  1. ya, echos are relatively new, i think, one of them is new, 2 of them are just a year older. router is old, but its the current one rogers still gives out even for new customers, so, can't be helped. but ya, i miss my old old wired ones, and my old 2.4ghz wireless. Feel like i should just route some cables again and get wired speakers. worked good for many years until we decided to remodel the office and went with 2.4ghz. good upgrade at the time though. just limited speaker amounts to connect, and in the end, reception antenna started to wear out i guess? duno. Old tech lasts 10 year plus. new stuff lasts like 2 years, lol
  2. the wireless router provided by Rogers would suffice. We actually have great signal in our use case. So signal doesn't seem to be the issue. We do have neighbors, but not enough to kill signal. The Echo devices are in the same areas as always. Reception Area, employee workstation area, and one in the back for administration. Often times, it'll work fine. But these days, just more and more issues everytime. When I say it worked fine for a long time, i mean specificaly for about 1-2 years straight. I had a routine setup to play and stop music. In most cases it worked. It was times when i had spotify open on my phone, and it would auto go to phone sometimes, but that seems to have fixed. But now, routines never work. Group is never awake, playing on 1 echo almost ALWAYS works, and sometimes it will work by issuing voice commands a few times straight and it'll suddenly work too. Just odd and annoying considering this is not new, and with tech, you'd think it get better... but nope...
  3. So, pretty much as a daily occurrence, my echos will have difficulties in playing music together. They will eventually, but usually requires to power cycle them all including the wifi. I use to have 2.4Ghz wireless speakers but they broke, and decided to go with a group of echos on sale. They worked good for a while once all setup. With a routine to start a playlist in the morning, end at night. This is for work. After a few weeks, they stopped working well. Power cycle, worked. Then now, its like, even with power cycle, it doesn't work. Wifi router is the same for years. Its just the generic one you get from rogers. All of them can play music individually and is listed as online. But they refuse to pretty much play at together now as a group. Any reason why? Did Amazon block this feature now?
  4. so, for both work and home, when i sort files, or need access to files, i need like 6-9 folders open. I use Divvy to do the window management which i love, which organizes the position, but i still have to manually open and locate all the folders. I could use shortcuts which i do, but its a pain. Since i do it multiple times a day. Is there an app or way to open say, one shortcut, and it would automatically open the folders i want, in the specific position i prefer? thanks in advance!
  5. it seems to be very selective after factory reseting, still getting the problem without ANY settings changes, then managed to get something to work when changing from brief notifications to detailed notifications, back to brief. Telegram seems to work, but emails just pop up an icon, or whatsapp too, just icon. not even sound notifications. Man, this is driving me insane. I keep missing work emails and messages because my phone is selective in what to show brief details of, and not, as well as what notification will have sound, and not.
  6. i have always show on, and my brother who had the Fold 4, has same options. Works for him, but for me, my notifications are still not popping up sadly...
  7. that part i understand, theres a function that can be enabled to show notifications on unlock only, but, it be nice to at least turn on the device to show, you got a message, or email. I personally enjoy keeping my phone on silent and vibrate only, but i want it show actually show i got email, and only after my finger print, i can see the context of the email.
  8. ohh, that is pretty neat, but nah, not what i'm looking for. As i do want a better looking watch. Gadgetbridge is interesting. I'll check that out. Might be a decent way to give some life to my pebble, though i'm still hoping for some sort of work around for pebble rebble on android 14.
  9. so, my question is, how do i set it so my S23 can show notifications, even when screen is locked. What i mean, while my phone is locked, and in Always On Display mode, and i get a notification, all i hear is the sound, and then the tiny icon pops up on the display, under the time and date of the always on display, which then i need to tap on display or unlock, w/e, just so i can see what it is. Is there no way for the screen to briefly turn on, show the notification, and go back to the always on display after a few seconds?
  10. TLDR: I NEED A NEW PEBBLE MADE FOR ANDROID 14 and above. in this case, a new watch. I have a pebble. But it doesn't work with android 14 to well, as i have an updated S23. I do need a smart watch though, as that is what i need, but i dont need all the fitness crap. Fit bits are nice, but, its more fitness tracker than watch. Ideally, i need a pebble that works. Fancier in general. Fossil & Garmin puts out some nice stuff in general, but Fossil just announced recently they will end their smart watch line, so... worried what will happen with the Fossil Hybrids, as that is something i like. As well as, Garmin Instinct is something i like, but its also way to bulky, but fitness and sport built. I just want a watch, with vibration motors, that can set alarms, timers, calendar, and receive notifications. Apple watches are surprisingly robust in these areas, but obviously Pebble takes the cake. Any ideas? I've seen cheap amazon ones, but i really dont want to bother even if they work well enough. Compared to the Pebble, and Apple watch, just due to price and stuff, the vibration motor on pebble is kinda... a joke, pretty violent, and even those around you can hear the vibration, where the apple watch is much more direct, and no one near you could feel it. Its nice to have. So ya, am i the only one that wants this? No idea why smart watches are quite vast in pickings now, but.. overall, more or less the same thing. MORE FITNESS, MORE SPORTS, MORE SIZE, mediocore battery life. Garmin Instinct is nice, but... its bulky as well.
  11. So i picked up an s23, love it, but im also an iphone user, that had magsafe accessories. SO, would love to use em. I got a magsafe case for s23 , dont know if links work here but, its the TOCOL 3 in 1 case for s23. I also got the dbrand xray skin for my s23, so it actually looks SOO cool together. with the greyed out sort of transparent case, with the xray behind it. BUT, i noticed, the magsafe ring on case, and the wireless charging array on dbrand skin, is. in differenent locations. Can anyone confirm if this is a bad thing? Attached is the picture of case and skin together. PS, i have the pink s23 because it was all they had left in stock, and my dbranding sknning wasn't very well done unfortunately. but, still looks sick if you only glance at it. But worried about how the charging array could be affected by magsafe, like.... heating issues potentially. Also, there are some charging stands like INIU that state magnet cases are NOT compatible. so leaves me to wonder why magsafe chargers would be safe, but not normal wireless charging stands.
  12. no, i decided to stick with what i got because it got troublesome to fix it up any more. i also spent a lot of my money on One Piece decorations to create a theme. =). My fractal design north just felt wayy to lonely, being the only decent looking thing on my workstation, haha. Thanks for the info though. going to stay clear from it. my pc despite mid tier, i do have a 1000w PSU, so, if by chance the 3060ti decides to use more power, or my ryzen 5, then i might get screwed. anything to do with power, i get pretty scared. Also, i've burnt a few PC's due to bad and cheap PSU's, and some defective ones. sadly... so............................. ya, worried. haha
  13. gpu, windows, drivers are all up to date, and with my rtx 3060 ti, it sohuld still be receiving actual updates too. I have a lot of light. My previous home had WAY less lighting. But the new spot lights may be actually very close to the camera, and may be blinding it. I should try using just floor lamps next time. I did to the oculus thing, but, setting it up on a new user, which was what i was trying to do, made it impossible to re-log in. This is already a fresh re-install on my account, so, shouldn't be issue. I'll wait for the new Valve VR. the RIFT S is seeing its limitations anyways. My controllers are pretty smashed up, and only being held together with some tape and epoxy stuff. Beat Saber and non-replaceable controllers sucks. contacted support and gave me no options to buy replacements... =_= Thanks for the info though!
  14. i've had the RIftS for quite a while, and its been acting up recently. I moved to my GF's place and has been acting up since. Took great care of it, even during the move, so shouldn't be issue there. The main thing is, i did get a new PC. But before that, it was running of a gtx 960, which wasn't great, and an old 3570k i5, and before that, a gtx 780, but it broke somehow during a dota run, but w/e. Anyways, now i'm not a new mother board, amd ryzen 5 5600x, 3060ti, and overall, performance is great. BUT, it would jitter left and right at random. Weirdly enough, i'm in a basement with walls and other mostly non-reflective crap or windows, whereas before in my condo, i had large panel windows, mirrors, and TV's. So why would the Rift S be working worst now? I even checked the USB port it is connected to, which is directly to a 3.0 port on the motherboard, and all other USB ports are connected to a USB Hub, that has its own power source. no other adapters, its a Display port straight to GPU. It would just jitter randomly looking left and right, and right around the center point, it would jitter, almost like, changing perspective from left and right eye. Playing beat saber with this is a HUGE pain. Also, is there any other good VR headset that isn't reliant on Occulus software? Because that thing is CRAP. I can't even log in into it anymore, because who knows why. My current gaming PC is auto loged in for now, but couldn't set it up on my gf's user account on the PC so she could just load it up on her own, =_=... Thanks in advance.
  15. he had the switch. its good, but we blocked store access due to promoted hentai games. Steam has family view, which works great. But EA blocks games that basically has family view. Its a pain. He can play games like forza just fine thankfully, but i would like him to explore more games on his own. Just you know, without 18+ sex and violence.
