(Repost) I am going off college beginning of august. I'm looking for windows laptops with at least a 30 series card, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. This laptop needs to have good battery life for when I am out and about using various CAD programs, capable of running video games at decent speeds (probably when plugged in), good cooling, and a relatively small size. I would preferably like to stay in the $1200-$1800 range with around $2000 being my absolute cap. I know that finding a laptop with all these requirements is a little tough and if sacrificing one of them is needed, then so be it. Thanks in advance for the help!

Budget (including currency): $1000+ us Country: usa Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: revit Other details Currently working at company that is using citrix workspace. They moved the switch to virtual machines before their move to Revit. it is a little slow when using Revit and would like to give them some options to maybe moving back to Single user single machine. Looking to build a revit machine that can handle huge models, not worried about rendering just the workflow. the budget for this project is $1000us but would also like to see what the best of the best would be also and if it would be worth the differance. 3 monitors 4k not needed to be in build price. Thank you

Budget (including currency): < 2700 (excluding taxes) (CAD) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: FPS (COD), Battlefield, WOW, Diablo 3 (and 4), Autocad, Fusion 360 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Currently have I no PC, parts, peripherals, etc. Clean slate build from the ground up. I plan on spending roughly 700 CAD peripherals to support the build leaving roughly 2000 on to build the pc (plus tax). I plan on buying in the next 1-3 months. In the future would I would like the ability to run dual monitors (when using specific program like auto cad etc but not all the time). I would like the pc to be somewhat upgradeable so I can keep it semi-capable for the next 1-4 years minimum.

So i've made a post about two to three weeks ago raging about why AutoDesk is split up into ~10 programs and how long it would take to uninstall (Decided to get it on my desktop, my laptop can't run Inventor for crap) Problem is now after hours if clicking uninstall 5 of the programs are being stubborn, - Autodesk ReCap 360 - Autodesk License Service (X64) - 3.1 - Autodesk Inventor Professional 2017 - English - Autodesk Inventor Electrical Catalog Browser 2017 - English - Autodesk DWG TrueView 2017 - English I'm about ready to install some other program to get rid of these. If you have any ideas on how to delete them please tell me. (And no it's not my drive, My laptop has a Kingston v300 120GB ssd)

Hello LTT forum. I'm trying to install inventor in my Laptop but my boot ssd doesn't have the space to do so sadly. In the Autodesk Desktop app I set my install and content directory to my D: drive to no avail... It just continues to say that I haven't have the space on my C: drive to install it. Is autodesk products forced C: drive only or something? Cheers to anyone that can help.

Hi, I am currently running a basic, and oddly balanced (i'll explain later) system that I use for school and gaming. I have worked with Inventor and Solidworks on it with little to no issue in the past but recently I started using flow simulations and have had some problems. The system becomes incredibly unresponsive, everything is stutters, the programs crash from time to time, and it basically prevents me from doing work. My specs are listed below and in depth on my profile and I basically am looking for recommendations for upgrades. I am a student on a tight budget - $400 CAD. Specs: AMD FX-8350 (got free from family with a HP AM3+ mobo), 8gb DDR3 ram, Radeon R7 360 gpu, Corsair CX600m psu, Corsair H60 AIO cooler, 2 Bitfenix spectre pro fans, 2 arctic cooling rev 1.2 rans, nzxt fan controller, all inside a bitfenix prodigy m case.

I recently downloaded AutoCAD 2018 and Inventor Pro 2018 for school. I downloaded AutoCAD on my SSD and Inventor Pro on my HDD. Inventor Pro opens faster than AutoCAD does and this confuses me. It's a larger program that does primarily 3D modeling and it is on my slower drive. AutoCAD is smaller that does primarily 2D modeling and is on my faster drive. How is this? My SSD is fine, I know so because I've moved games to it from my HDD with drastic improvements. Could this be an optimization thing? CPU: Intel i5-6500 (Skylake) GPU: 1060 6GB RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 SSD: Adata SP550 128GB HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB

So recently i had to install a program called AutoDesk Inventor on my laptop for a welding class at my school, however a 10Gb download latter i keep getting errors when i try to run it and eventually gave up and started using the potato's my school provides. problem now is i can't uninstall it for what seems like no reason leaving me with 10gb of unusable space on my laptop. How do i uninstall this? and can it be done without installing anything from a 3rd party? I want everything from AutoDesk gone. (Core i5 560 (2.7Ghz) and Kingston v300 120gb ssd so my hardware shouldn't be an issue here)

laptop Medium Budget Laptop for ArcGIS, Mild AutoDesk
Guest posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Primary software to be running- ArcGIS, AutoDesk. I won't bother about the brand because brands don't vary. They go up and down both according to the components assembling matter. So it's better to ask what I need? and the brands best valued for my need. As you see that AutoDesk is a power hungry software and I won't obviously go for a $1000 laptop. So asking you for a medium budget laptop accordingly INR currency. Please suggest one within the range of 35,000-40,000 INR. Good afternoon, I am having an inconvenience to be able to change the place of the installation of Alias, when I try to change the disk where I want to install the window to select on which disk I can install continues to appear, I will attach a video clip so you can see a little What's the matter, I appreciate the help. (I know that a quick solution could be to clear the space on disk C, but it really doesn't make sense to remove Adobe programs that are working perfectly) In advance I appreciate the help you can give me. 2019-08-10-14-24-21523.mp4

This is a subject that has been covered many times, but never really got to the bottom off by anyone on YT. Im a 3D designer that works with Revit and Autocad Architecture, building 3D models from the ground up, my files are usually no bigger than 35mb. Can a gaming laptop work as well as a QUADRO workstation laptop, and does the most powerful always mean better user experience? Building and rotating a 3D model works well on some laptops and worse on others that may have, on paper, better specs, this contradicts what the manufacturers are telling us. More power, more productivity, isnt that how it works. What i would like to do would be to install ACA and Revit onto various laptops and use them and see what runs the best. I feel the actual issue here and why its a minefield has nothing to do with the best QUADRO or the best CPU, maybe there is a compatibility sweet spot for hardware thats specific to different software packages. Or maybe its far simpler, AUTODESK software is just buggy. This would be a helpful discovery. I want to get away from the dreaded 'workstation' price tag, and im sure many other AUTODESK users would as well. As a side note i feel there is a difference between real time 3d model building and rendering and how tour system will perform. Any thoughts peeps

I just modeled this house and was ready to put on a roof when I encountered this problem. The house is colonial style (yes it needs shutters) and I wanted there to be an overhanging roof in the front, as well as pillars. It seems as though the roof overhang does not want to work on the left side, it keeps cutting it short. No matter how long I make the overhang or how short I make it, the overhang is still cutting short. I have no idea what the problem is... Can anyone help?

Hey all, I'm graduating engineering college in 1 semester and got a job in architecture/mechanical systems design (yay me). This job allows me to occasionally work at home, so I'd like to be able to have the best possible WORKING and GAMING experience with my own PC. Budget is a non-issue, but I'd like to say within a reasonable price/performance ratio. At work I'll be using: Autodesk Revit - Contains very, very large building 3D models. AutoCad - Contains simple 2D floor plans and city utilities. Multiple different PDF Softwares - Editing and "marking-up" very high resolution PDFs. When I game, I usually go for: newer-ish game titles, high to ultra settings, 1080p, 60 fps-144 fps (depending if on my monitor or TV) I've been interning at this place for the past 8 months now and the work computer they supplied me is the oldest one in the office and frankly sub-par. Yet it can still handle the software, just much slower than my standards. Specs of my supplied office computer: Intel i7 4770 3.40GHz, 24.0GB Dual channel DDR3 - 798MHz, 1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 8570, 931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 I'm aware all of the "slow" things can be supplemented with a decent sized SSD, and I plan to ask for one in my office computer. HOWEVER it still has bad, choppy FPS in the Revit model on low graphical settings. I just wanted to show you this information because despite the software being complicated, its still usable on an older, mediocre computer. Now, onto the main point of this thread: What should I upgrade in my PC to get the best possible performance in my gaming and work software? My current PC: Intel 6600k @ 4.20GHz, 16GB DDR4 2400MHz, 8GB GTX 1070, 500GB 850 EVO SSD & 2TB HD 7200rpm (Full build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cqYqXP ) Here is what Autodesk Revit recommends https://knowledge.autodesk.com/certified-graphics-hardware although, not the best card recommendations for price/performance or gaming. Thanks, I appreciate feedback

Hi all, I am working in AV Industry and extensively work on Autodesk Revit and Autodesk AutoCAD. Now, rendering Walkthroughs are going to become a new normal in my work. So, I need some help as to what PC components to go with or atleast what specs do I need to have a Quick render of the walkthrough of my project. Do "cores" or "GHz Speed" matters for 3D rendering? What level of graphics card do I need? How much RAM do I need? I want a PC under 2000USD. Thanks!

Recently my brother ask me to recommend some spec. so i'm plan build with spec below: Motherboard MSI B350 PC MATE CPU AMD Ryzen™ 5 2400G Cooler Wraith Spire RAM G-Skill Sniper X DDR4 3000MHz 16GB SSD SSD M.2 SSD 2280 MS30 HDD WD BLUE 3.5 64MB 6GB/s 1Tb PSU GAMEMAX GP-400W POWER SUPPLY Case DeepCool Tesseract SW-RD So my question: 1. does autodesk app support APU?

Lately, I have been using Fusion 360. It's been great, but when I render a model, it would pin my CPU at 100% instead of my GPU. Why is that and how change it to render using my GPU instead? Thanks

Hi, Just wanting to know whether my i7 4790K CPU is will still be capable to run games, render and encode well for the next 5 years? So far I've notice high CPU temps around 30 to 40 degrees in games like a Fortnite but wasnt sure if its related to the early access optimisation. Also Watch dogs 2, Witcher 3 and GTA V which are more demanding titles. Running these around high and very high settings at 1080p and hitting around 60-120 FPS. My GPU and cooler I'm using is Nvidias GTX 980ti and Corsair's H100i cooler. I'm also a Architect student mainly using Autodesk Revit which is more CPU demanding regarding rendering. Also encoding media files via handbrake alot. Will my CPU last over 5 years for 1080p gaming, or should I upgrade to Intel's i7 8700k for productivity for work? Cheers.

I'm looking for some help with a system that I want to be primarily for 3D Modeling with tools like AutoCad. My current rig (i7-7700k/32gig/GTX1080/Samsung EVO 960 Pro) is top notch for gaming, but really bogs down fast with 3D modeling in several programs (123D, AutoCad). Looking for some guidance as to where to go from either my current build, or a completely new one. Budget would be as high as ~3000$ USD. I've included a complete dump of my current system specs from HWInfo Much thanks for any suggestions Scott.Little_Rig.LOG

Whenever I try to launch revit 2017 or 2018 on my laptop I get the launch error "the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect". I though I had found the solution in the laptop only running Windows 10 Home which isn't stated as being compatible, but then I saw a person from my study group launch it and he is also running Windows 10 Home. I have so far uninstalled and reinstedlled about 5 times, with no result. As well as install different versions of Visual C++ also with no results. If you have any ideas on how I can fix this I would love to hear it.

I'm sure this question get's asked a lot so i'll keep this quick. I'm hunting for a laptop before the holiday season with at least a 6700hq and gtx 1050 (as much vram as possible) with an ips display (or aftermarket ips upgrade option) for under $800 (asking for a lot honestly) i'm considering a Dell 7577 but the display is a dealbreaker. any recommendations? https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-i5577-5328BLK-PUS-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B06XFG7157/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1511578011&sr=1-3&keywords=gtx+1050+laptop (I want to stick to reputable companies, Dell, HP, LG, Asus, etc) (upgrading from a latitude E4310, buisness class laptops are pathetic...)
