So i recently purchased a new macbook pro with the m1 chip. Awesome display but I noticed Light areas of the screen will bleed into black areas of the screen. For example if I full screened a black image with white text in the middle, The text would bleed light into the black areas causing somewhat of an Aura around the text. Is this a common thing on these new screen technologies? I never noticed it on my old macbook or even my newish lg IPS monitor.

(Well this post isn't really for me but for a friend. Basically he has sold his RTX 2060 MSI which came pre-built into his PC, and bought another GPU the 1050ti which prior was working fine as I even tested it in my system._ The issue is that when he boots his PC up there is a black screen and no video output seems to be displaying on the monitor which was just working when the 2060 was in the system It gives an audio response on the headphones like a beep but no display at all even through connecting it to the CPU. 0 Video Output seems to be coming up no bios or anything Everything turns on like lights, GPU fans CPU etc a noise is also heard through headset a bit different to how it used to be when turned on then nothing else, no audio output from windows or anything The PC I believe s a prebuilt MSI infinite S I believe and it has a i5-9400F CPU, which I think it has no integrated graphics however we tried plugging in a HDMI cable into the motherboard output and that also still has a black screen with no video being detected by the monitor. The GPU has been tried with a Display Port and HDMI and they seem to not have worked He's tried: Reseating the GPU (until it clicks into place) Connecting into the CPU Using different cables in the GPU I'd try and help but he lives a bit far and I don't really have a car Thanks for the help guys in advance

Hello I build my pc around 2 years ago and have this problem for the last 2 weeks. My pc will turn itself off and on in a split second when i have to much usb's in the back of my mothetboard. I tried to look for something that could short but there is nothing to find. I also switched out motherboard, ram and gpu with known good parts from a friend. I am at a loss cause i cant seem to find the problem. I brought my pc to a local shop and they found that one of my hdd was making problems with windows. After this i went home and it did the same thing. Everything i tested was in: Remnant from the ashes; but the only option i have left is that my cpu or my powersupply is bad. Does anybody know what it could be? My systen: Ryzen 7 3800x 1080 ti evga X570 aorus elite (is now the a520 cause my normal motherboard is send back for rma) 1 m.2 2 ssd's A new hdd 750w gold powersupply -
Greetings. My PC developed an issue where on startup the desktop background is blacked out. I can still open task manager using CTRL SHIFT ESC. The windows key on keyboard has no function. I can only open programs by manually finding the application on the hard drive. After roughly 10mins of waiting, everything goes back to normal. Desktop reappears, all applications on startup load correctly. Problem reoccurs every 2 weeks or so...? What could be the cause? I updated my GPU to be sure it isn't a driver issue. So I recently upgraded from a R9 380 to a RX 580 (got the card cheap at 150$ CAD from a colleague who managed to upgrade at MSRP for a 3080ti). However, it seems like it's only given me worse performance in everything. The card overheats extremely easily. I had a look at various threads and it seems these XFX cards all have temps issues. I'm talking idling at above 40°c and running hot in older games that should absolutely not be taxing a card like that. Now if it was only that, I probably wouldn't mind but I can tell the card is clearly throttling. I will consistently get black screens as soon as the card reaches 75°c (at least that's what Afterburner reports), which should be far below any kind of overheating protection. To also be somewhat fair to the card, I'm running on a triple 1080p monitor setup, and AMD drivers have had longstanding issues with multi monitor setups. I should also note that when it comes to the black screens, the black out will always only happen on my main monitor, as it's the one running the game, and the screen will come back after a few seconds. The computer doesn't freeze or lock up or anything, it just makes my main screen go black. Now, I just saw the thread about these kind of issues (https://linustechtips.com/topic/898055-black-screen-gpu-fans-at-full-speed-crash-fixed/) and it does seem to apply. The guy who sold it to me told me about a possible fan issue on the card, however from my quick investigating thus far, the fans are running just fine. I also saw that Afterburner might also be at issue here and in need of a reinstall. There's also always the possibility that my PSU is the one at fault here, however, the TDP of the card is actually the same as the previous one, and having had absolutely no issues after 3-4 years with the previous card, I don't think it's as likely to be the culprit here (it is however possibly quite tight on it's overhead, as it's a CMX 600W). But before doing any of that, especially dismantling the cooler on the card, I would like some confirmation and other opinions about this. I have kept the 380 and will most likely try testing reswapping the cards to check on the temperatures and performance. The card is a XFX RX 580 Black OC+ 1386 (specifying this because XFX has a number of OC variants). -
Hi guys, I've been experiencing some very unusual GPU behaviour in the last 2 months. Unfortunately I don't know when/how it started. In games I have started getting small artefacts appear which usually leads to a game crash within 2 minutes of starting a game. However if I run FurMark before running a game, letting FurMark crash due to this weird behaviour, then all is well and no artefacts appear. Would anybody have any idea what is causing this? So I'm a new PC builder. I bought my own parts and made the pc as i felt confident that i could make it without many issues. In November I bought everything apart form a GPU as the prices were too high to justify. However, on the weekend I bought a brand new RTX3060 ti from gigabyte. I am unsure what I have done wrong but at first when I try to run games the screen would go black for everytime I moved, the game was PUBG. Then I tried restarting my pc to no avail. Lastly I tried turning down the resolution of the game to 1080p form 1440p but the game is now in the top left side of my monitor. Any help is urgent as I do not have the slightest clue what is going on, let alone how to fix it. I can provide whatever information is necessary to help, also I live in the UK so I'm about to go to sleep so any advice I'll use in the morning. One last thing, be as explanative as possible as I'm new to PC's and only have a basic idea at what I'm doing, hence the situation I'm in. Cheers everyone.

I have a problem, when I open or close a video in discord in full screen, my first monitor is turning off and after a sec on. On my second monitor it's working fine. Same if I have Android subsystem on my first screen, everytime I move mouse it's going dark, and it's working fine on my second monitor. I have updated my gpu drivers and still the same. Any solutions?

CPU i7-10700K CPU @ 3.80GHz, 3792 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s) GPU 5600 XT 6GB MotherBoard MAG B460M MORTAR WIFI (MS-7C82) 16 GB DDR4 Win 10 64 CPU is new and GPU is off hand for a friend at MSRP _________________________________________________ When Idle or soon after booting up VR games with virtual desktop for VR streaming my computer backscreens (Whilst using VR Mark PC does not black screen nor whilst playing CSGO) . win+shift+cntrl+B doesnt work to restart GPU drivers when this happens. CPU and GPU temps dont go higher than 65-70 when playing VR games. Previously had a GTX 1860 that I used for a time with no similar issues. I am now noticing occasional screen tearing even when computer is idle. I have installed new BIOS updates and have switched to the previous drivers for my GPU, Ive used AMDs driver removal software and reinstalled drivers, same issues persist. Ive also only installed the GPU drivers exclusively (not using software that AMD provides, adrenaline). At a loss as what to do, would like tips or software I can use to help narrow down the issue im having. P.S. this is my first post so any tips on formatting or any other information I could provide to make it easier would be appreciated

Hi. Today I was playing CoD Warzone and I got some wierd black screens. When I died and tried to go back to the lobby I got a black screen and the app closed without any error message. While playing everything was normal (no overheating, normal FPS...). And a few minutes back from now the same happened while trying to open DaVinci Resolve (the screen went black and the app crashed with no error message). I have no idea what could cause that because it wasnt happening until today. I checked my pc for malware and found a trojan and deleted it but this didnt fix the problem. I have been facing an issue for the past month and a half that really been eating at my nerves. There are a few programs (such as Premiere Pro and League of Legends) that when I run, make my PC's screen go black around every 5 seconds, or whenever I move the mouse of press the keyboard. I am currently running Windows 11 with all the latest graphics drivers for my 3060ti. This issue really impedes my work and makes these programs pretty much unusable. I also am pretty sure this is not related to the Windows 11 update as I was facing this problem while on Windows 10 too.

I built my Desktop PC 1.5 years ago: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT ASUS TUF Edition 16GB Kit (8GB x2) SSD: Crucial P1 500GB NVME PCIe GPU: ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB GDDR6 HDD: Seagate 2 TB (Second hand purchase) MB: ASUS Prime X570-P PSU: Cool master MWE GOLD 650 Case: White Cool Master Mid-Tower ( don't know the model got it second hand) OS: Windows 10PRO (May 2021 Update) Monitor: Samsung 32" UJ32590UQE A couple of weeks ago my son starting to complain that the computer would crash while playing "rainbow six siege" or "War Thunder", so troubleshooting started. The symptoms are: Screen goes black "ON" led in the case remains on Fans for GPU and CPU are off (not spinning) If I keep the "ON" button pressed it will not shutdown nor reset, same the reset button is unresponsive it happens randomly while playing games ( Rainbow six siege, war thunder and Mechwarrior Mercenaries 5, Age of empires 4) So Troubleshooting started: Spot checked temps CPU and GPU ( not much higher than 60degC the couple times I checked Cleaned dust from motherboard, GPU, CPU FAN and cooler( with compressed air), reseated RAM and GPU. Problem continued, next steps: used DDU to remove GPU drivers ( had Adrenalin 21.11.1 which was the latest) Installed Adrenalin 21.11.1 only driver Problem continued, next steps: Performed Fresh install Windows 10 21H2 Installed all latest drivers ( AMD Ryzen, MB drivers, ASUS armoury crate) Installed Adrenalin 21.8.2 WHQL (Full) Fresh install of all games Problem continued, next steps: Removed XMP profile . Problem continued, next steps: Updated BIOS to version 4021 from 1404 Problem continues and I'm out of ideas of what before starting to swap parts, and would be complicated as I Don't have any other Desktop at home. Morning! Ill start by telling the issue followed by the spec: Installed my new GPU from a 5600xt to a 6700xt, bit temperamental getting it to display an image, however, after using DDU and reinstalling the drivers it seemed to work. I started by playing some games, worked fine for about an hour? then all of a sudden the screen went black, and now whenever I restart or turn on the PC it shows no image. I can hear windows booting in, making all the sounds if I mash the keyboard, but nothing displayed. GPU Fans are spinning, so I assume it's running? When I connect my 5600xt back up, everything comes back to life. I have it connected via the pigtail 2 x 8 pin connector, to: 550w corsair PSU. Ryzen 5 5600x 32gb ram (4 x 8gb ddr4 3000mhz) Asrock B450M Steel Legend AIO Cooler 1 x NVME 1TB 1 x SSD 256gb 5 x 120mm fans

before this error gave even in games, but now it stopped and it only happens in sony vegas and after effects I don't know why...(If anyone can explain it to me) I did 2 tests , the first test I uninstalled all amd video card drivers from scratch And I went to open the program repair at the beginning of the video and I press the right mouse button and it doesn't show the radeon symbol, because I uninstalled all the drivers No video drivers installed -> It worked normal notice that at the end of the video, the image appears in the after effects and can be edited by moving it so everything is ok. Then I decided to install the most recent amd driver , I installed normal , restarted the pc and that was it I went to open the after effects program after having installed the latest amd driver Look at the beginning of the video I press the right mouse button and the radeon symbol appears, which means that the video card driver is installed. With video drivers installed -> So I went to open the program and the black screen starts flashing and the program is already having problems So I'll try to open the program again And when this is not the case, the screen blinks, and the program opens normally, I put an image or video that does not appear in the program. Precisely because the screen blinked, if it hadn't blinked, the program would be working normally. Before to be able to stop this, I used the msi afterburner to decrease the clock, and the program worked normally, but now not even afterburne is solving anymore. I have formatted the computer 3 times , even so it continues , there are people who say that it can be several possibilities , but I do not know .... What can someone help me:? what can I do? Just put in a new gpu (zotac gtx 1660 super.) Ever since then, whenever I minimize or maximize Chrome or MS Edge while a YT video is playing or paused, then screen will go black. See video any help for a beginner? I'm not sure if my title was descriptive enough but basically my issue doesn't occur at all while gaming it mostly seems to happen when using software such as Premier or Unity. What happens is that my computer freezes then the screen blinks black for few seconds I lose connection on my second monitor completely but my main one stays connected. Sound also keeps playing through the whole thing. After the black screen my task bar and wallpaper are completely black but I can still interact with them and get them back by restarting the file explorer thing through task manager. Also if I don't restart after the black screen my GPU seems to max out at 1% usages in every software including games meaning my performance is very low and often running anything heavier just causes another black screen. When the black screen happens it also crashes every single software that uses my GPU I presume? Such as Blender, Unity, Premier etc. but not my browser, Steam etc. I first thought my GPU was overheating as it is pretty hot summer but checking the temps right before the crash happened showed them at only around 60 degrees max which doesn't seem too high. CPU was also a similar story. I have no idea whats causing this and I've already done the following with no help; ran malware software which found nothing, opened my case and cleansed it from all dust, updated my bios, updated all drivers and reinstalled some of them, ran the windows memory check thing, ran the windows repair thing through cmd, tried running stress tests which most of them just straight up cause the same black screen. Only thing that seemed to reduce it a bit was running less software meaning if I only had one heavier software open sometimes it didn't crash at all. It also came into my mind that what if it is just my PSU failing, as it is like 5 years old at this point but I have no way to check if that's causing it because I don't have any extra parts. So my windows 10 did an update on my pc and i had an issue with it once it was updated i got to the log in screen log on and them the screen would go black with the cursor being the only thing on screen i managed to uninstall the update but i want to know if i updated again would this happen again is there something wrong with it am i missing something. My pc has a x570 aorus elite and the ryzen 7 3700 gpu is an asus rog strix 1070 with 16gb ram

My PC crashes on some games, seemingly randomly. What happens is the screen will go black and like a second of the last audio heard will loop for a couple seconds then my screen will go black. When this happens I cannot shut my PC down using the button on the case, I have to turn it off at the power point. I've read online that it could be something to do with my thermal paste on my graphics card. It happens on games that my PC should be able to run(will post specs at end of post). It has NEVER happened on any 2d games. List of affected games: CSGO (happens even on lowest graphic settings) Trackmania (epic games) Portal 2 Halo 2 anniversary (only happened 1 time, I think this is just cause the graphics are really good) Halo 4 (didn't happen at all the first few times I beat the game, started recently) Sims 4 (started after recent update) Cities: Skylines Spore Roblox (only some games are affected) This is strange as some of these games have very old graphics (Spore, CSGO). I think its strange CSGO doesn't run on lowest graphics, but I can run Valorant on medium graphics just fine. Also Portal 2 ran for longer before it happened when I turned graphics down slightly. Hi, When I boot up my pc my R9 390 shows a black back-lit screen after posting. I hear the windows sound that the login screen is displaying. Removing the drivers in safe mode using ddu let's me use my computer normally. I'm able to install the drivers connecting my screen to the on-board graphics. The moment I connect my screen it crashes. Before I could run occp or other software to test it it crashed. Possible causes: - I somehow damaged it while replacing the thermal paste. I don't think so but first time I did it after 5years... used noctua nt h1 which is nonconductive. - I damaged it when the case wasn't properly grounded. The outlet in my new house wasn't properly grounded and shocked me when I touched the case. Disconnected everything soon after and fixed the grounding. - I did a windows cumulative update around that time and it broke the driver or something. Using a system restore point didn't fix it. What i tried: - Tried using a displayport instead of the hdmi connection. - updated windows, bios, and gpu bios. Installing older drivers, system restore points. - Installing the driver while using the on-board graphics. Testing vram with occp while using the on-board graphics as display. Ran it for 1min and it completed normally, but crashed when I tried it a second time, or when I tried to run it for 1h. - Disabled windows energy saving setting for pci. - Tried different pci slot - cleaned and reapplied the thermal paste again. Checked for anything out of place. - I installed another harddrive as well before it gave me this problem, disconnected all extra harddrives keeping only my boot ssd. - checked the voltages in bios and everything seems ok. Changed one of the power cables to another psu "slot" that was free. Specs: I5 6500 Sapphire R9 390 trix Seasonic m12II evo 620w bronze Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2H Kingston 16GB 2133 Only thing left to try is baking the card I think. Any other suggestion besides buying a new system? Thanks

When I boot my computer i get a black screen. It is black from 15 minutes to an hour+. When the black screen goes away the computer works perfectly fine after and doesn’t crash. I’ve updated all drivers, bios and windows. I’ve also reset my bios and cmos. When I take my gpu out and plug my hdmi cable into my igpu I don’t get a black screen which makes it seem like there is something wrong with my gpu. This doesn’t seem to be a mechanical problem since the gpu works perfectly fine once the black screen goes away. I’ve contacted nvidia and they said it seems to be a mechanical issue but I really don’t believe that since it works fine after the black screen. They also said to check my gpu on another pc to see if it’s the gpu or the pci slot but I have no way of doing that. I’ve literally tried everything and nothing works. This forum is my last hope and I really hope someone can help me with this issue. I have a GeForce 1050ti and my motherboard is a Gigabyte a320-s2h

I completed my pc build around a month ago, and everything worked fine for a bit. I couldn't get my hands on a 30-series card yet, so my friend lent me an old EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB SSC GPU, which worked great. Very recently, my friend got his hands on a 3070ti, and let me borrow his EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB card. After installing it, I've been running into some problems. My monitor connected through the GPU's DisplayPort would go black, but I could still hear sounds from my game or whatever application was open. The first time this happened, I was in a Valorant comp match, and the screen showed no signal, sounds continued playing, I could still use my mic, and the GPU fan revved up to 100% speeds from what it sounded like. Over the last few days, it's been happening more frequently, and sometimes when the PC is under virtually no load at all (only being on discord). It'll also just randomly shut off by it self without warning, and just reboot itself. I've been going through forums and posts about other people with the same problem as me, and the general consensus is that it's a faulty GPU or PSU. Do I need to reapply thermal paste on the GPU, or replace the PSU? I've reseated everything I could and made sure the connections weren't loose, reinstalled drivers, etc, but it still continues to happen. Okay. I'm out of ideas, so maybe someone here can help me. I'm helping my brother build a pc, and here's the issue we're having. His GPU is a nvidia GTX 690. We just go a new mobo and cpu for him. It's a MSI Z390a- pro and a core i7-9700f. The problem is, when we connect via the GPU, all the bells and whistles start but the system refuses to post. We see a black screen with a blinking underscore before the underscore stops and moves to somewhat the middle of the screen and stops blinking. We get a solid white VGA error light on the mobo. We've tried looking up troubleshooting problems and a lot of the issue we see with the mobo is that it only posts with HDMI. thankfully, I had some old amd 5700 GPUs with HMDI outputs. Plug that in instead and BOOM the system posts. I installed windows, updated the bios, got all the other drivers installed and it's fine. Everything works, but the system refuses to boot when we plug in is gtx 690 GPU, we get the same error light and black screen. It's only booting up when I put in my old and 5700 and not just the HDMI port, it boots in the DVI too. The GTX 690 GPU is not new and was just working in his old pc which was a old as shit dell server mobo... don't ask me what it was, I have no idea. For some reason it's unable to work on this new mobo. I'm open tk suggestions.

hey I was playing a game when the black screen crash happened and I did restart my pc ( This didn't happen before for 2 months and before that it was about like per 10 12 hours usage once) here is the log of when crash happened https://ufile.io/20essvq9 when I log in . my memory and clock was stuck at low very low as you can see in log . Hi everyone. Due to the new update of the valorant anti cheat, a friend of mine needed to enable tpm 2.0 and secure boot, once the computer restarted it showed black screen and no POST, so we tried to unplug the cable from the power, turn off the power supply from the switch, remove the CMOS battery for 30 seconds and put it back, once restarted nothing has changed. So we tried to remove the battery for about 30 minutes and reset the CMOS from the clr_cmos jumper. Always black screen. Any type of help is appreciated. Specs: CPU: Intel i5-8400F GPU: XFX RX 570 8GB RAM: 2x8GB DDR4 MOBO: H310m S2H 2.0 SSD & HDD.
