  1. Try the new ram by itself and run windows, test in windows and see if everything is working fine. Then swap to old mem by itself, repeat. Then Try both together, if it starts craching, rebooting. The ram sticks are causing a conflict between each other. If you can not find the same ram stick you have, Upgrade by getting a pair of the same and replace all your ram. Mixing ram sticks is not a good idea, Speeds, timings are different and can and will cause issues. 1 stick might ask for 1.2v and the other 1.3 etc and that can also cause issues. I am asuming i3-550 if I remember is DDR3, Id go with 2xDDR3 4gig sticks to replace everything you have.
  2. I am thinking it's the PSU, sounds like it's not able to give the card the power it needs, Like Grab said Cougar is not a quality psu. I'd swap it for a 750w Corsair, seasonic, 80+ Bronze. PSU is a lot cheaper then a vid card.
  3. Yes I would redo the paste. good paste- Grizzly Kryonaut ok paste- MK4, ok paste- Artic silver 5 (old but trusted)
  4. I do not see a cpu cooler in the 2nd picture, you may have burned out your cpu trying to power up the computer with no cpu cooler. What CPU is it, are you sure your cpu has integrated gpu. Whats are the specs? Mobo- cpu mem ????
  5. Run the PC for about 20min, use C bench, or something to add a nice load on the cpu. Shut down, turn PSU off, unplug and also hit the power button a couple times to drain any caps of power.. Unscrew the heat sink, lift easy while twisting heat sink like a screw. the twist and lift will un-stick the cpu from the stock thermal paste. If you must wear gloves, do not wear cloth, wear surgical gloves but I tend to not wear any at all. you should be fine, just wear a hat or bandanna to keep any forehead sweet from dripping.
  6. once PS5 and Xbox SX come out and Nvidia releases RTX3000, AMD new RDNA2 cards, more and more games will come with RT. I would either wait for the 3000, or go with a 2070. I think the next COD will come with RT and it's going to be more common for all games coming out this fall and onward. I think even Fortnight is going to be putting in RT in the spring,
  7. Im sure there will be adapters, I can remember when PCIE 4pins came out there was Molex to PCIE adapter packaged with ever vid card for a few years. Im sure there will be a 8+4 to 12pin adapter.
  8. I need to add my 2x Noctua Nf12 redue 120mm fans, and upgrade the 1660Ti to a GTX 3070 when release. No hubby was not into computers he just used them for work. Music was our hobby together. We both sang with San Francisco Gay Mens Chorus among other orginizations in the bay area. Also my husband was the music director and organist for the Cathedral here in downtown San Jose.
  9. I have a 65" Samsung Q70 2019 and it's a sweet TV. 120hrtz and 1ms response time when game mode is turned on. You can get that for right about $1k, but be careful, the 2020 Q70T models are Edge lite, not back lighted like the 2019 Q70.
  10. late V-day gift from my husband who passed away from Covid-19 Feb18th. We were in talks before about building me a new PC. It's been a long rough 2020, but I finally ordered my parts and put together my system. I took extra time with cable routing and I think she came out quite well. I did get braided PSU cable extension kit. Our Favorit color is Lavender, so I went with a purple color theme. the LED lights look Lavender but the cables are a darker purple but you can not really tell the color of them. I could not find silver, I think they would have reflected the LED lights. 11. Get a UPS back up power source , I had an old apartment, built in 1960 and the power was so dirty it was causing all kings of issues. Get a 1000+ VA back up. If power goes out, you have about 2-5 min to shutdown your PC. I went through 2, corsair CX750w PSU in 1 year. Corair replaced them but told me they would not honor a 3rd replacement unless it's over 6 months and recommended me to get a PSU backup power source. it worked, PSU is 6 years old and still kicking in a old media center I3-4 series.

  13. I actually had this happen before, I installed a mobo standoff in the wrong spot and the mobo was touching the stand off, cause a grounding issue. I got lucky I did not dmg my motherboard. You may want to check into that.
