  1. Hi everyone!I'm beginning to travel in Europe for work and I need a good mobile device to bring with me (so far, I've always worked and played on my desktop). I've already browsed many websites, HP, Dell, Lenovo, but they usually don't show some devices that are still available in the market but not through their website. That is why I'm here to ask for your advices, to find some neat models that could be good for me.These are my requirements: I know that many of these are in trade-off with each other, I'm trying to find the best compromise. Budget: up to 2000€, lower is better, but if I find my dream device I could go up to 2500€. Keep in mind, euros, since I'm shopping in Europe (Italy). Use: Office, Visual Studio often with Wifi connection, and some electronic design software not very graphic intensive (Altium or Cadence Allegro). Movies/Netflix and some light games (see below). Long lasting battery: I'll be using it while travelling, so it should last for a standard work day with meetings. I'd like to reach the end of the day without worrying too much. Display: at least 14'' (to be comfortable and have a reasonable sized keyboard for my big hands), 15.6'' is ok. 17'' is too big, unless it is very lightweight and perfect in every other aspect. Weight: the lighter the better, without having something that breaks just by looking at it. I'd prefer to stay below 2kg (4.4 pounds), but I know that this is in competition with the battery life. Storage: I'd prefer SSD, at least 250gb. Resolution: at least 1080p. With these display size I don't need more, but it is not a constraint. I prefer a longer battery life than a higher resolution. Let's discuss gaming: I have already a good gaming desktop, so I'd consider gaming a minor requirement, just to kill some time in the evening. Not heavy games, League of Legends at most and some indie games like Mark of the Ninja and Darkest Dungeon to give you an idea.On the other hand, I really like the idea of a convertible notebook, with touchscreen and a good (active) pen to take notes, but I know that 2 in 1 with dedicated graphics do not exist. So for now I'd go for a 2 in 1 with good pen support, maybe included in the device and live with an integrated graphic card (I've read that the HD 520 decently handles LoL and light games). The alternative is a classic notebook with dedicated graphics, no touchscreen (I wouldn't know what to do with it) but top-notch in all the other requirements. The Thinkpad X1 Yoga for the 2 in 1 seems pretty good but it's really expensive in Europe, while for the laptop a good candidate could be the XPS 15, but many complain about the battery not lasting as expected.Do you know some other models that would fit my needs? Thanks to everybody!

  3. Wow, "possibilities, possibilities everywhere" with a NUC in my house!
  4. Hi guys, if you are reading this that's because I've been extracted, I love your videos and keep up the good work! My favourite item here is the Kuhler 1250 because I've just bought an Enthoo Pro and I'd love to complement it with some nice liquid cooling I'm working on a home server though so the other items in the bundle will not be wasted!
  5. I'm going to use them with the fan hub that comes with the Enthoo Pro, so 3-pin fans voltage controlled by a signal coming from the PWM 4-pin connector of the cpu. With this in mind, what would you suggest? Noiseblocker BlackSilentPro PK2 140mm or Aerocool DS White or Black 140mm or Enermax T.B. SILENCE Manual Fan 140mm
  6. Thanks for the first answers, is there anyone else patient enough to read through the whole post? Thanks again
  7. Hi guys, I've just ordered an Enthoo Pro, it's coming in 10 days and since it's my birthday I was looking into some premium fans to add or replace the ones the case have. I don't care much about the price since these are "presents" but I'm more interested in Quietness and Performance. You could see it as: Quiet >= Performance > Price I have some questions to ask you, I've tried to look into previous threads but now I'm more confused than before, so here I am! 1) The case comes with a 140mm back exhaust fan and a 200mm front intake fan. Are these fans any good? 2) I know that not may manifacturers that make good 200mm fans, and 2x140mm == 1x200mm as far as the overall area is concerned. But what about noise and performance? 3) The case comes with a fan hub. I have seen confusing instructions about this, will I be able to control all these fans in PWM mode with my motherboard? (see details below) 4) Noctua has presented their new series of Industrial fans, how quiet are these fans compared to the standard series? The name suggests they are not aimed at silent configurations, but the standard series is really ugly! 5) If i want to keep both drive cages should I prefer Static Pressure fans? 6) Keeping in mind what I've said (Quiet >= Performance > Price) what brand and model do you suggest me for each type? I've seen Noctua and Noiseblocker fans often recommended. Here's my setup: Intel Core i5-2500K Asus P8P67 PRO Rev3.1 Corsair XMS3 DDR3 3x2Gb Ati Sapphire HD 5770 Samsung PRO 128Gb (OS) Samsung EVO 120GB (Games) WesternDigital HD 300Gb (Media and other games) XFX 850W Bronze 80+ LG Flatron W2253V 23'' 1920x1080 Thanks in advance!
  8. Hi everybody, my father's birthday is approaching and I'd like to give him an SSD for his super slow booting pc. It's a 4 years old computer and was anyway a budget build, because he just uses it for browsing and some office work, no gaming no rendering. So here's the question: will it support a Samsung 120GB EVO SSD without huge bottlenecks? The motherboard is this one: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A87TDUSB3/specificat... SB850 is kinda unknown to me as a storage controller. I've never updated a bios so I would happily avoid to do that, will it limit the performance? Some other details on the build: AMD Phenom II X4 955 LC-Power LC6550GP2 DDR3 Kingstone HyperX 2x2GB Western Digital Caviar Green 500GB Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB Asus HD 4350 Fanless Thanks in advance!
  9. I first discovered Linus Tech Tips more than a year ago, while I was looking for my next gaming mouse. I was really impressed by the quality of your videos, even the older ones, and I got hooked by your personality. Since then I've never missed a video, nor a WAN show, and one of the first things I do now when I wake up is checking for new videos! (I'm from Italy so I watch your evening videos in the morning! ) Greetings from Italy! You have fans even here! Keep up the good work!
  10. Aside from the owesome skin of this particular Z2, I really like the improvement in the screen. After watching your videos it's difficult to go to shopping a phone in a store without noticing all these problems and the one about the screen was I hated the most. About dbrand i really like their site and their tool to choose the skin I want to buy
  11. I fell in love with the design! The red style, line and logo are amazing! I'd love to show this off in front of those apple user with just a bright apple on the back Greetings from Italy, keep up the good work!
  12. Hi guys, I continuously hear that you are an awesome community, so I decided to join you and give it a try I'm planning to buy a new graphic card and I was evaluating an Asus GTX 780 but I need a new case to fit it in. Anyway, whatever graphic card I end up buying, I feel that upgrading my case would be a nice thing to improve air flow and to improve cable management. I'm looking for a case that would fit: - a new long graphic card - an optical 5.25'' drive - 2 SSD - 1 HDD - possibly with the buttons and ports at the top of the case - possibly with side mounting drives (so better cable management - supports a future SLI/Crossfire - supports a future (maybe small) liquid cooling What case would you suggest? Here's the details of my computer: Intel Core i5-2500K Asus P8P67 PRO Rev3.1 Corsair XMS3 DDR3 3x2Gb Ati Sapphire HD 5770 Kingston SSD 64Gb (OS) Samsung EVO 120GB (Games) WesternDigital HD 300Gb (Media and other games) XFX 850W Bronze 80+ LG Flatron W2253V 23'' 1920x1080 Thanks in advance!
