Great so my CS program at my school is collapsing as there aren't enough teachers so you might have to wait 2 years to get into a class to graduate. So I think I'm going to bite the bullet and transfer somewhere. I pay basically nothing, $1,100 a semester, but my EFC is rising exponentially as my siblings are all finishing college and I have a job. So I'd rather transfer and pay $35K for out of state but go to a great school. The biggest risk is classes not transferring so I wouldn't be able to graduate early. I'd then graduate with $80,000 in loans. Opposed to now with $16,000. Which I could technically pay off instantly. HMMMMM life decision times

  1. Evolution.

    Evolution.

80k in loans hell na. just remember a lot of times life doesn't go how you think it will in your head even if it makes perfect sense.

Oh yeah last year taught me that well. I just don't like the school I am going to at all. It's cheap and that's it's only selling point

Not that I'm biased or anything, but ASU has a fairly strong CS program, especially in data science. Our tuition is very affordable, even for out of state students and they are fairly generous with scholarships and grants. On top of that, our admissions are so easy it's kind of a meme. I can't speak to the out of state transfer process, but I know people that have done it and I can't imagine it's that difficult. I believe our out of state tuition is under $30k, which makes it one of the cheapest options in the nation especially with a half decent engineering school.

@Hackentosher Funny you say that as I was actually looking at ASU as an option. I'll look into it more and make some calls to admissions. Do you have a class break down of what's needed for a CS BS major?

I'll see if I can find you a Cs major map
