I am considering grabbing more RAM for my computer, but for it to fit, I'd need to move the 135mm fan on the Dark Rock 4 to the opposite side of the cooler. Does anyone else have experience with this issue on this cooler? Can it work in a pull-only configuration?

Do i need to upgrade my motherboard as well.

The A320 chipset does not support Ryzen 3000 series chips Edit: It depends, you'll have to verify support on your individual mobo. -

Unless he needs PCIe 4.0, or is planning on extensive OCing, B450 is plenty. -

If you build it yourself, you can get this system for $150 AUD less, with a better GPU, and something that has a chance of keeping that monster CPU cooled. For the MOBO, the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max comes ready for ryzen 3000 series. You're using a liquid cooler, so RAM clearance shouldn't be an issue. Get at least 16 GB DDR4-3600. The tighter the timings the better. This is a great kit for GBP 93: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/njvqqs/crucial-ballistix-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-bl2k8g36c16u4w

Keep at least the exhaust fan, more important to have better case airflow than a second CPU fan. If both fit, keep both, it will keep the CPU a bit cooler.

I looked on the forum that @Gorgon posted, and it seems to be an issue with 14301 on Windows systems. They claim to have restricted 13401 to Linux now. -

Weird. Just an air-cooled card over here, running at 59C, but in a colder than usual room. It's not even using more than 80% of the power draw, which confuses me for such a hefty WU -

Uninterrupted flow of WUs overnight. Maybe now I can withstand @cbigfoot 's onslaught for a few more days. -
Honestly, demand for computers and components is so crazy right now that it might just be better for you to wait. New Ryzen 4000 laptops are supposedly coming out within the next month, and retailers should eventually catch up with demand, so I would personally wait a few weeks unless you absolutely can't wait.

The heatsink should just stick on top of the drive

This is the exact setup I'm running, no complaints. I also have to agree with @Mister Woof, the 4000 series desktop processors are right around the corner (hopefully).

Ryzen 3rd gen for Ableton
jctappel67 replied to Despacitus's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Actually watched the video this time. Since you're using Ableton, I would recommend the 2700X, or 3700x is your budget can swing it. Video editing will also benefit from the extra cores and threads. -

Your use case might actually benefit from the extra cores and threads, but I've read that Music Production tends to do better with higher clocks and IPC, which favors the 3600x. Conversely, video editing would probably be better on the 3700x. It depends on the programs you use, so someone else can give you better info tbh. -
For the stock cooler, those are normal temps. I'm running a Dark Rock 4, and my temps reach about 70C at full load, with up to 81C if the GPU is on full load. It's probably not worth worrying about. Your temps are still safe.

Yep, always one lined up

Just got Project 14436. 53000 Base Credit. I haven't felt so happy in weeks -
GPUGrid also gives good points, not as good as Collatz, but the best I've found that's working on Covid-19
