  1. The RX 560 competes with the 1050 non-Ti, so the Ti is obviously better. Stepping up to a RX 580 4GB or GTX 1060 3GB will yield you big performance improvements.
  2. $60 is nothing if you are going to keep the monitor for a long time. Definitely get the IPS one.
  3. Pick one based on the I/O ports you need. The Asus one has more legacy ports, while the Gigabyte one has more USBs. Other than that it doesn't matter.
  4. Mid-range GPUs will get released a few months after that and prices are still unknown. If we are lucky, there will be new mid-range GPUs in stock for the holidays. A lot of gaming can be done in that time. Also there are people who are in need of a GPU, just like I was when my 280x died 2 weeks ago. $200 for a 1060 with a good cooler is a fantastic deal.
  5. The cooler on this one is pretty good. Has 2 heat pipes and pads on the memory and VRM. Recently got it and it never exceeds 70C while running quiet. For this price it's a steal.
  6. If you're getting an RX 580, get a Sapphire one. Nitro+ is the best 580 available. Pulse is slightly hotter and louder, but still a really decent card, better than MSI Armor.
  7. The 1060 performs better in most of the games you've mentioned. The only real advantage of the RX 580 is the Freesync support, so if you plan on getting a Freesync monitor, definitely get the 580. It consumes about 100W more than the 1060 so that should also be taken into consideration.

    Just bought a new RX 580 Nitro+ 8GB. Don't ask…

Yeah and it was DOA so I returned it. Getting a GTX 1060 tomorrow.
  9. Or you know, don't buy an iPhone.
  10. Just bought a new RX 580 Nitro+ 8GB. Don't ask me how much I paid for it.

  11. I plan on keeping it for as long as it lasts, or is not enough for my needs. I didn't feel the need to upgrade my 280x yet, so it's a nice upgrade.
  12. I think so too. I got my R9 280X after the market crashed in 2014/2015 and it had mined for a year and a half before I bought it. It died on me just last week.
  13. Hello there, My 280x bit the dust, so I'm in the market for a new GPU. The 11-series (or 20-series) could be still far off, especially the mid-range. I found a used MSI RX 580 Gaming X 4GB for 250€, with 2 years remaining transferable warranty. For comparison, the cheapest decent 6GB 1060 is 100€ more and a 3GB 1060 is 20€ more. It's not a great deal, but I think paying 350€ for 1060 is worse. Yay or nay?

    Debating whether to get a 3GB 1060 for 250€ or…

It's either dead VRAM or cracked solder joints on the GPU or VRAM modules. I saw a few 7970/280X with the exact same problem, but no one reported baking worked.
  15. Debating whether to get a 3GB 1060 for 250€ or wait for the prices of 6GB 1060s to drop (currently 100€ more expensive than the 3GB model). Intel HD 4600 sucks. ?

He has exactly same issues including line placement as many other boards with the same PCB.

If he has an option to get it fixed for a decent price then yeah, sounds like good idea.

  16. Budget and mid-range phones are now better than ever. You don't need to buy a flagship phone to get a good experience.

    RIP GPU

It booted on the 5th attempt, but sites like facebook lag if I don't disable hardware acceleration. I'll test with downclocked memory tomorrow. The weird thing is the memory stays at 1500mhz now and it's not going to idle clocks. It also doesn't respond to my manual downclocking.
