TRCornishboy's Achievements

  1. I found LinusTechTips just before the personal channel was made, I found him reviewing something on NCIX, can't remember what it was now but I was very young, and dumb, at the time. My favourite style of videos is defiantly the build logs, I love watching them even though I've watched countless videos before it still really intrigues me, and Linus always explains why he chose those parts and what the benefit is over others too. Which came in useful when I was doing an IT apprenticeship because I could argue with all the other apprentices . I would like to see more build logs, and more cat videos, those were fantastic. Cat videos are always funny, but why not have one from your favorite YouTuber too
  2. This didn't work, might as well sell it on or smash it up then?
  3. My friend basically brought a 4s up blanford show, and for some reason couldnt turn it on. Him being him and useless with technology I said I'd have a look, being an android fan myself I still thought I'd have a play, iPhones are forgein to me . Got it to my house and restored it, afterwards it required us to log in. Another friend thinks it's been iCloud locked and could be stollen or something. Can anyone help with this, returning the phone is out of the qeustion as it was brought at a show/festival whatever. What should we do? Sell it on again or what?
  4. This project has begun, I'm in the final stages of purchasing a tractor, the best part is I know for a fact my current PC will fit behind the actual seat in the cab, so I can use that case, (Corsair Spec 01 - I think). Move my PC into a new case, or my Zalman Z11 for now. Then get the parts in time, still finalizing on some parts. The tractor will only just fit on my drive if its the same size as the one I've driven before and taken home . Will have to see.
  5. Basic idea for the actual placing of computer, screens, levers, seat and such is currently being drawn up. It's difficult to work out with all the wiring, and too where I shall put it as well. Will have to go in the garage I expect for now
  6. That was done by the game developers. You think I can use 3ds max? haha Sketch Up is all for my plans (: Thanks for the support though everyone. I'm still finalizing details before I start spending the money on it (:
  7. Recently I've been speaking to a lot of PC Case modders on Facebook, some coming up with fantastic systems such as flight simulators that had the computer physically around the cab and such. This sparked an idea in my head, what's my favourite game, Farming SImulator 2013, what do I love in real life, Farming. How can I apply these two together? - Despite the literal link . The literal idea is to build a PC in a cube case, preferbly an M-ITX system, low end, nothing special as such, probably not even running a dedicated GPU I'm still not sure on how much the actual gear itself will cost. I have a budget of 2 grand for everything. Now, I could spend £300 on a cheap set of monitors (3 of them obviously), and £250 on a Logitech G27 and a couple more quid on a few joysticks, but then, it's not realistic. Plus the Modding Community of Farming Simulator recently had a leak on what could be coming for us alone! Now, if I can find the correct cab with levers possibly still in tact then I could modify this one to be as realistic as I can. The cab itself I plan to use will be one of these, my personal favourite (: http://www.cheffins.co.uk/assets/catalogues/lots/229/783.jpg http://www.cheffins.co.uk/assets/catalogues/lots/250/716.jpg http://vintagemasseyferguson.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/290-1.jpg http://vintagemasseyferguson.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/290-2.jpg Planned PC Specs so far: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/TRCornishboy/saved/xv3mP6 (Green means defiantly, red means may change) CPU - Intel Core i5-4670k CPU Cooler - Corsair H60 Motherboard - Asus H81M-E RAM - Kingston 8GB 1600MHz Storage - Kingston HyperX 3k 120GB Seagate 1TB 7200RPM Video Card - MSI GeForce GTX 770 Twin Frozr Case - Fractal Design Core 1000 PSU - EVGA 750W Optical Drive - Lite-On iHDS118 Monitors - 3 x BenQ GL2460HM 24" 1080P's Case Fans - 2 x Corsair AF 120 Red LED's Fractal Design 92mm Pretty simply idea as such, what do you guys think of the idea? The cab itself will cost maybe £200, it's hard to put a price on it and finding the right one at the right cost may affect which one I actually do end up getting. I don't plan on actually making it run windows, I was hoping to use Linux, probably Ubuntu as I have the most experience with this one. What do you guys think of it? Is it a good idea? Has someone ever done it before? Please let me know.
  8. In testing in works "apprentice" pc it works, all fine. Running off a dual molex to 6 pin at the moment and it's going good. Probably a power supply/Motherboard issue we've concluded. Will see tomorrow.
  9. Cornish, does it to us sorry . I drive 27 miles to work 4 times a week, and umm my car isn't good on fuel.. It was just an idea, I just wanted a 7770 or even lower really, you can have it back. What do you want to know. I already sold my kidney so that's out the question.. 8320 ):
  10. Due to recent events I lost my GTX 660 and am now currently PC less, without a high paying apprentaship and having to spenda round £120 a month of fuel I'm in a bit of a pickle.. Is it possible that anyone could lend me a GPU? Like anything, I'll pay for shipping and stuff if that's needed.. I miss my PC ):. Many thanks to all Dale.
  11. Yes. M5A99X R2.0 LV X ZY Turbo or something. definstly connected..
  12. I've actually not had a way of testing this, it's a CX500M, so I suppose the contacts could of gone with the cable? It has to 6+2 pins on one cable too if that means anything? (I've tried them both) As far as I can tell yes, it's an FX-8320 chip so there's no onboard graphics so I can't physically test that.. ):
  13. Basically, I think she's dead, to my knowledge and what I've tested so far; Different PCI-E slots Different Power Cable NOT TRIED A DIFFERENT COMPUTER YET <- Doing this Tuesday at work. The fan doesn't spin at all, most of the time, occasionally it will spin - but not for long. It also doesn't output at all apart from once when I did manage to get it to output to my TV via HDMI. The card I have is a KFA2 GTX 660, Reference cooler design version. If it has gone I'm not that bothered as they're not made anymore so I'll get my money back and get a nice pair of Radeons in my system Do you need any other information? Please don't hesitate to ask.
