  1. TYAN S8030GM2NE will often fail to boot into windows. Boot sequence looks like this: BMC loading starts → ends BIOS loading starts → ends Windows loading starts → several spins of dotted donut Keyboard lighting blinks and everything goes to 1. I tried different BIOS versions (4.02 and 4.00), removing all USB devices (i though it could be KVM’s fault), resetting CMOS and BMC HW, checking windows for errors (scannow, etc) - nothing found. 20 hours of memtest86 also gave no errors. Later, Windows event log states kernel-power with 0’s in all fields. (Not every time this bootloop happens, though) Board is from the early revisions, with 32MB BMC flash. Current BMC and BIOS versions are v3.00 and v4.00. Windows Server 2019 was updated to the lastest version. Full hardware list: CPU - EPYC 7302 MB - TYAN S8030GM2NE CPU Cooler - Exegate ESNK-P0064AP4 RAM - SK Hynix 16Gb 2Rx8 PC4-3200AA HMA82GR7CJR8N-XN, 8 sticks Case - SilverStone Grandia GD07 PSU - DEEPCOOL PQ750M NIC - Mellanox ConnectX-3 CX354A SSD - Intel 545s SSDSC2KW256G8XT. Checked windows boot logs. Failed one differs with the good one at “BOOTLOG_NOT_LOADED \SystemRoot\System32\drivers\dxgkrnl.sys” Failed boot log ntbtlog.txt Successful boot log ntbtlog.txt Bad one has that string 2 times, and ends exactly at the second attempt. Good one keeps loading further, gets a 3rd (failed?) attempt and keeps going. All failed boot logs look exactly the same, while successful ones usually have several driver entries in different positions in the log (overall number of entries is the same).
  2. Alright, it was caused by errors in routing tables. This one worked fine so far:
  3. Yup, my ISP does not provide static IPs. As i said - i need to be able to contact these two remotely, from completely another area. Well yeah, i'm quite sure some settings are wrong. That's exactly why am i here.
  4. That's my post on another forum about that issue. I'm on Win 10 22H2 on PC and Windows Server 2019 on the, well, Server. Windows 10 based OS'es don't have completely working drivers for ConnectX-3 either, since Ethernet part of them is not aware of intel's new architecture. I have to resort to using IPoIB, which doesn't use the same driver. Devices in the network on the pic i posted can't have a static IP address, so the only way i know to get remote access to them - is through VPN subnet. Will try that. Though, right now the 100Mbit is on like a 192.168.1.x subnet and 40Gbe IPoIB is on 192.168.2.x, and i still see that the interface regularly goes to "initializing" and cuts the 100Mbit connection during it.
  5. Hello everyone! I recently bought 2 ConnectX-3 cards to improve file transfer speeds between the PC and the "server", but i don't really know how to set it up correctly. Current setup looks like this: What i need is: 1) PC, Server and the Router should be in one network; 2) PC and Server should use 40GbE for transfers between each other; 3) When accessing the internet - they both should use 100Mbit link through the router; 4) Currently, both PC and Server are also connected through SoftEther VPN server hosted on a remote VPS. I wonder if i can set something up, so if some "service" is hosted on the Server - at least the requests made from the PC (in that SoftEther network) would go straight to the Server, and not to VPS and back. I thought "Local Bridge" would do that, but didn't work out as i expected. That link through the VPN is here because i need remote access to both the PC and the Server. I also have Navidrome using that virtual network for broadcasting to remote devices. Any advice and/or instructions on how i'd have to do all of this?
  6. What's the thickness of the stock thermal pads on the front side of the PCB? Manual measurements with calipers gave me about 0.5mm for VRAM pads and about 1mm for all the VRM pads. Here, in the alphacool waterblock manual for my GPU, they say that for both VRAM and VRM 1mm pads should be used. So, which are correct? Gigabyte declined my direct request for the measurements and sent me straight to service center. Here are some pics for the reference:
  7. USB storage doesn't have enough storage capacity to hold at least two copies of 500Gb SSD i want to backup. Right now i'm using 500Gb Kingston SX2000 as a backup storage (that thing was supposed to contain both of those folders, goddamnit!), but it wasn't supposed to be used like that, and it can only hold like 1 backup. So if NAS is the overkill - what about in-PC RAID1 or just single decend HDD?
  8. NAS is the "way pricier, but maybe better solution" to the problem. If the problem can realistically be solved with one drive or that RAID1 thingymagig - i'd better go with that. Big thanks for the link! Definitely gonna check that one. (Been running that 1Tb seagate (form profile) for like 8 years now. Hoping to get something at least this level of reliability) UPD: Out of that list - only found Seagate IronWolf ST4000VN008 4Tb 5900RPM locally. UPD2: Actually, there's also Seagate NAS Ironwolf Pro ST4000NE001 4 TB 7200 rpm, but that one is like 50-60% more expensive than the one above.
  9. So, after my recent hardware upgrade, win10 incorrectly copied the drive on the external one, and i basically lost both "AppData" and "Documents" completely. Now looking for a backup solution to automatically backup the whole 500Gb Samsung 980 Pro. Right now was choosing between 2-bay Synology NAS, RAID1 out of 2 4Tb HDDs, or just one 4Tb drive. I'm looking for: 1) CMR 2) Reasonable write speeds (especially for small files) 3) Decent reliability (not that crucial if it's gonna be RAID1, but for single drive - definitely is) 4) 4Tb capacity (for RAID1 - maaaybe 2Tb each, for single drive - maaaybe 8Tb)
  10. So, the upgrade is finally here. 12600K tho, instead of 12700K. Looks like i really have zero need for any liquid cooling. Withouth OC i got like 60C maximum across all cores under AVX load.
  11. Apps start freeze one by one. No BSOD, no suspicious error messages in windows event log. Occurs both during load (games) and just on desktop. One app freezes, and when you try to click anything else that still works - it freezes aswell, including windows task bar. Ctrl+Alt+Del does nothing. Mouse cursor keeps working even after everything on the screen froze. Already tried: 1) Disabling C-states 2) Updating BIOSes (for MB updating from F21 to F22 did "fix" the issue for several days) 3) Checking all drives for errors (using chkdsk) 4) Checking windows installation for errors (using scannow) 5) Checking RAM for errors (using Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool and MemTest) Hardware: In profile info. Boot Drive: that Samsung 980 Pro in M.2 connected to CPU. MB BIOS: F22 GPU BIOS: 90.04.76.00.D5 (previously it was 90.04.76.00.D4, did update it right before making this post) Windows:
  12. I've just heard a ton of negative reviews on alphacool's pumps in their AIO's. I guess one of your earliest suggestions (about sticking with D15) was right. Maybe some day later, but with something like Fractal Torrent and 180x360mm radiator. That one is at least advertised as custom loop ready, unlike PM01.
  13. Sadly, all three (EKWB, Watercool, HardwareLabs) are almost nonexistant here. There are few EKWB stuff resellers, but most of the stuff i looked for would have to be bought from EU. HardwareLabs site was an absolute mess, couldn't find basically anything there. What about Alphacool though? These guys are semi-popular here, so at least their stuff can be bought locally. Watercool and EKWB - from EU only. Watercool - yep, quite interesting, but also confusing. With their current waterblock in "OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE ALSO BOUGHT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS" section was stuff like backplates and so on. Is it actually included with the waterblock or i have to collect all that stuff separately on their site? And they sadly don't have pump+res combos. EKWB's configuration app was really helpful for a newbie like me.
  14. Fair enough. Though, as i said, i'm only in process in changing the platform i use (current 11600K is mostly fine with D15 as it's like 80-85C (using noctua's stock paste) during AVX512 load in AIDA64, if i set the voltages reasonably) for, hopefully, 12700K (or at the very least 12600K). EK XE rad is (afaik) like 60mm in thickness, so i'm quite uncertain about would it fit or not. Previously i tried to squeese 420mm Arctic AIO, but, well, nobody said that it should (though the case has 3x140mm on the front), so it didn't and i had to resell it.
  15. Hi! Nope, only watercooling my CPU. GPU waterblocks for my card are both rare an quite expensive (phantex and alphacool ones). Planned to go almost full EKWB as it's (as far as i know) the high-end of custom loop cooling, so it's either it, just some "basic" Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 or simply stick to already existing NH-D15. Like, you know, top end or damn it. Pump and waterblock - better be reliable and high perfomance than sorry later. As for the space conserns - i'm just unsure if the case really has all the necessary mounting points and so on. Like "will pump-res combo interfere with front mounted rad?". Or the thickness issue, because the Silverstone's restrictions for the rad sizes aren't all that helpful to be honest. Right now it looks like that: Ideally, i'm aiming for just one large and thick radiator with high rpm/high pressure fans + semi-large tank.
