  1. Try plugging into HDMI outlet on you mobo OP
  2. We can keep guessing and throwing parts at it, or try to see if Windows can tell us the underlying cause. START Search>>Event Viewer>Custom Views>Administrative Events Try to pinpoint error that corresponds with shut down. Since it's a critical error it will likely have red warning sign on the left.
  3. Sure doesn't sound like inductor, they like to chirp which sometime passes with time, sometime it doesn't. It sounds more metal sheet shaking or rubbing against another piece of metal. Make sure there is no loose components in case , all fans and HDDs secured.
  4. Only reliable way of testing this is borrowing a power supply from a different unit.
  5. Might be a silly question, but have you plugged in CPU power source in top left corner of mobo? I know I often forget about it despite building many systems
  6. Only Miele. Everything else is a meme, Dyson especially. Have a 7 years old S4212 from Costco and even though this is their entry model assemled in China (now they are making their entry level models in Germany again) I have got from my parents when I was moving out, still going strong and quiet. I have a cat and vacuum everyday and I beat the shit out of my vacuums, I vacuum everything, don't care. Before I inherited it, my mom was using it to vacuum a 3000 sq ft house with a kitty, also every day.
  7. D15 is also 2x the size of my Phanteks But thanks for reply, D15 is a fantastic cooler.
  8. This is an older laptop and I am assuming it's not under warranty anymore? If you send it to ASUS they will likely charge an arm and leg to fix it. If you're comfortable with repairs I would open it up and asses the damage. It is likely that due to some bending or breakage the CPU contact point of the cooling system is not pressing as tightly against the CPU as it should is my guess. With the right amount of delicate force you can rebend everything back to shape, unless there is cracking around mounting holes in mobo/case.
  9. I would not hold back unless there would be something new literally right around the corner. With the way the GPU market currently is and new generation of RTX most likely even more costly, I would not hope for huge savings on previous gen after they come out, especially on entry level offerings such as 1650. If you have the money to buy one, do so now and enjoy!
  10. I have recently upgraded to 3600X, after being an Intel man my whole life. I have swapped the stock cooler to Corsair H100i v2 but found it to be a pile of rubbish, inadequate for cooling this CPU due to it's constant temperature jumping. I found the pump to be just tiny bit too loud in idle and unacceptably loud at max speed and when speeding up. Add inadequate (pathetic) control options and rather unimpressive temperatures IMO I have have dusted off my old Phanteks TC12DX and have installed a single PWM brushless Corsair fan, and adjusted fan curve accordingly to achieve maximum silence. In idle fan operates at 700RPM being completely inaudible as opposed to pump that cannot be properly set through Fan Xpert and same with the fans if they are controlled by pump as set forth in set up manual for the H100i v2. Right now with the Phanteks setup idle temperatures are oscillating at 34-45 degree Celsius, predominantly staying under 41. Stress testing for max heat with Prime 95 yields temperatures of 85-87 degree Celcius. Thermal compound used is MX-4 Wondering if someone has similar setup with mid size cooling tower and could post their temp. observations for comparing. Thanks!
  11. Hello lads and ladies, newbie here finally decided to register after procrastinating for a very long time. Been tinkering with computers ever since I got my first one, which I still remember vivdly haha Celeron 1.7GHz, 256MB RAM and GeForce 4MX with 64MB VRAM coupled with massive 60GB WD Caviar HDD Look forward to learn as well as share my knowledge with other users. Cheers!
