  1. I believe consoles are at least one or two generations behinds PCs. Also, PCs have the added benefit of being modular, meaning you can swap out parts for upgrades whenever, whereas consoles aren't. Not to mention that PC players have access to more games through Steam, Battle.net, Uplay, Origin, and Epic. I believe that there are more PC gamers than console gamers too (I might be wrong). I guess your decision also boils down to what games you want to play - if they're mainly console only releases or not - and whether you have any friends that you play with that are tied to a specific platform.
  2. Either get the 2060S now or wait till the new cards are released.
  3. At $1.7k, you'll be able to buy the Xbox Series X, 3 times. You could indulge yourself and buy the PS5 AND Xbox Series X + a monitor/TV, games and other peripherals and probably still won't spend $1.7k USD. However, having a powerful PC would make your life much better (#PCMR), especially if you see yourself doing other things besides gaming. How future-proof do you want your PC to be? Currently, a PC such as this one, could play all the latest AAA games at decent frames.
  4. What are your RAM's speeds? You could wait for a sale on the 2060S, and upgrade your RAM if they are slow. I think the difference between the 2060S and 2070 is marginal, and not worth the price difference.
  5. As others have said above, €400 isn't going to afford you a decent gaming laptop. I think you'll need closer to €600 for that.
  6. Does your GPU have the latest drivers installed? Could we also know the make/model of your monitor?
  7. Does the system still boot? If it does, then there shouldn't be much to worry about, might just be a bad screen.
  8. What's your budget and where are you located?
  9. So to be clear, your monitor has onboard speakers and you wish to use them? I believe your GPU has nothing to do with audio output, only video. Audio goes through the I/O ports on your motherboard. Could it be that the onboard audio for your monitor is not working?
  10. No, we literally don't know. Could you explain exactly what the problem is?
  11. Could you upload a photo of your PC? Specifically the fans, could help diagnose the problem.
  12. Lower TPF could mean higher final credit, but the estimated credit is just that - estimated.
  13. Could you run CrystalDiskMark and share your results? If you're running Windows Server, you'll need to disable SMB signing as it causes a lot off issues; see this.
  14. Are your fans installed correctly? Your ideal airflow should be front-to-back and bottom-to-top.
  15. If it's "stuck" and there are no new entries in the log for hours at a time, try reinstalling the FAH client.
  16. When this happens, I find restarting my PC to do the trick. Do note that due to the surge in the number of users, the number of available WUs are much lesser, and the FAH team is doing everything they can to try to get more WUs up and assigned, so be patient!
  17. Estimated credit is the amount of estimated points you'll receive for that work unit (WU). PPD stands for points per day, which is also an estimate of how many points your system can generate, per day. TPF means time per frame; the time it takes for your system to complete 1% of that WU. 18. It could be that the cable is bad and/or the range extender is not set-up properly or in a place of poor connectivity. If the range extender has a set-up wizard, you can run through that again. Try positioning the extender closer to your router too, or in a less dense area.
  19. Yes, as long as you're not running 4k, you should be good.
  20. A GPU bottleneck is when your CPU is waiting for your GPU to finish rendering frames before sending it any more work. So basically your CPU is ready to send more frames to be rendered before the GPU has finished it's last workload. https://pc-builds.com/calculator/Ryzen_7_PRO_2700X/GeForce_GTX_750_Ti/0R60Jp8A/8/ They recommend to upgrade your GPU to at least a 1080 Ti.
  21. A GTX 1660 Super is probably one of the most value for money cards right now.
  22. A 750ti will display in 1080p, no problem. However, I think you might get some bottleneck with the 2700x.
  23. It's probably because the FAH team managed to deploy more work servers and assign more WUs to people; they're trying hard to catch-up with the demand in WUs due to the surge in users.
  24. Do note that the 2700x doesn't come with an integrated GPU, so you'd need to buy a GPU too.
