  1. nope just straight from the router my isp supplied.
  2. I have a gigabit connection, on my gaming pc i get about 800-900, but on my second pc it caps at 190. ive tried the cable that goes into the 2nd pc in my gaming pc (straight swap at the pc end)and it gets full speed, my ethernet adapter is set to 1000/1000. im sure its not a setting in my router since swapping the cables over did not change the speed of the 2nd pc. it doesnt matter what port i use on my router the gaming pc is full speed and the 2nd pc is capped at 190. Am i missing something? ive never experienced this before. mobo is Asus Prime Z490-A, router is Asus RT-AC58U EDIT so i had an old pcie network card, pluged it in and now the second pc gets full speed. theres either a bum port in my new mobo or im missing a setting?.....whatever, i hate computers sometimes.
  3. ive got some proper glue, its not as good as the chloroform stuff, but it sets up pretty good and reasonably quickly, its only to laminate the sheets together anyway.
  4. I had an idea the other week about making an acrylic case with channels routed out, in side the walls of the case to run water. it involves laminating 3 pieces of acrylic sheet together. im not sure if anyone else has attempted it, im too lazy to google. i had a quick play over the weekend to see if it was going to work and it looks like it will, but i think im going to use a solid colour for the interior and exterior pieces(3mm thick) as i wasnt happy with how the clear acrylic looked when it was glued (streaks, bubbles etc...) . ill use clear for the center piece(10mm thick) as its cheaper than the coloured stuff and i can pretty much get it it any thickness i want. the pic below doesnt show all the streaks and bubbles in the glue, and it was also hard to keep the glue from squeezing into the channel its self, making the coolant look "jaggered" instead of a nice clean line. using chloroform to glue things together wasnt really an option due to the size of some of the panels. it would have been nice to see the water flowing through the walls, maybe ill explore some other options next time. anyway heres what i mocked up in sketchup. Ignore the colours, it was just easier on my eyes to have different colours. heres the raw sketchup file for those of you that have it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/646iwgreysjukk2/FINAL.skp?dl=0
  5. yea, still got a couple things i want to do, also want to make a dual monitor stand
  6. not as bad as it used to be, still cant get the back cover on though...........im lazy
  7. yea ill probably paint the ram heatsinks, might have a look at useing a pastel colour in the water, probably get these case fans too http://www.aerocool.com.tw/index.php/fan/ds/79-fan/ds-fan/1150-ds-fan-white-edition-14cm-information
  8. just a quick case mod/tidy up i thought id do since i was changing out the water in my loop. Before Stripped everything out and made a plan....sorta Cut a few bit of the case off Fabricated a PSU cover to hide all those pesky wires Fabricated a new corner to get rid off any holes etc.. i didnt need, also got rid of the 200mm fan and opted for 2 140mm fans (still need to buy them), i think it looks better Test fit Decided to paint the armor on my Z97 sabertooth And of course i had to paint the radiator to match the other one which was white too And then the assembly process and new tube routing Almost done, i want to get some sleeved cables, and i havent decided on any case fans yet, also ill probably get a pastel colour for the loop, dont know what colour, all in all i think just making up those 2 panels and running rigid tube has cleaned it up alot. im still going to make a panel for the holes in the left side just to finish it up. im pretty happy with it.........atleast for now.
  9. if you have plenty of time and atleast half a brain then you should be able to do it no problem
  10. so im going to replace my flexible tubing with acrylic, and i just wanted peoples opinions on the different fittings available. i like the look of the normal push in type The compresion type gives me more piece of mind in terms of it not leaking or pulling out for whatever reason, and the ability to remove/replace components easier and with out ruining the o-rings as much, but they dont look quite as nice opinions? thoughts?
