  1. None that I'm Aware of. Not using a Mac farm and E2EE from your device to the other are great steps.
  2. Fixed! lol yea I can't imagine Apple is going to take this lying down
  3. Summary An app called Beeper Mini is now available that uses a reverse engineered version of iMessage to send real EE2E messages from Android phones to Apple's iMessage on iPhones. It connects directly to Apples servers and does not need a Mac Farm. It costs $2 a month, but I suppose they have to pay their devs somehow. Apple releasing updates in attempts to break this could also break some of its older devices. It doesn't even require an Apple ID. Quotes My thoughts Sad that it has to come to this, however I love power moves like this. I personally have no reason to use it, but this could be incredibly useful for people with lots of friends since it supports both RCS and iMessage. 4. I am only familiar with America and there are still mom and pop shops that sell parts, but I can't think of one within 100 miles of my house. Heck even the nearest MIcrocenter is 3 hours away. Newegg is the only real place I get PC parts. Amazon sometimes, but their site is so hard to find things, I try to avoid it. I have also gotten a fair share of of non computer things from New Egg. There is trust there. Returns are easy(ish) and shipping prices are good. I have no legitimate proof, but i really do believe that New Egg would face the same fate as NCIX had they not went Marketplace strategy.
  5. I am not sure you understand how New Egg Operates (and I mean this respectfully). Got to newegg.com and browse around. I its a computer parts store with a side of marketplace. You can just buy things you want if they have it. Group buys just started happening last week (as far as I can tell) Group buys are a link on their home page. Anyone can participate. Meaning I could open New Egg, see a group buy is going on and say "hey that's a good deal I am going to Opt In". If enough other random people I don't know/do know opt in, The sale will be available for everyone who wants it for that day. i don't need to coordinate anything, i don't need to worry about shipping. NewEgg has shipping details figured out like Amazon. If not enough people opt in then the deal doesn't happen and no one gets anything and no one pays anything.
  6. It could be my own ignorance, but what other site still exists that only sells computer hardware internationally Online Only? Like I know amazon, BestBuy, B&H, and microcenter exist, but each of those either have physical locations or sell more than just computer hardware.
  7. No, every time I've been on the "amount of people needed" didn't take long to be reached and I could just get the product discounted. I didn't since I don't need them. I never said every deal was a good one, however DT 770 pros for $100 new is an awesome deal. If you are going to be rude about why waste your time commenting?
  8. This is actual thing New Egg is doing on their site. Sales vary, Amount of people needed for the sale varies, all sorts of items. Yesterday they had New DT770 Pros for $100. Today it was that Razor Keyboard in the screen shot. A few days ago they had some junky AUKEY headphones for $2
  9. That's my point though, If NewEgg was still the NewEgg from yesteryear, they would not be around. They would have went bankrupt a long time ago. They had to come up with something to stay relevant. Them becoming a marketplace sucks, and maybe there was a better solution, but it kept them afloat. I am just trying to start discussion on a new strategy they seem to trying to continue to stay relevant. Being a marketplace isn't enough anymore, they need something that sets them apart. I just thought group buys with really low prices was neat.
  10. Hello! I just wanted to see everyone's opinion on NewEgg starting their own versions of Group Buys! Personally, with NewEgg trying find their place in the modern online world, I think this is a super cool thing that can truly set them apart. That is, if they can keep up with it. The low prices that they are able to achieve with this are nuts. I think they would do well to include a "Group Buy History" to show what has been sold in the past at what price.
  11. Does this happen to be like a dell optiplex or some sort of old workstation machine?
  12. Its just a embed that pulls from the channel automatically
  13. If you received it as a gift, ask the person who gave it to you if they have the receipt. If it was ordered online, then you can just get the receipt from the confirmation email, or account it was ordered under. If it was in store, you might be able to get the receipt from them if it was purchased with a credit card and you know the date it was purchased.
  14. This seems like a pretty solid deal on a very capable laptop: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16834233548?Item=N82E16834233548&cm_sp=Dailydeal_SS-_-34-233-548-_-01202023
