  1. I don't think people will. Society is changing at an exponential rate so there isn't decades of generational ideology
  2. I don't think it will be an issue at all. People already have relations with non humans and interact with people virtually ever so increasingly
  3. This is exactly how models in our brains work though. Take the common phrase, "it's a bird, it's a plane, no it's...." This sheds light into the models of your brain. You identify an object in the sky and based upon your previous models it's a bird. But a longer observation invalidates that due to a characteristic that doesn't fit in the model for a bird. Say it's the objects altitude and speed so now your model of a plane agrees based upon previous observations of planes. It's how you can interpret like objects without ever seeing them before. Otherwise you would see a breed of bird you have never seen and have no idea what animal it is. Which is very similar to how machine learning would work. You train the model for birds then give it a never before seen picture of a bird and it will be able to identify it as a bird. AI was created by humans so it's pretty logical our own thinking is within it as we can't program concepts no human can understand
  4. Not apples to apples at all. MrBeast isn't posting tutorials, reviews, and educational content that requires credibility. What's the point of Linus building a testing warehouse if the main goal is flashy entertainment. That's like getting your weather forecast from TMZ. Take Top Gear for example durability testing a Toyota Hilux. They certainly didn't do anything scientific and weren't trying to but they still conveyed it's durability in an entertaining way. The issue isn't showcasing expensive tech. It's showcasing expensive tech to get views for the sole reason it's expensive. This makes the videos bland as the focus isn't the tech but the tech's value and the price paid. You also need to realize not everyone is dissecting thumbnails to try and determine what the video is about and some viewers are legitimately blind. Which is a huge middle finger from LTT and all creators alike. Good luck using Youtube with an assistant narrating the video titles as it's a pure shit show. Screw ADA compliance am I right?
  5. It is clickbait. LTT consciously chooses the titles and thumbnails for their videos so they get more clicks. So the purposeful choice of putting $45,000 in the title, instead of an actual description to what the video is even about, is baiting. Clickbait doesn't have to be downright deception or lying. It just makes you look like the tabloid magazines in checkout lines or TMZ. LTT uses clickbait to gain more revenue so LTT can grow and benefit the watchers. But now it's counterproductive as it's driving away core audience members and the videos become solely supported by the use of clickbait and the content knowingly featured to get more views. So now your revenue and choices mainly revolves around Youtube's algorithm. LTT is diversified though and has many revenue streams outside of Youtube like merch and floatplane so I don't see why they have such a hyper fixation on money.
  6. We don't understand our own brain so it's a dumb idea to try and predict this. The way AI has been going it's essentially a clone of the human brain slowly piece by piece which in turn also helps us understand more about ourselves. How do you know this comment wasn't written by an AI? You have no way to verify but you assume it's a human
  7. It feels like Linus made a testing workshop so he could just use the price of the equipment for clickbait. What a joke.
  8. Use I2P, there is no way you will get the end results you want without a shitload of cash and connects. Look at thepiratebay, the owners were trying to buy an oil rig in international waters to host the datacenter to avoid legal action. Yet both are in prison now and the site reigns on
  9. Hello, I want to make some merch for my company and just want a couple runs of a few designs to see what looks best. What's currently the best option for small order sizes for custom merch? I am thinking t-shirt, hoodie, and hat. Thanks!

Finally on Frontier Fiber once again. H8 Spectr…

DSL is better than cable since you have a dedicated line and its generally buried. Cable circuits in cities are horeshit
  11. I have an account I just don't like PayPal as a company at all
  12. Is there any way you can use it without Paypal?
  13. I'm not sure how to handle the licensing part and giving access to the files after purchase. I can think of a way I could do it with airtable pretty easily but it's sorta jank long term
  14. I produce music in my spare time and was approached recently by an artist who was interested in buying a beat pack. What is currently the best solution for this? Ideally I want it on my own website and to be able to accept crypto but that would take a long time for me implement. Thanks
  15. I visited LMG when they first moved into the warehouse and I gotta say it was badass but I totally understood why Linus tells people not to do it and sorta felt weird afterwards. I couldn't imagine chilling at work with people showing up outside to look at you
  16. So advertisers weren't okay that their ad was next to content that they didn't like but is fine running ads on the platform that supports the creators they don't like? As every single dollar that is spent on Youtube Premium doesn't go directly to the creators. Youtube is the definition of hypocritical moderation
  17. That's the inverse. Large companies get breaks while independent Youtubers get shafted. I made a video once showing how Youtube allows pornographic thumbnails and I got instantly banned forever without reason. Even though all the content was from Youtube that was posted sometimes a decade or more ago. Youtube is run by idiots
  18. That's not true, if the creator makes content that isn't unsalted plain crackers they will get demonetized
  19. It's sorta sad as huge companies will spend $280,000 on a coffee break room but lay-off a dev making $98k/yr instantly.
  20. I've had this issue before and I solved it by swapping to HDMI. For some reason DP wouldn't initialize during POST so I would blindly spam del to maybe get the BIOS to pop up but it wasn't a for sure thing. When I plugged in another monitor with HDMI it would show the POST everytime and I realized it was the DP port. It's annoying for troubleshooting but afterwards it's fine as you shouldn't need to poke in the BIOS often. I wish I had a cut and dry solution but that's all I have found for it so far. So you can use HDMI for troubleshooting then DP for gaming
  21. I think people forget Youtube did this to themselves by promoting longer videos to be more profitable and having a multi minute ad roll in the video doesn't help either. They also launched Reels so to think it's okay for Youtube to charge is absurd. Maybe they could spend millions on making a better codec or platform that doesn't rely on 30 minute videos to be non advertiser friendly
  22. The datacenter generates a lot of money so people want that money to keep flowing. Logistically too depending on the datacenter it's given that a handful of systems will not come back after a power outage. Datacenters use massive amounts of power, the datacenter I used to work at had a power meter on the wall and it said 4,730,432/Kwh for the month and that doesn't include the 5 other facilities/factories near it. What's even worse is 40% of the power is wasted due to idling systems, frozen jobs, and outdated inefficient hardware that could be centralized and virtualized now

So part of my great reorganizing was realizing…

I like that you have designed your own but if budgets are a constraint you could use these in the mean time
  24. I give it 4 years. So many servers now are using NVME drives doing special offloading or purely for speed
