  1. Thanks mpsparrow, the Pentium build gives me a good starting point. I'm going to do a bit of research on motherboards. I might opt for one that has 4 RAM slots just to give me that extra flexibility in the future.
  2. Would it be sensible to get a CPU/motherboard that supports onboard graphics and offset some of the cost of buying a GPU for an SSD?
  3. Thanks for everyone's thoughts. So rebuilding seems to be the consensus. Regarding the case, storage, GPU, and PSU: * The case is a standard ATX case and I plan to reuse it. * I am considering sticking with my mechanical hard drive for now as it is only a couple years old. (I had to replace it at the time.) * I left out GPU by mistake. It is currently a Radeon HD2600XT. I don't need anything extensive as long as it covers my photoshop needs. Would an onboard GPU make a difference? * The PSU would definitely need to be upgraded if I am switching out the motherboard. It's dated and it may not have the newer connectors too.
  4. I'm looking to upgrade my PC. I mostly use it for Internet browsing, document processing, photo post-processing and photoshop work. It's currently a Core 2 Quad Q9550 with 4GB of RAM and I've been running it for almost 10 years. But its starting to get slow for my needs. The first thing I considered was upgrading it to a 64bit system so I can make use of more RAM. But I dont know if that will make a difference and it's difficult to invest money into that option to only find out it doesn't get me anywhere. I am hoping for some recommendations from more experienced builders here. Here are the specs: CPU: Core 2 Quad Q9550 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L RAM: 4x 1GB RAM (Corsair 2X1GB PC2-5400 DDR2-667 CL 4-4-4-12, and Crucial 2X1GB PC2-5300 DDR-667) Power Supply: Antec HCG 520W GPU: Radeon HD2600XT I plan to reuse the case and HDD. The case is a standard ATX case. The mechanical hard drive is only a couple years old. While I understand the benefits of an SSD, that is something I can consider later on if it helps me stay within budget.
  5. I'm in the market for a new mouse and the Kiro looks just right.
  6. I would like to experience the weight and comfort of the FinalMouse.
  7. I have a MSI N560GTX Ti: http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N560GTXTi_Twin_Frozr_IIOC.html There is a fan that is getting a little rattly when spinning at lower RPMs. I am considering replacing them completely but I would prefer to avoid having to remove the whole cooler just to swap out the fans. From examining the cooler, there seems to be some screw points that mount the shroud on to the heatsink but they are in weird and awkward spots. Anyone with experience with working with this cooler have some advice to provide as to the possibility of removing only the shroud? Will there be certain tools that will make the job easier? Thank you
  8. My favorite item in this bundle is the Kuhler 1250 because I have always wanted to outfit my PC with a liquid cooling system but haven't been able to justify the budget to spend on one to replace my stock cooler.
  9. Great looking backpiece and expandable features!
  10. I own the M7 and I can't imagine myself with anything else. The M8 looks to make subtle improvements to what is already a solid phone.
