  1. Thanks for putting these three a bit better into perspective for me! I will likely go with the 13400f
  2. From what I understood IPC is more important for gaming than video production or simulations. That is why I am drawn to the 12400f or 13400f instead of the 5800X3D that was proposed for example
  3. I will look at the prices but I am not convinced as the power draw will also be higher, i.e., more heat and the benchmarks even for the 12400f seem to deliver good enough 1440p performance. It's tempting to get it but my rational half is against it
  4. Thanks for adressing my points and I completely agree with you. I will look at some more comparisons of the two GPUs but the VRAM argument is also sensible
  5. Looks good for the price, PDifolco, but isn't the 5800X3D a bit too much as I don't do any simulations/CAD/editing on my machine and do not really need all this. The build itself is super nice, I would only downgrade the storage maybe and upgrade later to a 2nd drive when I need it and the H1 is nice and I considered it for a long time (amazon also offers it for 250€ when I ship to Switzerland, that is great!) but I read a lot about the pump being annoying and only running on 4000-4400 RPM and the PSU fan cannot be controlled.
  6. Hey jamie, super cool for updating the parts list, thanks! Nice suggestion with the KC3000 and the Noctua cooler looks good. Would you rather go with the 12600K instead of 13400f? As I cannot overclock the CPU anyways?
  7. Hey porina, thanks a lot for the reply! I thought that since it's 1440p and 4k, that the GPU will be the limiting factor anyway and that more fps than 144 will not benefit me anyway, but the 13400f is definetly an option, as the mobo allows a CPU-less firmware upgrade. The 4070TI costs around 925€ currently. Do you think that it is worth it? The 7900XT has more VRAM and better rasterization performance with potentially better performance if I can believe the driver improvements promised.
  8. I have my current PC for 9 years now and it's time for an upgrade. For this I would like your expertise so thanks guys for answering my questions and helping me! Budget (including currency): 1800-2000 € Country: Switzerland / Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, mainly RDR2, The Witcher 3 Next gen, Diablo 4 etc. Other details: -I have all peripherals already. -My monitor is a 1440p 27" and G-sync compatible. -I also have an LG OLED G2 evo, so I plan to do some cinematic gaming on this in 4K and as high settings as possible. -I would like it to be as quiet as reasonably possible. -95% of the time the pc will be stationary but I prefer something a lot smaller, as my current build is in a Define R4, which is quite large. -I would like to use Raytracing in some titles and do not mind turning upscaling on. Parts list: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/ywLyNc What do you guys think about it? Should I go to the 13400f or even another mobo such as the MSI MPG B650I and the new Ryzen 5 7600? Is the Intel stock cooler fine or what should I buy instead? I would then buy something like the Arctic MX-6 paste. Is 750W enough or opt for 850W PSU? I think it should be fine with such a efficient CPU and do not plan to upgrade in a long time again. Can I use resizable bar regardless of with which CPU I go? Is the memory I chose good or too much (regarding speed and capacity)? What fans should I replace or upgrade sometime later to improve on noise and cooling? Thanks and best regards Leo
  9. GoPro is appearently about to annouce their new Hero 10 Black, which is said to feature an improved SoC, called "GP2". It is supposed to allow 5.3K 60 fps, 120 fps recording at 4K and 240 fps at a resolution of 2.7K. The camera resolution has been boosted from 20 to 23 MP. From the outside the action cam looks very similar to the previous model, the Hero 9. The branding, however, now is accented in blue. Besides that, TimeWarp and Hypersmooth will also allegedly be improved, promising no need for a physical gimbal. It works by recording at a higher resolution and algorithmically cropping it to achieve accurate image stabilisation. Summary Infamous leaker Roland Quandt shares his leaks about the new GoPro Hero 10 Black. It features a new improved image processor. Quotes My thoughts I would love to see some improved video on action cams as they are rugged and very portable but when motion is very fast they always produce artefacts due to too low bitrates. They brand their SoC as custom but I would like to know more about it and if they actually designed it themselves, or if it is just a rebranded MediaTek or Qualcomm SoC. Sources WinFuture
  10. I thought they only updated the 15" and 17" versions. The XPS 13 got the update in January of 2020. I hate to be that guy, but will you add sources, maybe a picture of two of the new devices and your own opinion?
  11. Strangely only AMD seems to be doing it these days in the chip business. It really must be paying off, else they wouldn't do it.
  12. You are right. Despite that I still think the 1060 is a solid card and the power consumption is a little better, isn't it? I, although leaning more towards red, put a 1060 in my sisters pc.
