Recently my system hang up all the time, and I found the +12V voltage dropped to around 10v as shown in hwinfo64 and hwmonitor (didn't check in BIOS) After changing a new power supply the system stable again, but hwinfo64 and hwmonitor still shows 10v, while BIOS shows 12v. Is it just the software data not being updated correctly? Or the instability is nothing to do with the power supply? Windows failed to recognize keyboard but works in BIOS
boveywong replied to boveywong's topic in Troubleshooting
I've installed all the available drivers from MSI site, it happens regardless on Windows with drivers or fresh installed Windows without driver. I just couldn't understand how is it possible for one specific keyboard works in BIOS but not in Windows, while all other USB devices work flawlessly in both bios and Windows -
Windows failed to recognize keyboard but works in BIOS
boveywong replied to boveywong's topic in Troubleshooting
Yes everything is the latest, from the MSI z690-a support website. The weird thing is that I have been using the system for 2 weeks without issue, and this problem suddenly happens a few days ago and I did not install any new software/update. -
This newly built Windows 11 PC has been used for 2 weeks without any problem. But out of nowhere today 4 USB ports on the motherboard doesn't recognize my topre keyboard, while all other USB peripherals including my old keyboard works fine. By reinstalling the problematic driver the topre keyboard works again, but upon reconnecting it doesn't work again. Same on freshly installed Windows, as the video shown. The keyboard has no problem navigating BIOS, so it seems like the problem of Windows 11? TLDR: The system randomly hangs, then BSOD, then reboot into BIOS and found the SSD drive disappeared. It doesn't matter if I'm gaming, browsing the internet, or just leaving it on the desktop doing nothing, the system may randomly hang for 10 seconds, then BSOD (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION). Then it reboots itself, but failed to find the boot drive. So I found the NVME SSD disappeared. After shutting down and reboot, the SSD went back. This is already the second SSD for this motherboard, I've tried to reinstall the SSD physically and made sure the SSD sits securely in the M.2 slot. The SSD seems fine, and the motherboard is on latest UEFI ver. No CPU or RAM or GPU overclocking applied, everything has been default. This problem has been around for quite sometimes, happens once every 1-2 months very randomly. I may try to reinstall the system when I have imte. But if there's no fix for the issue, I may just give up and upgrade to an AMD system. What's wrong with my HGST NAS HDD? (EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED)
boveywong replied to boveywong's topic in Troubleshooting
Of course I didn't  , and I did checked about that as well. Yup I knew that's why I went for HGST and even a NAS one for normal desktop usage. That's why I was so frustrated about what happened that it recently -
I have been using my HGST NAS 4TB HDD and an Orico dock for around 4 months my notebook at home (http://www.amazon.com/ORICO-External-Docking-Duplicator-Function/dp/B00JJEUL5W) Everything was fine until recently the HDD keeps hanging while copying/writing data on it. It has 100% activity but absolutely no I/O happening. It hangs around a minute and it came back normal, after 10s, it hanged again, and this process keeps repeated and repeated again. It was so frustrating that I can't recognize what's wrong even when looking at S.M.A.R.T. So I wiped everything, recreated a volume and ran surface test using HDDScan, the HDD still keeps hanging, so I gave up and go sleep. The next day I ran the test again, strangely this time the HDD didn't hang, but I got even more frustrated...... HOW CAN A HDD SUDDENLY REACH 300MB/s!? WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE HDD!? No bad sector was found BTW, so what's wrong?

I want the KIRO mouse since I'm more of a productivity person rather than gaming, I would use it to work all day long.

The most awesome part of Z2 is the waterproof, I can take pictures and videos with that awesome 20.7MP camera when I swim with my friends. I like dbrand skins since their skins do look awesome and SWAGGG! It makes my phone looks unique when comparing with others, and the skins are really easy to apply. Thumbs up!!!
