  1. I started watching your channel even before you had your msi GX660r laptop. Which with the help of your review helped me to choose that exact same laptop to buy. I remember when your youtube account got hijacked and you posted updates on your linuscattips channel regarding it. You handled the hijack rather well linus. Im sure if you think about that right now being that its now your primary source of income, you'd piss and shit your pants. Ah well, memories... I most like the videos that you shot yourself and in a more up close and personal matter. like for example when you were painting your garage for the "linus tech tips live" show. I liked that as if you were talking to someone and not to an audience. Those were the videos i liked best. Anyway, congrats on making it this far! And i hope i win a giveaway.
  2. I like the Z2 more than the S5. Its almost they are on par with the M8. And they sponsored this video!
  3. I like the Sony Xperia Z2 because it has all the features that i want in a smartphone. Stereo front facing speakers, water/dust resistant, built in system wide EQ and Reverb, along with that oh so important audio feature "loudness equalization". This may be my next main phone. And by the way, that dbrand custom skin on that Z2 looks good! I wouldnt mind having that phone itself if i win. PS: nice review for the phone linus, you just showed me just enough things that are important to me in a smartphone to want the Z2.
  4. Wow, thats a great score. I have my GHZ edition 7970 at stock clocks with the same Image Quality settings as with the picture above. Stock 1050mhz core/1500mhz vram vddc: 1.158v 108.4 fps OC 1100mhz core/1575mhz vram vddc: 1.158v 113.8 fps with a Phenom II X6 1055t @ 3.7ghz
  5. MSI has a config that has a 7970M for around 1200$. But the cpu paired with it is kinda weak. Makes perfect sense if you only really wanna do gaming on a gaming laptop.
  6. And quick charging a battery rather than slow charging it will kill the battery faster. Trickle charge takes the slowest but is the best way to preserve a rechargeable battery.
  7. As one stated, MSI make great laptops. They even have a 7970M equipped machine for maybe around 1200$. And yes, when it comes to mobile gaming terriory, intel cpu's have been paired with radeon cards. One perfect example is Linus' gaming laptop (MSI GX660r, Core i7 740qm with HD5870m)
  8. Thanks for answering guys. I have upgraded to a 7970 and the fps increase are very noticeable. I do agree with art vandelay, my FPS are 10-25 fps short of the fastest CPU (3770k) with the games that i play. With the GTX460, when i max GTA 4 it struggles to spit out 18-22fps. Now it has climbed to 49-61 fps. A huge and very very notice able improvement. Along with Crysis 3, the GTX460 can run it at medium-low settings with no AA and barely keeping it at 30-33 fps. Now its holding up to 40-50 fps all maxed out.
  9. I found out how to fix the problem and want to share the solution. I just disabled chrome's built in flash player. And left the system wide flash player enabled. Then, tada! Internet/flash/youtube videos are now being enhanced by the AMD driver video enhancements.
  10. Thanks for the answers guys! You have indeed made a great influence for me to arrive to the decision to acquire the 7970. To my suprise, once thought to be reference 7970 isnt a reference at all. The only reference about it is the price. Its still a PowerColor but with a V3 designation, it has an aftermarket coolor, 3 fat heatpipes with dual fans which are really quiet up to 80% and red pcb with reference mounting holes to the cooler. Which might mean, i could upgrade the cooler to an Accelero Extreme 7970 later on or a Deep Cool Dracula 7970. Thanks a lot!
  11. Unfortunately i am limited by the local stores in my area. So i am stuck to choose on which what my local pc stores has to offer that is readily available in stock. I can make a request for them to order a more exotic/better 7970, but sadly it would jack up the price by a considerable amount and will take a long time as they will be ordering overseas. And if i have to RMA, they will not have any stocks to replace it. I see from the majority that my best choice is the reference 7970....
  12. Thanks, i just read around the net that some say avoid reference. Even though its a reference card, its the best choice out of the three?
  13. If you mean what types of MXM modules of laptop GPUs are there you can find the answers here: http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/Tech_13.html http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/Tech_30.html
  14. Hi, i am about to upgrade my aging GTX 460 1gb to something more capable Here are my only choices accompanied by their price found in my area: PowerColor HD7970 3gb (reference board/cooler) 438.68$ Asus HD7950 DCII Top 3gb 430.20$ Asus GTX670 DCII 2gb 475.04$ I implore your knowledge and recommendations of which of those three would be my best option.
