    All skylake motherboards only "offically" support up to 2133MHz. RAM can run above this speed but it is technically an overclock.
    The specs of the board say that it does support XMP profiles. This means that when you boot up the machine, you can select the XMP profile that is stored in your RAM and it will automatically apply the settings to make it run at 2400MHz. Even in the unlikely case that it can't run memory over 2133, then that RAM will be perfectly happy to run at that slower speed. Everything is fine. enjoy your new PC

    This is only true if the z170 board is designed to work with DDR3. DDR3 and DDR4 are physically incompatible, so each LGA1151 board will either support DDR3 or DDR4.
    I may only be low-end boards that are DDR3 (just a guess) so OP may be stuck
