Thanks for insight. Its hasn't happened to me again for awhile but this makes sense since a clean windows install fixed this, essentially nuking all dead pathways. If it happens again i will have to see what dead pathways i have

Thats exactly why i got ICue go figure Glad it worked!

Any other RGB software installed? I had a similar problem and found Corsair's ICue didn't jive with the aura sync and the lights would turn off. I simply turned off ICue and prevented it from running on start up and problem solved

So i'm either dumb or blind but i do not see where to completely disable ReLive nor does googling seem to be helpful

Been noticing some high CPU idle temps, when going into control panel i notice "Radeon Software: Host Application" utilizing 10-15% of my CPU causing idle temps to hover around 50c (Monitored both in Ryzen Master and CPUID HWMonitor). This is more of an annoyance than a dire situation, but seeing how my normal idle temps were around 36c i would rather not have my CPU experiencing high temps for no reason. Currently running latest AMD Radeon drivers, ver. 20.11.2 I have tried the optional drivers and two sets of previous drivers where this issue was not present to no avail. There is an old fix i found involving creating a Radeon Relive folder in This PC>Videos. Said folder already existed but i tried deleting and remaking a few times, still no change. Finally i tried DDU and doing a fresh install of latest drivers, and again still no change. I would like to add that I recently updated my chipset drivers as well but am unsure if this issue existed before or after doing that and seeing as how this problem is being caused by seemingly the Radeon software i didn't want to mess with anything there until i was sure. i was a dummy and bought a case without a side window and now regret it. So now i keep checking fractal's site to see if they have the window panel in stock. Says it should be in next week so here is hoping i can snatch one.

Didn't wanna waste space in trouble shooting since my problem is solved but i thought i would share the story anyway. Here seemed a good a place as any. So i bought a new WLAN card for my PC because reasons. after installing, no post (Que dramatic music), VGA error light is on on MoBo, immediately start checking cables and re-seating card, no change. Begin to get frustrated, all of sudden system posts but a hard drive (not my boot drive) isn't showing, start checking those cables, system not posting again with same VGA error light. After fooling around with GPU some more to no avail I unplugged the misbehaving HDD for laughs and system posts and runs fine. So i have dead HDD now. How in the heck does a system not post with a dead SECONDARY hard drive and manage to put out an error code for the graphics card. I'm of course happy its not my graphics card, that would suck, but still, a hard drive?

Just curious on how you determined the boards were DOA. It's certainly not impossible that two in a row would be bad and I'm sure you and your friend didn't make a mistake, I'm just genuinely curious since i have the same board and it worked fine. And if it truly is dead then either gamble a third time or try getting a different board not a whole lot you could do there i think.

Gotta say, those things would make for quite an impressive part of my set up. thank you for the recommendations

This will be for my everyday use PC so it'll primarily be doing game audio. As far as music goes I listen to just about all but country a lot of hard/punk rock and EDM lately though. I'm unsure of even a budget but for the sake of a number maybe around $250? (USD) My experience in audio has only ever been some car audio, home audio is something i'm just now getting into so i apologize if i don't have a lot of information to go on.
