Can a tech company count? And no its not Apple. Comcast. I hate Comcast with undying passion. They treat there customers poorly. They've tried so many times to not get net neturality past. Tech support for them is a game of how long before you wanna punch the nearest living thing to you.

People using zip ties as cable management. I hate them cause they aren't reusable and I've people seen torque them and pinch wires. I also before I switched to twist ties cut a wire accidentally that way removing a zip tie.
 
Building in piano black gloss PC cases. I dunno why they love attracting fingerprints from across the known universe and prolly a few multiverses as well. 

there can be a marginal speed benefit depending on how hampered the router was when it left the factory. However the use for things like DD-WRT and Tomato is in more security features and stuff that is in routers can easily cost 1000's of dollars.
