  3. Samsung Galaxy S8 Review So here are the main points that we will be talking about in this review. We are going to cover everything about the infinity display, Samsung's latest design language, the battery life of the phone, pricing and availability, the highly controversial fingerprint scanner, the iris scanner, the camera that hasn't changed much. The ∞ Display So, you're asking: "Why is it called the infinity display?". The answer to that is it has no boundaries and thus making it infinite. OK, all jokes aside this is the best display on the market, period. On the curved edges of the phone, it truly seems like there is absolutely no bezel there. This helps you get immersed in the content that you are watching. But then there is the top and bottom bezel which are also slim but nowhere near the slimness of the side bezel, but still, they are a big improvement over the Galaxy S7 bezels. But the sAMOLED panel is what truly helps you get immersed in the content! The colors pop and the blacks are just as black as ink. Also, the resolution is very high coming in at 2960 x 1440, although by default it comes in 1920 x 1080. I cannot see why Samsung did this as far as I tested it didn't help the battery life a lot. The home button uses force touch technology. It sometimes can help when you are in a full-screen app that you can just hard press the bottom centre of the phone and it will bring you out of the app, but still I mainly didn't use the force touch technology because I don't play a lot of games on my phone, the only thing I did use it for was YouTube. I kept my home button on medium force because the high option made me feel like I am bending the screen with the force of my finger. Industrial Design The Galaxy S8 is very similar to the Galaxy S7 in design with a few key differences. The biggest one we already talk about - the screen with minimal bezel, curved glass on the sides and very vibrant colors with deep blacks. And also let's not forget the nonexistent home button. The biggest differences you can find on the back mainly that where the heart rate sensor use to sit there now is a fingerprint sensor and the heart rate sensor has been moved to the other side. Also, now the back glass covers the heart rate sensor and not plastic so finally it won't get scratched up. The camera bump is finally gone, but still, it does have a metal ring around it. Samsung also has kept the curved edges on the back glass as well, this helps make the phone more comfortable to hold in the hand. Now instead of brushed aluminum Samsung is using the polished variant on the sides of the phone. Also, the speaker of the phone is no longer using the rounded holes but oval ones. On the bottom of the phone, you have a USB Type-C port for charging, a 3,5-mm jack, a microphone, the speaker of course and the antenna bands. The Battery & Charging Battery life was average with the Galaxy S8. I barely got 3 hours of screen on time. Although I was using the device fully, what I mean by this is that the device was at 100% screen brightness and I was watching video all the time or doing work. If you do not use your phone like this you will probably get around 5 hours of screen on time. However, if you are a power user I suggest getting the S8+ which has 500 more mAh. It's a shame that Samsung had compromise on the battery just because of the Note 7 incident. I personally think they would have made a larger battery for the S8 if the Note 7 thing didn't happen. So, you can charge the Galaxy S8 two ways - wired charging and wireless charging. It has fast charge - with this feature you can charge your phone from 0% to 100% in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. This really helps if you have forgotten to charge your phone overnight. And also, there is fast wireless charging I really didn't use this feature because I think it is kind of worthless on a day to day scenario. Sure if you have a car mount which charges you phone wirelessly when you put it in, then it is a great idea, but other than that I see no use for this feature. Availability, Cost and Your Options of Color You have five color options, from left to right Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver and Maple Gold. I personally like the Coral Blue and Orchid Gray ones, they really seem to stand out. Other than that the black one is OK, but it is a huge fingerprint magnet and I mean it once you touch it there's a fingerprint on there. The best color option to eliminate fingerprints is the Arctic Silver one since you can't really see white on white. Sadly, you may not have all of these options available, especially the Coral Blue and Maple Gold ones. The rest are available in both the US and Europe. The S8 and S8+ will only come in 64 GB editions with the 128 GB version only available in China, this version also has 6 GB of RAM instead of the usual 4 GB. The Galaxy S8 will cost $720 and the S8+ will cost $840. The phones launched on April 29th and were announced on March 29th. My thoughts on the fingerprint and iris scanners When I first received my S8, I always confused the camera with the fingerprint scanner, but after a day of using it, I got used to it. Although usually, I did not even need to use it because of the iris scanner. Also, I didn't smudge the camera. Other reviewers are not mentioning that it is as fast as Touch ID, meaning that it is always on and you don't need to power the device on at all. A couple of times when I was pulling my phone out of my pocket it already had been unlocked thanks to this feature. Then the fingerprint scanner can also be used as a shortcut to open the notification tray. Although this feature is not enabled by default and it is buried in the settings menu. This makes it easier to use the phone since you don't have to reach the top of the device to see your notifications. So now let's talk about the iris scanner. Let me tell you it works like a charm. Once you swipe to unlock you are already in your phone. The setup is also easy all you have to do is pull your phone out in front of your face and let it do its magic. I also tested it with other people and it doesn't get tricked. This truly is the future of security - extremely easy to use, but hard to crack or fool. People that bash the fingerprint scanner are just not using the phone as they should. But let's remember that the fingerprint scanner will be fixed with the Galaxy Note 8. The Camera Samsung themselves said that the back camera has not changed a lot since last year's Galaxy S7, however, I find that there is some difference mainly because of the improved software. So, the back camera has these features: Optical Image Stabilization. 4K Video Capture and 1080p 60 FPS. Simultaneous 4K video recording and 9 MP Image shooting. 12 MP Sensor. Dual Pixel Autofocus 1.7 F Aperture. And here are the features of the front camera 1440p Video Capture 8 MP Sensor 1.7 F Aperture So these cameras are pretty good, but words can't really describe how they look so here are some images. OK so here are some comparison shots low light vs good lighting: In these two images, you can see just how good the Galaxy S8 camera is in low light. Almost no detail is lost due to low light. Here are some more photos. Hopefully, you can see the difference! Now it is time for some casual day to day shots. So, to sum it up the camera of the Galaxy S8 is very good both in darkness and bright sunlight. Conclusion So, the Galaxy S8 is a great device, do I recommend it? Yes of course. It's near perfect except for the battery. This phone is near perfection. Also, let me know what you think about this post in the comment section!
  4. So I am trying to use a google script https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Bn4m6iA_Xch1zzhNvo_6CoQWqOAgwwkOWJKC-phHx2Q/edit#gid=0 to send an email from an HTML form. It works ok , but when it is finished I get a JSON response I was wondering how can i make it redirect back to the original site not the JSON response Edit: to see the script click file make a copy and then go to tools and script editor!
