  1. Hi, I have recently acquired a used rx 480 8gb, and installed it in my current rig, but have no display out. my previous gpu, a gtx760 works just fine and so does the integrated graphics on my 4690k, displaying into my telly through VGA, the hdmi port or VGA through an adapter. the led that shows if power is being received is on, and PCI e is selected as the primary display option in the bios i have installed drivers whilst operating the system on integrated graphics but the issue still persists. Any diagnosis or fixes? Many thanks
  2. Budget (including currency): 2-300 GBP Country: UK (England) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: ETS2 FS19 Just cause 3 Mon Bazou My summer car Asetto corsa ClusterTruck CS:GO DCS world X-plane 11 sketchup davinci resolve Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): existing PCpartpicker list: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/aoliver19/saved/XxBkJx Hi all, the time has come to rebuild my computer. This will be a part by part process as I recoup budget, but first off is the cpu, which will involve a change of motherboard and ram to a new socket and new ddr standard. I am looking to spend £200-£300 maximum, board needs to be miniATX and CPU should be a more than 8th gen intel or the equivalent ryzen (I am open to switching sides), also 16gb ram minimum, I am also willing to buy used. not in any rush so can wait for a price drop on 13th/12th gen when the 14th gen release many thanks, Andrew
  3. so... I bought a water damaged early 2013 MacBook pro in hopes of fixing it, the description said it made 3 beeps when plugged in, i recieved it, and it did three beeps, i did some research on the topic and discovered i would have to do some complicated soldering so went shopping for motherboards, I bought a cheap one which was also water damaged but had some resistors missing in the picture, which were still on the original motherboard and looked easier to transplant then ram chips. the second motherboard let the laptop charge but no turn on, so, my question is, what's wrong with the second motherboard, can it be solved with the resistor transplant or should I just save for a proper replacement, if so can you recommend some? however replacing the motherboard properly is not ideal as not currently having the funds does hinder my ability to work
  4. I was wondering if it was possible to use one of these type of switches to power on my pc, I was planning to put the wires in through my Side panel to short them by turning the key and pressing the button, I got the idea off tiktok but was going to check here first to see if I was a bad idea. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294770645258 if it wouldn’t work would would some other suggestions be, I don’t really want to drill into my case
  5. I'm looking at buying an iPhone x on ebay, but the description says it has an 'untethered bypass' on it. Would resetting the phone remove it or is there any other way? Many thanks The description: For sale I have an Apple iPhone X - 64GB - Space Grey (Unlocked) A1901 (GSM) this iPhone is on iOS 14.8 and cannot be updated as it is an untethered bypass paid for on a premium service using checkm8.info if you do update the device to iOS 15 the lock will come back and you will be stuck with it please acknowledge this as it’s very important to know.if you do not know what an untethered bypass is then please do not bid on this item only people who know what an untethered premium bypass is.the battery health is 87% iPhone is unlocked and open to all networks make calls data and sms in very good condition and excellent working order as you can see in pic’s there is a small scratch to the left of screen does not affect the functionality of the device Face ID and everything else works an absolute treat it’s an amazing device fully activated you can sign in to iCloud iMessage and FaceTime it all works amazing selling just the iPhone only.

  7. I think that Linus wears it round his ankle as I saw in a build guide (the POV one I think?), but with their electroboom video recently it didn't seem to affect RAM until they got really serious with static guns etc, however I always ground myself on a side panel etc before working on a pc
  8. I have been trying to install drivers and apps recently, I can't seem to get it right, so was wondering if there was a gui for it, as it is putting up a fight

  12. hello, recently I was having trouble with my PC, so I came here for help, originally i was having bsods with my install media, and questioned the windows thread full conversation here, and i was told to run memtest86, i did so, and it didn't indicate any errors, so i carried on troubleshooting and after editing my post, i got a reply saying that the error codes i had were normally due to an unstable CPU, his comment seem even more plausible when i tried to install Linux and it threw up lines of code, unlike when i booted from my Linux USB on another machine, which just came up with a little setup then the Linux desktop, most of which seemed to relate to trying to shut down the CPU and it panicking, i wanted to know, before the CPU i am considering ends today, the one that i am running at the minute is a i3 4130, looking at an i5 4690 for said ending CPU, thanks in advance, Andrew
  13. @Mateyyy i booted off of it, tested it, and it didnt indicate any errors. are you aware of somethin like memtest86 for cpus, thanks, andrew
  14. Thanks, will put it on a usb and use that
  15. ok, thanks for the info, how do i run memtest86 and also are driver errors linked to my pc memory
  16. Hi, I have been having trouble with my OS recently, (it has been throwing up BSODs on boot, then freezing) so I thought best to reinstall windows, so i plugged my hard drive into borrowed machine, formatted it, and then proceeded to create windows install media, with Microsoft's tool. Later, I plugged the HDD back in to my machine, plugged in the USB and went into boot options, and selected the USB stick, (note here there were two options, one that had the USB sticks name on it,, and one that had its name on it, but the words were spaced out, i selected the one with normal spacing) A windows loading screen came up, and then it spat out a BSOD. I had formatted the USB on the other Machine before making media, after a few unsuccessful attempts. i remade the install media, still no luck, please can anybody help, I could put ubuntu on it and see if it persists. thanks in advance, Andrew (EDIT: the bsods were driver irql not less or equal, and irql not less or equal)
