i believe thats a normal function of windows that automatically selects how the folder is displayed by checking what file types are in it. Be it music or pictures or other folders etc....

whether or not it does it correctly is definitely up for debate. but as far as i know there no way to force a default way to view every folder as each folder retains it's own individual settings.

    Thats retarded.

  2. How do I set the default to show in details mode, the following colums: Type, date, size and path for ALL WINDOWS? It just refuses. I followed this tutorial:

It doesn't work, windows have still settings randomly applied, sometimes it displays in detail mode, others the rows are in another order or have additional columns I don't need, others are not even in detail mode but in preview thumbnails mode. This is insane. If it's not clear what im talking about:

Im using Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC. Please let me know how to set this up. When I click on a window and it has some random layout and I have to change the setting to something else it's such an insane waste of time. Each time you open a window you don't know what layout it's going to have. Someone please find how to solve this madness.

  3. I used to use archive.is to archive tweets but since Elon Musk bought the site it seems, something changed and the tweets are no longer being archived. Is there any way to do this? It's essential to archive tweets because many important ones are deleted and a screenshot doesn't cut it for obvious reasons.

  4. All these big companies think they can put anything on their ToS. It's like how YouTube abuses their monopoly power to milk creator's traffic and reserve the right to kick them out of the platform at any time, don't give them their income etc, WHILE they keep milking the same traffic they claim it isn't fit to put ads in. It's all a big joke.

Maybe not in the land of the free, but elsewhere eventually we will see this stopped with the right case.

Ai is dumb and the stock market and wallstreets are caught up in this ai hype train. Have you seen the number of ai startups popping up everywhere? Heck, I work for one of them. Even companies that have nothing to do with technology would randomly slap on an openai chat bot just so they could call themselves an "ai startup" and every ventured capitalists and investors would throw money at them. It is like the dotcom bubbles when just adding ".com" to your company name would triple your company valuation. Holy crap.

I am short selling nvidia in my paper trading account for the fun of it btw and I bet the american S&P and the overall stock market is gonna have negative returns over next decade simply because of how much these ai companies/ai companies related stocks have been pump up to a valuation beyond what's rationale and sane.

Betting against the trend seems risky but good luck.

Im just hoping it gets good enough that I can automate my captions accurately.

  6. Finally wanted to make some use of AI to save time. I wanted the captions to show up automatically and highlight the word that is being spoken by coloring it and making it bigger for like a karaoke style lyrics video. I used Capcut. Result: Many words missing, and the spoken word is sometimes not in sync and highlights 3 or 4 words at once. This really sucks. I've been trying to find alternative but none has the template that I need. This Capcut thing doesn't even let you fine tune the captions so you are stuck with what it finds. AI sucks so far here.

To do something like that would require some degree of human input, you couldn't just dump the clips in and expect AI to do it - not a free AI, that is. I'm sure there is some $39.99/month subscription based AI video editor that'd do it...

I have downloaded capcut for the captions, it failed to detect the lyrics on one song, on the other half of them were missing. The automatic highlighting of the word being spoken is also not very accurate and I don't see a way to manually tweak it. I've also seen that capcut may be chinese spyware so I need an alternative.

  8. Im looking for a software that will load a video file, and then morph it into an anime or whatever filter you select. What would be the best for this? I have only seen generative stuff, but I want to modify existing video from a movie, and make it into an anime. The ones i've seen only allow a tiny amount of footage, like for gifs. There has to be one that actually does this properly. Anyone knows?

(As in, the feature is free IIRC.)

I have found an example video that has the transitions im looking for just to get the idea.

You know these transitions that go from side to side and it's always in some movement and it goes with the beat. So the idea would be. You get a serious of different footages on a consistent theme (in this case, footage of the xQc dude from different videos) and then the AI makes a video automatically, putting the different cuts together with the transitions and get the lyrics in there. Is this too much to ask for AI? Im not sure if that was generated with AI, I think it refers to the voice, but im not sure if the video was automated or manually edited the old school way.

Nice. Classic Windows move, taking away features people use.

Davinci Resolve and Clipchamp are free. Clipchamp would probably be the easiest to get into.

Yeah but my point is, these have paid plans, so a lot of stuff is often blocked unless you pay.

As in just an automatic video editor that you feed clips and it makes a video for you?
Basically every video editor has been able to do this for many years. iMovie and Windows' built-in video editor can do it, Microsoft Clipchamp can do it, hell, Windows Movie Maker can do this. Movavi and VideoPad are two paid options I've used.

For subtitles, there are subtitling softwares and plugins. PowerDirector is a classic, Davinci Resolve has this feature too, and Kapwing actually has """AI""" subtitling.

BTW none of these features require AI. Half of the things branded "AI" are just an existing algorithm with a new bow on top to play into the current hot trend.

Could you plz answer if you can do this for free with these softwares (which ones) or you need to buy them in order to access these features?

I was also looking at Clipchamp and looks like they removed the video editor

Why would they do that? wtf

Basically I would like that the captions are automatically generated but also highlight the word that is being said by having a different color and bigger size.

The video would be just the cuts of different raw sources, then have it whatever parts are considered interesting and cut them and put them together with transitions.

  13. Does anyone know a video editor that will do the following?
    1) Be able to feed it footage from different video files and add some cuts and transitions and put together a 3 minute video

    2) Automatically detect subtitles and add them for sing along lyrics type video

If anyone knows a software that can do this please let me know. I know AI is doing some crazy thing nowadays so I think this should be possible. Much appreciated.

  14. I use this a lot:

    quick-access.png

I have a list of folders there, but I want to change the names there, not the names of the actual folders for compatibility reasons. Just like changing the name of a direct access. For some insane reason it seems you can't? its driving me nuts because I have many folders with the name same.

Something more high end but that's the idea. I basically need to plug my monitors and a magni 3 for headphones. I have an eventide h9000 from someone that's in a band but not using it right now, I only make electronic music so I wouldn't need any instruments, just that for effects, I haven't used it yet. So that's the 3 things I would be plugin.

Also let's consider drivers, they must work nicely and have low input on the DAWs. I was even considering an RME UCX II but im not sure since it only has one knob. Im assuming it has an internal memory and saves the volumes for the different pairs of ins/outs and you could trust that to not screw up your ears when you switch between them by changing to volume to very loud all of a sudden. Im paranoid with these things which is why I like to have separate knobs but I don't like anything bigger than these small boxes, I don't want a mixer and so on.

24" is nitch market now and it is towards for value market, OLED is high end product, I doubt it is big enough market needs for investment in 24" or smaller.

27" is the sweet spot and most common use screen size now.

32" and above might be too big for some but it never suck on gaming.

You should explore more with yourself personally experience it instead of trust certain esport user opinion only. Don't limit yourself and open up exploration.

I have conluded myself that 24" inch is a sweet spot, in fact i play with corners around the screen when playing QL because I never felt comfortable with such a big screen after I moved from 19" CRT to 24". Of course for other games it's ok, but any bigger than that I don't see it, perhaps 27" but that's about it.

24" is a dead market except for budget monitors and esports imo. For the low volume an esports Zowie monitor is gonna move, i don't think LG will even bother to produce such a panel. And for mainstream consumers 27" is the current top dog and it's only gonna get bigger over the years.

Bigger than 27 is just nonsense for a lot of people. I don't see how it's convenient to have monitors bigger than that for most desktop use cases.

  18. Since for some reason big brands are too dumb to realize competitive gaming sucks with monitors bigger than this, and Zowie clearly understands this market, im hoping they are the ones that finally release an OLED with these sizes and with gaming in mind. Im saving my money until then and stayin with TN panels because fast IPS still suck, so I don't want to invest there, so i'll deal with the shitty darks and hope there's something viable in a couple of years, which will also be useful since we'll see how these new 27" LG's are doing.
