http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-330-AS So I just got an alert this morning with this deal...and I am seriously amazed. Nearly £100 off and it comes with a free pair of Asus's Cerberus headset. There's 19 still in stock (as of this post), so anyone looking for a new beastly powerful GPU might want to consider this.

I have posted questions similar to this today and I just need a final answer now. I am getting a new gpu But idk if I should get a 290x, 290 or 780 There is an XFX 290 for $399 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=26347&cPath=877 An ASUS 780 for $599 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=24153&cPath=876 And an XFX 290x for $549 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=26345&cPath=877 I know the 290x the best performer the majority of the time. But I'm worried my pc wont have enough wattage. I have a Corsair RM650 PSU. Will my pc be able to run the 290x and what is the best "bang for my buck" Any help?

Hello. I have a Gigabyte R9 290x Windforce and I can only get around an 1100/1350 range overclock. Using Afterburner by the way. Any more than that and i start to get lots of weird artifacts, tearing and crashing. I was able to unlock Power limit (%) and up it to +50 but i cant manage to unlock Core Voltage (Mv) I think that should fix it right? because i have tons of thermal headroom left it only tops out at around 70C. Any tips or help appreciated.

ok, so i am looking into buying a pc, i am a newbie, and dont know too much of what i am doing. i have around $2500 to spend on a really high end pc. here is kind of what i have come up with after a bit of research. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yxKxbv i was thinking of maybe changing the gpu to a 2 way sli msi gtx 780 lightining i will be using this pc for gaming (mostly battlefield 4, crisis 3, watch dogs and all demanding good graphics pc games) i want to run all the games at ultra with all max settings, i will also be doing some video editing and music production but for music production i was thinking of getting a macbook pro but im not sure yet. i will be overclocking my gpu and cpu. and need help also on finiding a good gaming monitor with good colour density, grey to grey 1-2ms response time, less than 10 ms imput lag, and higher than 1080p resolution. and i aslo need a good gaming headset oh and i already have 2 monitors 1080p but i want a third one 1440p and the graphic(s) card should be able to support 3 monitors or 2 im willing to give one up and use my ps4 on it

Anybody know a fix to this? In GPU1 core clock you can see dips. This is while playing bf3. Each dip caused fps to drop from 80 to 30 and rocket back up. Causing a very annoying stutter like effect. I tried at stock clock (1050) and power, then stock with +20 power, then underclock with +20 Power. No fix. Temperature is at 70+/- range, way below auto underclock range. It can't be voltage or psu either because I tried mining and can go power -16 at stock clock with no dip... Any ideas? Thanks!

I heard it's bad to power a high-power consuming card like to 290x with multiple 12 volt rails on the psu, is that true? I am currently looking at the EVGA 750w 80+ Bronze PSU.

Hi. I'm from Germany and I created my account here, because I think you as an community could help me out better than anyone else. I'm asking you to be a little bit nicer about grammar and stuff because I'm convinced, I'm going to make mistakes. Oh lord, I probably already made a real fool outta myself, didn't I? So, this would be my first gaming orientated computer and I really don't prefer any brands whatsoever. I already spent quite some time trying to understand what is absolutely necessary and what isn't, but I still feel like a blind dude in a 3d movie. Considering it will be my first rig, I think its smarter to go a little bit more the conventional way, if you know what I mean. So, no LC Loops or other really cool but maybe a little to much for a first timer, gear. I'm most likely going to start with my build until november 2014. 1. Budget & Location My budget is roundabout 1800€ which is, as I write this, equal to 2322 USD. But considering that I, as an german, have to pay 19% taxes on everything its more about 1880 USD. There will be a slightly to noticeable difference in pricing, too. (At least, I think so) So I know this could add quite some difficulty to this, but I'm having good hopes. Location is Germany of course. =) 2. Aim The system is mostly going to be used for FPS titles like "BF 3/4" and should be abled, to be played maxed out on 1080p and above. I wan't to be as prepared as I can for titles like "Dying Light" or "GTA V" as well. 3. Monitors & Cases I'm planning on running a single monitor with 1080p-1600p maxed out on a single GPU system. I'm fine with 1080p for the beginning, since I still have an 60hz BenQ monitor from my Xbox. It won't be perfect but I could deal with this situation until I can afford the right one. Smoother, windowed cases with decent cooling options are prefered. I'm not a fan of those crazy wild ones. 4. Peripherals Mouse: Yes! Keyboard: Yes! Os: Yes! Monitor: Kind of, Yes! Headset: No! But in fact it could be a smarter idea, considering I'm living nearby an well sorted computer store, to check out such gear in person. Except monitors of course since I'm so new to all that. But I'm open for any suggestions, period. 5. Why are you upgrading? Because there is nothing relevant to upgrade on an Xbox One and I'm so tired of all the restrictions. ^^ 6. Personal thoughts I've never built a computer but I think I can do it, even if it means I have to struggle a little bit. I know two great german computer gear websites and I'm most likely going to order there because sadly our import taxes turn you into a poor man, if you do a little mistake. I'm also hoping, I'm not appearing like a complete dummy to you, because of my poor english. Please, excuse me! This is a link to a setup, I've thrown together but I can understand if nobody looks it up, since I'm a random outta the WWW. https://www.mindfactory.de/shopping_cart.php/basket_action/load_basket_extern/id/9aa9682200bc4b978447524ab6888549890a5b36eb718288406 There is still stuff, such as some cables, adapters etc. missing but there is also still quite some headroom for a mouse, keyboard and so on. Thanks for reading this! Because Retarded

As the title says, are we ever gonna see some serious price drop on the 700 series, so it might match the competition from AMD? According to my logic, since R9 290x is almost exactly the same as GTX 780 performance wise, the 780 should drop to a price point that is matching the 290x. Right? Do you think the real prices differences are gonna show when the 780 Ti hits the market?

Everyone should buy the R9 290 because it is only $259.99 on newegg.com (Here) Here are some benchmarks: Linus KitGuru They are beast overclockers, and 2 of them in CF is unbeatable in price to performance ratio.

This report comes directly from Forbes and is quite interesting maybe even a bit controversial. AMD is planning to crash Nvidia's Game24 event in which the GTX 980 and 970 are allegedly going to be revealed for the first time. And I use the term crash here literally rather than figuratively. AMD sent out a message to its fans asking them to attend the event while proudly wearing their colors. Full email below. AMD may also intend to crash the Maxwell party figuratively by releasing a new GPU or perhaps even more than one. We know that Tonga the GPU powering the R9 285 actually has 32 Compute Units amounting to 2048 stream processors so the R9 285 is not the full chip and an R9 285X will inevitably be released. But we've also recently seen a leak featuring an image of a yet unidentified GPU shroud with the same silver & black style of the R9 295X2 but very clearly intended to cool a single GPU card. Perhaps this is the fabled R9 295X or even the R9 390X ? We'll have to wait and see but the GPU wars are definitely heating up.

This is more of a lighthearted/funny post, but it's also a rant. Having 300W cards in the summer can be pretty brutal, and this is also for those who say power/ heat don't matter to them when buying a GPU (which can be true to some extent). Today, i'll be showing you how to cook with your computer. I have had a dual 290x setup since early 2016, and while they are great cards (especially considering the price i payed), they do produce quite a bit of heat . Luke made a video about warming pizza with a pc, but he set it up especially for that purpose and used cardboard extensively. Today you'll see that the dream of on-the-spot hot meals during gaming is attainable by all ! Never again will you have to put up with mtn dew and doritos ! The subjects today will be dual herta knacki (not sponsored) sausages that i found lying around in my freezer. I removed as much ice as i could from them to avoid producing much water from them. However, they were not heated. Step 1 : preparation I put both sausages in some foil to prevent water pouring out, as well to prevent dust getting on the food itself (yuck). Step 2 scientific method : Thermometer get ! We want to be able to measure the case temperature to ensure the food can be cooked properly. These are pre-cooked, and just need to be heated. I do NOT recommend cooking raw foods with your PC, as improperly cooked meats can make you extremely sick and can even be fatal in some conditions. Ambient temp was measured at 20C with a thermometer. Sausages were put under GPU .It is important that you GPU is still able to spin it's fans. With the case panel back on , i started my mining software as to produce a heavy GPU load, checking every 10min. After 10 min, thermometer temps went well past it's max 40C, making it useless. I discarded it . Sausages were still cold however. 10 minutes later however , they were well done ! And that, my friends, is how you cook with your PC. This is why I'll be buying a Vega GPU ! /jk Don't let anyone tell you mining is useless, the heat is just value added over the currency you get . I'll probably regret this post soon.

This post is in direct response to @LinusTech's & @Slick's last WAN show, in which Linus sited the long old rumor that GK110 was supposed to be used in what would have been the GTX 680. This rumor is completely false for several reasons. GK110 was never meant to be a consumer product, it was engineered to be a compute accelerator from the beginning, this is evidenced by numerous architectural differences between it & all the other consumer Kepler GPUs (GK104, GK106 & GK107). http://semiaccurate.com/2012/10/15/will-nvidia-make-a-consumer-gk110-card/ With GK110, the 48KB texture cache is unlocked for compute workloads. In compute the texture cache becomes a read-only cache, specializing in unaligned memory access workloads. Furthermore GK110 has error detection capabilities that would make it safer for workloads that rely on ECC. The register per thread is also doubled with 255 registers per thread. Another important point is that GK110 not only was never meant to compete with AMD's Radeon consumer product lineup in 2012 , but it actually couldn't... the yields were so low it was impossible. Josh Walrath from PCPer.com even calculated the yields for the GK110. Over 50% of GK110 chips on a 300mm wafer would come out fully defective & unsalvageable & of those 50% working units, only a few would come out fully working with all SMX units active, the rest would remain defective & a number of SMX units on those chips would have to be disabled for the chip to work. Not only were the yields on GK110 a nightmare, but every single working GK110 chip was reserved to be used in the Titan super-computer, this alone added months and months of delay for GK110 to be even considered commercially viable to produce & use in a consumer product. The first GK110 based consumer product launched was the GTX Titan, launched in Febuary of 2013, that's 13 months after AMD had released the 7970, so even IF Nvidia had intended to use GK110 for the GTX680 it would have come out more than a year late after the competition, which is commercial suicide.

Hello everyone I'd like you opinion on a tough decision I'm making. Weeks ago I've bought an ASUS 290x Matrix, I was quite happy, the card looked awesome, it did fit in my build quite nice, the lit ROG logo was awesome and I couldn't be happier since I've paid it 320€, brand new. Today I was forced to send it back to amazon 'cause it was a bit defective, temps were too high (92°c and above) and I've discovered it's a common occurrence with Asus direct cu 2 coolers, I'm quite sad about it, I really like it. So, as I'm packing it back I have to choose another gpu but it's a tough choice keeping in mind that: - I don't want to spend more that ~350€ and if I could stay around 320€ it would be even better. - Not interested in AMD 300 series - Both of the 2 options below look like shit in my build We have 2 options: - Sapphire R9 290x Tri-x for 353€ - Palit Jetstream gtx 970 for 335€ Msi and gigabyte cards are too expensive and the Asus strix has noticeable coil whine (plus I don't really want to try my luck again with asus). Both cards have similar temps in idle and full load (~77°c), the power consumption is not too important the difference is just a few bucks a month. What concerns me is: - Gtx 970: Ram, I know it's not a big deal but still it disturbs me and the fact that Nvidia could gimp performance once the new series is out (recent witcher 3 and assetto corsa games, and poor performance on kepler) - 290x: Quite hot and power hungry chip, afraid of shorter lifespan, maybe not worth the extra 20€ over the 970, slight lower performance? The 290x has improved a lot during this last year, improving performance through drivers and due to the 300 series being a rebrand it should offer it a longer lifespan. Mmm I can't decide, suggestions? Please avoid comments like: " hurr durr nvidia is better" "amd has just ovens" and shit like that, if you suggest a card tell me why and not just " gtx 970" or " amd 290x". Thank you and sorry for the wall of text.
