  1. After some further digging, I have found it's quite a common problem with the Corsair K70 RGB and Asus motherboards. Seems here are a few others with the same issue from years ago: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=133976 Yet the issue was not resolved. It appears it's the keyboard itself. Tried it in a different PC, and the problem happened on the other PC. When tried another keyboard in the first PC, it booted fine.
  2. Yes, everything is secure and correct. Checked it multiple times.
  3. It's on a fresh install of W10 now with a new SSD, all drivers have been installed fresh to the latest available. I have updated BIOS to the latest version for the Maximus VI Hero.
  4. Ignore my idiocy, I forgot how to go back from that tab for a while. However, we have an odd problem here. Whenever I unplug a specific 1 of 2 keyboard USB's from the computer, it boots fine, and bios doesn't lag. However, when I plug it back in, boot up takes 2-3 minutes, and bios lags like crazy. Any ideas?
  5. Yeah don't worry, I plan on sitting down with him as I build it showing him how to build it, maybe let him do it himself, then give him the full birds and the bees talk about building/interacting on computers. EDIT: Oh and it wont be anything fancy with lights and a window for his first build, maybe he'll upgrade it over christmas' and birthdays to add them stuff later.
  6. He has literally no income, as he's under 16, so even though he does want to play the occasional game on PC, he can't do it himself.
  7. Well he needs a PC for his school work also, that's why I'm just getting him one that works for now, but even he could tell the difference with GTA V on PS4 and on PC, even though I only had a 660 in my PC at the time, he said it felt much smoother, which is a good one to notice.
  8. I never said he was against it, I bought him about 3 games over christmas which he is loving, but he hasn't got a PC of his own, he really enjoys his PS4, but I think he will also enjoy PC, seeing how he wants to be on my other brothers PC as much as possible proves that he's not against it at all, and it's taking me next to no effort.
  9. Hello everyone, I am in need of some help. I'm slowly trying to convert my brother from console gaming to PC, by helping him get his first PC. I've got some old components laying around at the moment, but the motherboard and CPU are lacking. I plan on helping him get a new motherboard and CPU sometime this year as an upgrade, I don't particularly fancy going all out on Skylake etc, looking more around the £200 mark for both, any suggestions? I've got my old Asus DirectCUII GTX 660 OC edition sitting here which I'll be putting in with it as well. Thanks in advance!
  10. This one has been answered before: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/446914-msi-z170a-gaming-m7-vs-asus-rog-maximus-viii-hero/
  11. I just don't buy anything nintendo, then again I've never liked any Nintendo game ever.
  12. Thank you very much kind sir! I think I'd be looking more at the Asus then due to the more features since a few extra ports really doesn't matter.
  13. My theme is red and black with small specs of silver, so it's not like the Hero would be totally out of place but it will look rather strange, I have an NZXT h440 red/black with NZXT red LED cable in there but my GTX 660 which I have currently has silver heatpipes, and I have an Intel SSD in the SSD bay which is also silver. I would preferably like to keep it between Asus and MSI don't really want to be more confused on what to choose.
  14. I'll mainly be gaming, browsing, watching movies, listening to music, the regular stuff.. I don't really do any rendering or editing or anything like that, although I am a bit like Linus and like to have THOUSANDS of tabs open in my browser, I am looking at the i7 6700k but I'm not sure which Z170 motherboard to choose out of those 2, as said above the MSI matches my theme better with colours because it's black/red instead of the more silver/red/black the hero has, but I'm also looking for the best option of the two to choose for overclocking, and for temporary onboard sound until I get a sound card.
  15. Is there someone that can give a list of pros and cons of each motherboard that can make the decision slightly easier, and compare the product information for what is better, I would do it myself but I have no clue about either technologies since I myself will be upgrading from an FX4100 to one of these in a week or so.
  16. I am also stuck with the choice of an MSI Z170 Gaming 7 and Hero VIII... The colour scheme of the MSI one would go better with my build, but I question what is the better motherboard, since on Overclockers UK the MSI is £5 more expensive than the Hero VIII. I want to choose the best of the 2, I've always been an ASUS fan so usually I would just jump at the Hero without stepping back and thinking, but I guess I should be thankful they put a silver body on it to make me think twice... Obviously my build is the overseen black/red theme.
  17. This is the first time it has happened, but it hasn't fixed itself yet. EDIT: It isn't connecting to anything it seems, no links work either.

  19. Hello guys, I have been trying to visit Vessel, but every time I load the website my screen starts flickering on and off, only on vessel, not on any games or any other application or webpage, just that one. Tried it on my fiancée's PC and had no issues whatsoever. Does anyone know why this may be happening, and maybe a way to fix it?
  20. XE says it too. EDIT: and OANDA Yahoo also X-rates too and Bloomberg.

    Halppp!

    Case: Clearance CPU Heatsink Support 170mm Hyper 212 Evo Dimension 120 x 80 x 159 mm (4.7 x 3.1 x 6.3 in) Heat Sink Dimensions 116 x 51 x 159 mm (4.6 x 2.0 x 6.3 in) Seems like it will fit.
  22. Erm, 540USD converts to 360 GBP, so you'd be spending more.
