  3. haha I just built this rig its a dual xeon e5 so its 12 cores 24 threads. http://puu.sh/avr0N.JPG
  4. CPU is locked or I would have OCed it. Doesn't even run to the 2.6GHz Turbo its supposed to.
  5. http://puu.sh/aug8a.jpg http://puu.sh/aug9a.jpg It's working now after I set the slot to pcie gen2! :>
  6. Hey guys, I recently built my workstation, and one problem I ran into is the soundcard (Creative Titanium HD) is not detected in the PCIE x16 slot at very bottom of my motherboard. My motherboard is ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS, the top slots are covered by 3 HD7970 so the bottom slot is the only one I can plug this sound card into. The sound card works in my other PC and the slot works with my 4th 7970 as well. Is there a compatibility issue with X1 in a x16 slot? or is there some setting in the BIOS? PS, In the back of the sound card, I can see it's getting power because the SPDIF out has red light on inside. There's just nothing showing in my device manager.
  7. I did go through it a few times maybe I missed it, theres just tons of features in there for this board. Let me just take a look another time! Main Menu http://puu.sh/aowg0.jpg PCH Sata Config http://puu.sh/aowia.jpg PCH SCU Config http://puu.sh/aowjU.jpg Marvell SATA Config http://puu.sh/aowdQ.jpg rest does not seem relevant
  8. I bought this mobo Z9PE-D8 WS for my workstation, and one of the feature is the SSD caching with the Marvell controller. I know its the 4 white sata port on the board, so I connected one of my SSD and the HDD to those, now my system just reconize them as 2 seprate drives. I did a lot of searching online and inside the manual, not a single tutorial was avliable. I am now completely lost at what to do next to enable that feature, so somebody please help me? Thanks in advance!
  9. yea seems like SR-X is gone for good I'm just wondering whats the difference between the C606 chipset and C602 chipset which the asus one have?
  10. I've been looking into getting a dual Xeon E5 machine going, and I liked the EVGA SR-X's looks, however it's pretty much went extinct in everysingle shop I could find. Is there a place where I can still get my hand on it? or am I left with some other dual LGA2011 socket boards like the ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS? Is there any very nice supermicro ones that I'm missing out on? thanks for in advance
  11. love 1440p screen, thats just insane. how many years has laptop been stuck with 1366x768 tn panels?
  12. if you are gettings the D14 leave the same orientation as u just said, aim the exhaust side of the cooler to the back
  13. i leave my pc on 24/7 for some VM hosting, during the day i'd say i'm at 5 or 6, but when I sleep I'd like it to be atmost 3 I do have a Noctua NH-L12 in my ITX build but unfortuntly I cant squeeze the 120mm fan in it the 92mm fan gets a bit loud during 100% cpu load in my VM,
