i beleive those changes have to be approved by the state, so call the local government

@Jtalk4456 looking at it, I think the increase happened in janurary, but I didn't notice because my house is extremely energy efficient until we get to the air conditioning months. Same bill this time last year was 20-30$ less but the actual price per kwh difference seems to have taken place in janurary.

Damn proud of their solar though. Raise rates, install solar, say their saying me money when they didn't need to raise rates, they had record profit after the solar installation.

i know the energy company around here is working on some clean energy project and had to request from the state government to raise prices to cover the project. I'm not sure how those companies work, but i'd assume they have money available to do a project without raising price, but maybe i'm wrong. Or maybe it has to do with energy being subsidized or something. Either way i'm more than happy to pay the extra couple cents if they are making the world a cleaner place

@Jtalk4456 they've gotten funding, they also charge a new fee for it, AND they raised the rate. It's almost like they want to blame it on the new solar but it's actually saving them money and was paid for.

probably so. Either way, when i build my house i'm using solar so i won't care what the energy company is doing

If it makes you feel any better, I pay 18 cents ... to my provider.  Then there's the network fees from the distributor etc.

By the time all is said and done, we're talking around 40 cents per KWh.  Makes you think twice about leaving your PC on overnight.
