  1. Right now I have a TP Link Archer A7 as my main router in the first floor of my house. I want to extend the coverage to the ground floor as well but I'm not sure how to do it. I was able to come up with two options: Buying a new router and using it in access point mode or just buying an access point Buying a range extender I don't want separate Wi-Fi networks in my house. I want all the devices in both the floors under one single network. So how do I go about solving this problem?
  2. So I dual booted linux along with windows 7. I messed up by not removing grub properly. I just deleted the linux partitions. Now windows 7 boots but it takes almost 15 mins. The bios is not uefi and the ssd is mbr. It's a pretty old computer.
  3. @mahyarI had never tried installing linux and seeing the difference. But I installed manjaro xfce and I can use the laptop again. Thanks again for helping.
  4. I'm sorry if I'm bothering you by asking too many questions but can you briefly tell the differences between xfce and kde?
  5. Since I'm already using Elementary OS, I think I'll go with lubuntu. Is it beginner friendly?
  6. I have a very old laptop which no one in my family uses anymore. It can hardly run windows 10. I just want to install Linux and see how it performs. Since, I'm a beginner at linux, the only two distro's I have in mind are Mint OS and Elementary OS. It would be helpful if any one of you could suggest a proper linux distro for a beginner (even if it is anything other than above mentioned ones) according to the specs. Specs of the laptop: CPU: Intel i3 380M RAM: 4GB of DDR3 RAM Storage: it is a WD HDD with 300GB of storage space P.S. I've been using Elementary OS in a virtual machine on another pc for a week now. So if Elementary OS is suitable it would be very good.
  7. I had a similar problem with my new hdd, where the computer would freeze for a second when I used it after it was idle for a while. Just changing the "sleep after" setting to 0 seconds (never sleep) in power settings solved it.
  8. It won't be enough. Especially for the power spikes. Graph from the LTT review of the 3080Fe:
  9. With your current setup, the discord output audio is your discord input audio as well like a loop. It is like holding a mic next to a speaker. This is a good tutorial for virtual sound mixing and virtual cables I found:
  10. Exactly! It's so frustrating and disappointing when companies rush their products due to the hype factor.
  11. I started using Voicemeteer Banana just yesterday. I set up all the output and input devices but I have one problem. When I set Voicemeeter Input as my default playback device, the media keys on my keyboard except the mute button don't seem to affect the volume. What settings should I modify so that I can control the volume with the media keys on my keyboard?
  12. @Deepak_Fletcher I don't know if that display message at the end from nvidia is normal. If that is not normal, then I think it is the gpu. If you have time for replacement, wait if someone can diagnose and identify the part which is giving you problems. Otherwise I think it is better to get a replacement. If you replace the gpu and it works, can you do an update? I'm very curious.

  14. Try running DDU and reinstall the drivers. If the issue still persists, I think the gpu is giving you problems. You can check out the latest JayzTwoCents video where a similar problem existed.
  15. Running ddu is the only thing I know from experience. Someone with more experience and knowledge might be able to help you out. Sorry mate.
  16. If the i3 build is the one with the 450w psu, first swap the 450w psu with the 650w psu. If the 650w psu is functioning properly in the i3 pc, then test the gpu in the same system as well. In any case, don't use the psu and the gpu together.
