  1. I know they're attempting to curb casual piracy, but they must realise this is going to have the opposite effect, right? Anyone know of any HDMI2.0 hdcp 2.2 to display port? I've seen hdmi 1.4 to display port which i could use after a splitter or converter but I'll be limited to 30fps, which i assmue isnt too bad as most of not all content will be at 24fps. Has anyone used any splitters or converters for a similar issue and can report on wether they actually work? May as well just torrent...
  2. Hey, hopefully someone can help! I'd like to watch 4k netflix on my PC, however, my main details are as follows; I7 6700k (not compliant) Gtx 1080 (is technically compliant) And an acer xb280hk 4k gsync monitor (hdcp 1.4 not 2.2... so not compliant even though its <insert swear word here> 4k) I've seen people solve similar issues using splitters or converters, however the monitor i use is displayport only and everything i've seen is HDMI 2.0, any suggestions? (Seen active splitters but apparently only been able to find the ones that work the opposite way...) Any and all help appreciated! (Im sure im missing something super obvious lol)
  3. There is nothing wrong with the 8350. I doubt you'll lose much performance v Intel (same price point at least). If you already have it then great, if you're planning on returning it, then whatever. It's not a BAD CPU. It's not the best, but it is cheaper. If you've already a 6100 then use that and see how it performs, remember an Intel CPU of better performance costs more. I've used friends Pc's that use AMD and they're fine. Don't turn into a fanboy, use what you think is best. If it turns out in your opinion to be shite, then swap. I went with the i5 3570k with no info, and it's turned out well, and I have no regrets but people will always say I should've gone with an i7. Save your cash mate, then buy a better CPU or GPU later.
  4. Live streaming to twitch via shadow play has very little impact on gaming and is pretty decent. It's almost impossible to say how that PC will perform in 5 years. it won't be playing ultra though... unless dx12 is amazing... I've an i5 3570k and streaming is fine. You'll be happy with both but i7 will last longer.
  5. First started by playing day of defeat, battlefield 2142 and mount&ablade. Didn't take it seriously until dayz mod where I went and bought the computer I have now. Used to struggle along and play battlefield bad company on my old Sony vaio at around 5-10 fps haha Although first PC in 95/6 with command and conquer and Fifa that stuck whenever I scored for an unknown reason lol
  6. Just give me World At War 2 FFS!!
  7. I don't think rank has all that much to do with skill (for the most part anyway) It's just who you play with and what rank they tend to be. there have been multiple times I see a player of a much higher rank than myself and is completely useless. Those of you who smurf ONLY to have an easier game or to just mess around should really play casual instead of competitive. Just my opinion. you shouldn't ALWAYS assume it's a smurf as sometimes it isn't. Shadow captain makes a good point.
  8. Me a couple years ago. man i remember the tan lines...
  9. Nah never knew lol, I've been trying to get some of my friends who never played it to buy it but they wouldn't, they said "why, we already have bf4?" Well looks like I missed that one then. have they released BF:BC2 on it yet?
  10. WTF? When? What? Why? Why did I even buy it??!!??? I have no hope for EA anymore. So their business model is to just wait long enough and you get a free game? Lol. Good for people who don't have it, but not so good for the people who paid full price for the game lol.
  11. Not for a long time I think mate. Bf3 nor bad company 2 haven't been on there... At least to the best of my knowledge. The newest game I think I saw was dead space.
  12. Don't you have a debit card?
  13. I mean what is your broadband "speed" in Mbps.If you've tried all else just download it again and see if that helps somehow.
  14. Before I played PC I never noticed, but now I can and I'd rather not go back to 30fps if my PC can help it. I notice in certain films that you can notice it severely (I know the whole 24 fps due to natural light and blur etc) where I notice it most is in certain animations for example LOTR or any film in which it has some form of animated cutscene, or when the camera pans out onto a large area. I doubt lots of people notice or care but I can see it and I wish I couldn't. The whole 30 fps v 60fps argument to me is kind of like when I'm trying to explain and show to an older person the difference between standard def and HD and they still claim not to notice somehow even though HD is clearly better.
  15. What router do you have and how far away from you is it? What bandwidth? If you have a low speed adsl network then Ethernet cable will help, if that's not practical then a powerline adapter would be preferable over wireless. Your wireless adapter supports dual band but if you've an old router it won't be doing much good. And have you tried re downloading?
