  1. So I ordered the 278q earlier this week and it should be here tomorrow. Now after gift cards and stuff it came to around 375 after tax. I noticed that the 287q is now 449 and after gift cards and tax that would be around 400 for it. Should I get the 287q and cancel my other order? I'm primarily using it for gaming and video editing. I have a GTX770 right now and I am upgrading to a 980 later on. I would most likely be running games in 1080p on either models for the time being so what do you guys think.
  2. Corsair H80i. Fairly simple install and corsair Link software is pretty nice for keeping track of temps.
  3. Yes, I do use the exercise files along with it, but even then, some of the tools and hotkeys are just hard to remember, practice is certainly key so I guess if youre not in school or doing this as your job and doing it very repetitively, then youre not going to retain it. At least Im learning the basic use and all the different tools and tips on being more efficient.
  4. Im 16 and have gotten my parents to graciously pay for lynda.com premium for a year. I am currently running an Instagram page based around PC Gaming for almost 2 years now with about 15.5 thousand followers and branching off of that I am starting youtube. I am currently taking a few courses at once right now including fundamentals of photography: exposure, Premiere Pro CC fundamentals, and I am currently working of Foundations of Programming: Fundamentals. Going off on a little tangent here, even though I am working with simple JavaScript, this has been so much fun seeing how something like simple text in notepad can be transformed into a working program and I am excited to learn more. Anyways, back to what I was saying, I have learned a lot, and I would like to get some tips to not only retain more information as I feel like once I actually go to apply some of these skills, I dont remember some and the videos dont really do a review, but also finding more courses that will be up my alley and wont waste my time. Thanks guys
  5. So I am looking for a new desk. Currently I have a long desk that is like 80" long that I built myself. It has grown to be terribly annoying and in the way so I wanted to get a corner desk. I was looking a the Ikea Bekant although its shape and size doesnt look like it is exactly what I was looking for. If anyone has that desk, could you post some pictures of your setup? My next option would be getting two Linnmon tops with the corner attachment, but I think having 2 creases would be annoying. I initially wanted the galant but that was discontinued and although they say that the bekant is the same thing, I dont think it is. Thanks guys.
  6. Before I say anything, I want to make it clear that when the Apple Watch first came out, I promised myself I was not going to buy it. I had a pebble at the time and wanted to upgrade for some more functionality which I didnt get around to doing until the beginning of January. As I walked into Best Buy with the mindset to pick up the Moto 360 V2 to pair with my iPhone 6s, I noticed the Apple Watch was on sale. Although I am not one to jump on bandwagons, as I was playing with Apple Watch display, I realized the Apple Watch actually isnt too bad IMO. I was instantly torn between the two and impulsively picked the Apple Watch Sport 42 mm. I used the for a couple of weeks with the constant weight on my shoulders of whether I picked the right product for me. Well tonight, I broke down and went back and picked up the Moto 46mm in Silver and Cognac leather. As soon as i got it out of the box and paired with my phone, I loved it. I do plan to maybe switch to android in the future, as I would prefer more customization. As I got it home for further inspection, I enjoyed the Moto experience, but there just wasnt enough functionality for my liking. Not being able to download ANY third party apps I was pretty much back to square one with my Pebble. I'm not bashing the Moto 360 in any way shape or form, if I was on android this would be my go to. But I feel like people should give the apple watch more credit than it gets. You may not be able to download any other watch faces, but performance has improved since Watch OS 2 and IMHO if you have an iPhone, either go with a pebble or go with the Apple Watch. I would like other peoples opinions on this subject, I know most of you guys probably hate apple, but if I wanted to spend another 350 bucks on a Moto 360 that had the same functionality my old watch did just with an upgraded display, I would be dumb. Like I said, I am in no way, shape or form bashing the Moto 360, like I said I would love that watch if I wasnt on iOS, Give your opinions!
  7. Let me start off by saying that when the Apple Watch first came out, I told myself that I was not going to be getting it. I've rolled with the Pebble Steel for about a year and I am looking for an upgrade. I love the look of the Moto 360 with the silver and cognac leather. The V2 is very appealing because of its compatibility with iOS. I'm afraid it's not going to be super functional though. The Apple Watch on the other hand looks great, despite having a crappy sport band and a little bigger price tag. The thing that draws me to it is the seamless functionality with iOS. I would be looking at getting the 42 mm although it may be a little small for my liking which would be something to get used to. I was looking for other people's input to see what you guys thought. Thanks!
  8. Soooo 980? 980ti? One 970 and maybe another one later down the road?
  9. Well there is quite the price gap between 390x and 980ti. Im kinda leaning towards the 390x right now. But as long as theres only a 4gb limit on Windows 10 then I dont see much point in going anymore unless I were to do multiple monitors or something which I really dont plan on doing. But I guess if youre spending that much on a gpu and there is an option with twice the amount of vram then why not go with it?
  10. What card would you recommend for that if there is a good card for that?
  11. Thats a really hard decision. Im kinda a Nvidia fanboy, but that 8 gb of VRAM is tempting. Both of these cards will be able to run 1440p at 60 fps?
  12. I currently have a GTX 770 which is about a year and a half old. I'm thinking about upgrading my monitor to 1440p in the very near future. I would probably get the monitor first and then upgrade my graphics card after. I was thinking the 980 but wanted some more input from other people. I do plan to watercool and overclock down the road which is something to keep in mind also. Graphics is something that are super important to me because I only play single player games (because of internet reasons) which I mod the hell out of. Like skyrim, and fallout 4. I would like to be able to have a steady 60 fps which high to ultra graphics on pretty much any game. Thanks guys!

    Airsonos

Hey guys! So I picked up a Play 3 today and I was pretty disappointed with its lack of AirPlay support and more that I talked about in an earlier post. I had recently found information on an article about a program called Airsonos which essentially gives sonos AirPlay support. I'm having some troubles installing it so if anyone has any experience with it or even know if it works as said let me know!

    Sonos Disappointment

    A) Money B) Space. Right now I have a small bluetooth phone dock which has an aux with an 8" home theater sub. All of this wired to a y splitter to a Logitech bluetooth adapter.

    Sonos Disappointment

Yep I have the desktop app, yet you cant use any other program to stream. Just that app I really dont want to buy a receiver, but Ill have to hunt around for some sort of solution thats a little for elegant than what I have now. It is literally a ghetto rats nest of wires and adapters, but it works and sounds good.
