would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance

Hello guys I'm planning to upgrade my desktop pc with a budget of $250. Primarily used for gaming, light photo/video editing and possibly streaming. Most games are usually still manageable on a 60Hz monitor. Tomb Raider only managable in low settings. I also can't seem to stream and processing/encoding media takes too long. My current build: Intel i3-2120 Gigabyte B750M-D3V Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz EVGA GTX 1050 ti EVGA GQ-750 WDC Carivar Blue x3 Upgrade plan($233):: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 AF Gigabyte B450M DS3H Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x8GB) 3000MHz C15 I wanted to know if there is any compatibility issue with my planned parts and if an ASROCK B450 Pro4 would be better on a $7 difference? The USB 3.1 Gen 2 and Type-C seemed convenient. Would there also be a problem if I get the DDR4 3200MHZ C16 variety instead? Tnx edit: Unfortunately used parts are not in my options since the Parts will be sent to the Philippines by a relative of mine that don't know anything about computers part and testing. The used parts market in our country is also bad for desktops pc parts

Hello guys, forgive my english so last week i picked up Apple PowerMac G5 with 30inch Apple Cinema display combo for 200 euros. Almost mint condition with boxes. So i fired them up and they worked perfectly. Then i started thinking about connecting that display to my PC. It's a pretty good machine with 9600k and rtx 2070. But that apple display needs a DVI dual-link cable to run on its full resolution and i don't have it on my card :/. So then i thought that i could put GPU from PowerMac (Geforce 6600) to my PC. But im kinda scared. My question is if i can safely run a RTX 2070 simultaneously with Geforce 6600.

Hi guys i finally joined the forum after years of watching LTT. I hope you guys can help me with this issue. There seems to be a lot of mixed results online and its mostly for ddr4 and not ddr3. So to the question: I have 2 sticks of hyperx fury 1333mhz ram in my system that i keep clocked at 1600mhz. Id like to know if i would have any issue with if i added 2 more sticks of adata 1600 mhz to my system. (all sticks are 4gb modules) Im running a i5 4670k (at stock for the moment) on a asrock z87 extream 3 mobo with a gtx 1060 3gb. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm upgrading my pc with budget motherboard, CPU and RAM. I'm curious if R5 1600 is compatibile with G.SKILL 16 GB (8x2) DDR4, 2400 MHz (F4-2400C15S-8GIS) on ASROCK A320M-HDV R4.0 mobo. RAM is not on the motherboard QVL list but it's very cheap so I'm asking if someone more experienced can tell if this combination will work. I heard that 1st gen Ryzen had problems with RAM compatibility and I really don't want to buy the wrong RAM.

Hey all, one of my friends has been a console gamer all his life and recently decided to try out PC gaming since all of his friends are playing on PC due to the virus. He reached out asking for help building his first PC with a budget of $1000. He isn't very tech savvy, but I figure if he watches some YouTube videos and has come common sense (and maybe a friend there to help him out) he should be fine. He asked if it could include the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. As far as I know, he plans on using it for school and gaming, no editing or streaming. Not sure what games he plays, but I'd imagine he'd like to be able to play anything he can play on Xbox on PC. Here is what we made while talking about what he needed: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor $172.76 @ Walmart Motherboard ASRock B450 Pro4 ATX AM4 Motherboard $79.99 Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory $67.99 @ Newegg Storage Western Digital Blue 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive $69.99 @ Newegg Storage Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $54.98 @ Newegg Video Card MSI Radeon RX 5700 8 GB MECH OC Video Card $301.99 @ Newegg Case Fractal Design Focus G ATX Mid Tower Case $62.98 @ Newegg Power Supply EVGA BQ 600 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply $74.45 @ Walmart Monitor MSI Optix G241 23.8" 1920x1080 144 Hz Monitor $189.99 Keyboard Corsair K55 RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard $49.88 @ Amazon Mouse Logitech G203 Prodigy Wired Optical Mouse $32.65 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1177.65 Mail-in rebates -$20.00 Total $1157.65 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-04-29 01:24 EDT-0400 I'd appreciate any general advice about the build, but also have one specific question: On PCPartPicker, it says there could be potential incompatibility issues between the CPU and motherboard because the mobo might need a driver update. Does this model have this issue? He wouldn't have a spare second gen Ryzen CPU sitting around.

So I'm picking parts for a PC that I'm building for my friend and I settled for a ryzen 3600 and an rx 5700 xt, which I'm going to install in either an Asus b450-f gaming or Msi b450 Tomahawk Max motherboard. My problem is that I don't know if these motherboards support 3600mhz ram for zen 2 CPUs. I checked their Qualified Vendors List and it says that it supports the memory I want (Corsair RGB 16GB, CMW16GX4M2C3600C18), but I've read in some forums that people haven't been able to make their systems run stabily with the same motherboards @3600mhz. Can anyone confirm that these b450 motherboards indeed support 3600mhz memory as the manufacturers state? I trouble with memory support in my old zen 1 PC and I don't want my friend to go through the same nightmare. [link to both motherboards QVL list] - https://imgur.com/gallery/y2M8FEX Thanks

Hello, that is my first gaming pc that I am building and I really need some help! I just want to check if this "configuration" is any good for the pc to run games at 1080p without issues. I am mostly playing Rainbow 6, but planning on getting some other games later on. before buying this system can anyone tell me if it is any good and if you have any other recommendations I am happy to hear them. PS: keep in mind I live in the middle east and prices are a little bit higher over here, and we don't have all the parts available. Thanks It costs around ±950

What do you think about my PC components? Are they compatible with each other? Recently, I've been doing research about PC components and I chose this: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-H CPU: Intel Core i3-7100 Kaby Lake GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti Windforce OC RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8GB DDR4 Power: Sentey XCP-530W HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB 7200RPM SSD: Toshiba OCZ TR150 120GB SATA Case: Corsair Carbide 100R Those were the main components, but I chose some more that are "less important": Cooling: Corsair Hydro H60 <or> Zalman CNPS9900 Max; Cooler Master Blade Master 120 PWM <or> Corsair Air AF120 Performance Peripherals: Cooler Master Devastator II Kit; JVC HA-RX700 <or> HyperX Cloud Drone Monitor: LED 22" Full HD 1080p (any brand) Sound: Creative Sound Blaster Z 5.1 It's the first time that I "build" a PC and yes, I did research, but I wanted a 2nd opinion from more experimented people, that's why I made this post. If someone can help me about the compatibility or by suggesting better components (at around the same price) I would appreciate it. Also, it's necessary to say that I live in Argentina (South America), so maybe some products that you suggest aren't available here, while all the components that I chose are.

I am making a new computer and I am new and bad it doing it. "Build" https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qzsB7h Can someone pls help and check if everything is compatible? I tried but it was pretty confusing. Also if some can suggest cheaper alternatives to parts without changing the performance by much it would be appreciated. And if I were to change my ATX motherboard to a cheaper micro ATX then can someone suggest the motherboard and parts that would be compatible?

Hi, I have a Asus Z10PE-D8 "server" motherboard, where i am looking to find more ram too. There for i have found a memory support list on asus page Memory support list where i can see som supported memory What i ask is, at my work we are HPE partneres and get some good prices on HPE spare parts, where i can get J9P82AT (HP 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4-2133 MHz ECC Registered RAM) but since it is not listed on the asus memory support page, will they fit?? Thanks!

I need help... I currently live in China and I'm trying to order RAM online, I found this one as the most popular one on the site so I thought I should trust it. The comments were great and the feedback were great... However, there's a special statement saying that intel CPU's won't work with it? I don't understand it.. My mobo is H61M-E Asus and the CPU I'm planning to get is the i5-3570. This is the specification on the Asus website about the Mobo " 2 x DIMM, Max. 16GB, DDR3 2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory Dual Channel Memory Architecture * 1600MHz and higher frequency is supported by Intel® 3rd generation processors.* Refer to www.asus.com or user manual for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).* Due to OS limitation, when installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows® 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Install a 64-bit Windows® OS when you want to install 4GB or more memory on the motherboard.* Due to the CPU behavior, DDR3 2133/1866MHz memory module will run at DDR3 2000/1800MHz frequency as default. " Can anyone explain to me why the seller said that it won't work with intel CPU's? I'm fairly new to this so I don't quite understand what is going on I know that my RAM specs are DDR3 and the frequency I'm planning to get is 1333. Over 13,000 people have bought this so it must be good, right? The only thing I'm wondering about is why it would not work on my Mobo or CPU. Thanks in advance~

Hi everyone, I'm currently in the process of building my first PC and there's the subject of bottlenecks that I've been researching for a while now. I understand what it means and how I should be careful choosing the components to reduce bottlenecks as much as possible, but my problem is that aside from reviews, benchmarks and experiences, there aren't specific values/specs within CPU models of the same tier to use for determining the level of bottlenecking. It's mostly relative. By different tiers I mean, for example, that the probability of an i3 bottlenecking a GTX 1080 is obviously higher than an i7 for example. But looking at different i7 models with the same number of cores such as i7-4790 vs. i7-6700K vs. i7-7700, you can tell which is better in performance, but you cannot know without experience to which extent they bottleneck a Titan X Pascal for instance. So by going with an i7-4790, you cannot know how much you're compromising performance for price unless you try the other CPUs (or someone else does and shows you the results). Here's why I'm having trouble: Now I'm a student on a budget, but at the same time I take my time saving to get good components for high-end gaming. I recently won a Titan XP (I know, lucky bastard!) and am determined to build a PC around it. I was going for an i7-7700K CPU, but looking at the other options I think I can get a cheaper CPU which performs good enough with this GPU playing on Full HD to 4K (preferably 4K). I love a good game experience and even though obviously appreciate higher fps, 60 fps is 2x more than I'm used to, so for me it's just great! So I cannot really tell if an i7-4790 or even an AMD FX-8350, which is waaaayyy cheaper, will bottleneck the crap out of the Titan XP. Bottom line: I don't have so much money to spend, but I don't want to go too cheap on the Titan XP and lose its advantage over say the GTX 1080. If you have any suggestions on which CPUs I should look at that are within a budget of a student and are able to carry the weight of a Titan, please do tell! But also if you have advice on how I should approach this bottleneck check, I would really appreciate your input. I don't have much experience in this, so I appreciate any feedback. Cheers, Mud
