  1. It's been years since I built a PC. How long? My last one had an FX-8350. I've been starting to do more video editing now so I needed something other than my laptop. It's nice to see RGB being a lot more integrated nowadays. But I also see why Linus complains about all the cables. Wow, there's a lot. Way more than when I built my last PC. I wasn't just going to build something simple. I always loved making something unique. Even if it's just a paint job on the case, it's enough for me to say that this is a one and only. I'd really only ever build one ITX PC once for an HTPC years ago. So I decided to go this route this time around for my main PC. Even though I chose what seems to be the biggest ITX case on the market After hours of research, I decided on these parts. CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Mobo: ASUS Crosshair Impact VIII Impact RAM: G-Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB Storage: Sabrent Rocket Q NVMe 1TB Graphics: XFX 5600XT Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S Case:NZXT H210i Power Supply: Silverstone ET700 The graphics isn't the highest end but the computer is mostly for video editing. Plus with Nvidia and AMD both coming out with GPUs soon, I didn't want to invent to much in it just yet. For the case color I chose one of my favorite car colors. Honda's Phoenix Yellow. I had the paint mixed at a local paint shop and then I applied it in my friends garage. Don't think it came out to bad. A little rough spots around the edges, but was able to wet sand them down to smooth them down a bit. Do need to thread my cables, don't really like how the combs separate the cables. But overall very happy with this build. Was also looking at getting the Chromax Noctua cooler but they do seem to be out of stock. At a reasonable price anyways. Overall, had a lot of fun building this one. Brought back memories to all the computers I'd build and cases I'd mod. Was always an AMD fan and really happy to see them doing great these days. Let me know what y'all think. Maybe I can get back into more case modding
  2. Looks amazing, man. Patiently waiting for the finished product.
  3. If only it'd come out a bit earlier. Just started an m-itx build. Also, interior design reminds me of the HAF XB
  4. Just going to put in my experience in here. I put together a mining rig just about two weeks ago that cost me about 1500$. I only bought a motherboard, power supply, and video cards. I had some RAM, a CPU and Hard Drive lying around. I've already made about 1000$ in those two weeks. I was able to jump into Dogecoin early enough that I made a nice profit. Point being, you can still build a mining rig today and make a profit pretty fast if you pay really good attention to the market and coins coming out. I personally never got into CatCoins as I didn't see them lasting or becoming a thing. Still mining DogeCoins, though value is going down, still pretty profitable for now. And just a small tip. You can get 3 R9 280x's for about 1300$ and get about 2220Kh/s(Assuming you get 740khs on each card) or get 5 R9 270x's for around 1000$ and get 2200khs (I'm getting about 440khs on each card) and save a couple hundred bucks. Power consumption isn't that much worse either. Taking the numbers from Tom's Hardware 5 R9 270x's would take up 710 watts while 3 R9 280x's would take up 771 watts. Taking Anadtech's numbers tell a different story though 5 R9 270x's would take up 1420 watts while 3 R9 280x's would take up 1080 watts (Using the XFX R9 280X DD numbers). Believe the numbers you want, at the end of the day I can only tell you what I know, and that is that I'm currently drawing just over 1200 watts from the wall with 5 R9 270x's, a triple core AMD Athlon CPU, an MSI 990FXA-GD80v2 (I was looking at the 990FXA-GD65v2 but it was out of stock at me local retailer),4GB of RAM and a laptop 2.5 inch 500gb hard drive Also, I'm fortunate enough to live in an area in which I only pay 0.07$/kwh. I'll see about adding pics to this post later. Have a good day and happy mining Edit: Forgot to add that I do use the R9 290 in my personal rig to mine when I'm not using my PC. Get about 850khs from that. I will not be adding it to hardware cost for the mining rig since I got it for personal use and that's still it's main purpose.
  5. Just thought I'd let y'all know that the case is back in stock and is the same price
  6. So searched to forums to see if this was brought up and couldn't find anything. Was just browsing around for cases to mod and found the Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 on sale on Newegg for $49.99. Not sure how long it's going to last. Ordered two myself. I worked with the original Arc Midi and loved it and can't wait to get these. Product is here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352031
  7. Awesome job man, those colors look damn spot on. Can't wait to see more.
  8. LaMokona on both Steam and Origin. Mostly playing Gmod and BF3 at the moment.
  9. Yep. Did a tiny bit of modding and painting to mine. Build log is my signature, Project Tomb Raider. What color are you going with?
  10. Awesome build.Fans are great. I've used them in a couple builds, they look amazing.
  11. Posted this in the previous Ghetto Setup thread. Thought I'd share again though There's nothing on it right now but I still have it on top of my drawer :D Might come handy in the future.
