  1. AMD likes faster clock speeds but if you can find a kit with lower cast latency and cast latency and 3600mhz go with that found one for 10 bucks more: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/PLt9TW/mushkin-enhanced-redline-stiletto-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-cl14-memory-mrf4u360ekkt8gx2
  2. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JjrQGP this should be enough for simple coding
  3. First off, if you dont plan on overclocking the cpu, it would be best not to go with the K model because thats the unlocked one and the one that you can overclock. To save a bit more of money consider going with a F mode which doesnt have an IGPU because you dont really need it with a dedicated gpu. For your price range i think a 13700F should be sufficient. As for the GPU i think that for "basic 3d modeling" and 2d motion graphics a 4070ti should suffice. Anything higher than a 4070Ti would be overkill and anything less might not be enough to futureproof the pc. A fast and reliable storage option would be the 980pro 2tb which has dropped significantly in price and is really fast. I see that your pc part picker list is for a white pc build but if you didnt care about the color these are what i recommend https://pcpartpicker.com/list/b3QgXk
  4. If i were to guess probably a GPU bottleneck
  5. he has 2 pro display XDR's and everytime I walk into his office it is always so loud.
  6. he does some pretty advanced stuff he has NDAs on but it involves a shit load of servers, machine learning and cloud computing
  7. yeah i noticed that. That is with the apple silicon right? cus my max spec 14 inch runs quieter than the almost base intel macbook my dad has
  8. it only has 512 storage and he doesnt like to use my nas. He doesn't really care about tech so I buy him stuff with my own money that I make for trading stocks and side hustles
  9. Alright, as the title says I want to treat my dad to the new M2 max macbook. I've worked really hard last year making money doing side hustles and my dad is still rocking a 2019 intel macbook pro. When the m1 launched, he said that a lot of apps don't support the ARM architecture or smt? I was wondering if support has gotten better for cloud computing stuff. I currently have the M1 max 14 inch so I know its a good laptop but I was just wondering if all the initial ARM support problems are generally resolved.
  10. try undervolting the cpu first then trouble shoot the CPU cooler because 1) it could be a defect 2) you might not have a good contact to the CPU
  11. first of all the PCpartpicker link doesn't work, second if you want you could go ryzen 5500 and also save money on the cooler because it comes with one. To save even more you could get a used 20 series and it would be more than enough for 1440p gaming
  12. in theory, indefinitely provided you have enough storage and the camera doesn't overheat
  13. I have no experience with gaming laptops because I am currently using a thin and light for productivity and a PC for gaming. However, I am willing to be that the lower tdp 3080 will out preform the 3070. This again however depends on the laptop and its thermals. If you don't mind, can you send me the links?
  14. that's quite low for a 3070. Most modern GPU's are designed to withstand about 95c if needed. I would even say you could probably overclock it a bit
  15. the case has bad airflow get https://www.amazon.com/Montech-X2-Black-Mesh-Pre-Installed/dp/B08NDFV3Y5/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=pc+case&qid=1629562791&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFDSkQ2RERES0xBMlgmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAwNzc0NjIyUDZJQ1VRRlVKVURXJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA3MTI5ODFRTTBGNzhTWlNKOFYmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl and you can get 3700x for about same price as 3600 now idk why
