Production is actually sometimes outsourced. In Germany for example Guinness (and Kilkenny ) is actually made by Radeberger. Well I actually visited Ireland once and what I can say is that Guinness is different there because they also inject Nitrogen into the beer in addition to Co2. It's very creamy.
