  1. i think an recommendation on an alternes would need to be based on your budget or are willing to spend on a monitor.
  2. you say retails for $1500 new. does this mean you bought it used or open box from a store?
  3. if it looks flimsy then there is a better than average change that it is, or that is the 1st impression people get from seeing something for the first time. doesnt really want to make you buy the product if its just going to fall over because it can not actually support what it says it can. now i said this because if you look at the pieces that are supposed to support the TV, it does in fact look weak with how small the brackets are, the single thin looking rod to support the entire TV. the plastic looking swivel points so it can turn, it all just looks weak to me. if its not then great, all i am asking for in this topic is for people to mention or reccomend a company that makes TV stands so i can do my own research on them so see what works for me and what i like.
  4. i said with my limited knowledge. but if you look at places selling the cables i linked, the dragon 48/eARC cables are over $2500 each.
  5. from my limited knowledge. all cables are the same, the "this cable is better than that one" is just marketing to get you to by their cables. HDMI Cables · AudioQuest
  6. you are looking for a 27" monitor that is 1440p. what is your budget for this? and yes a higher refresh rates makes a difference in gaming. the higher the refresh rate the quicker your reaction time to sertain things can be. someone playing on a 6ohz display against someone on a 240hz will be 1/4 slower than the person with the 240hz monitor.
  7. well i know its all metal with just the "wood" parts being painted up to look like wood but it just loos so flimsy to me even in the video. i am looking for a table top swivel stand though so i will look into it more. and i know you are biased on it, you kind of have to be, and i understand that. its just i want what is best for me as everyone does. returning things that you find out too late dont work are a pain to deal with. edit. i think linus helped you test out the weight limit of your products in this video posted in the 1st reply to this topic. 8. how can this be considered premium? https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Tabletop-Television-600x400-STAND-TV07A/dp/B0B7CRRFZ3 it doesnt look like it can hold itself up let alone a 40+ pound TV on top of it. and i am looking for table top. the stand has to sit on top of my dresser which has a big vanity mirror behind it. the other options is kind of what i was looking for. not "well i dont like any of these what else you got?" but i wanted to know which companies you have heard of, used, or know about so i could do my own research on them to see if they would work for me. the companies i have here are mainly Sanus and ONN (walmart). on amazon i have seen several for perlegear which is a UK based company and greenstell which is a chinese company.
  9. well i am wondering what comanies make TV stands that people know and trust to be a good stand. the TV i am looking at is a LG G3 55" and it doesnt come with a TV stand. comes with the slim wall mount installed but i can not use a wall mount where its going to be so i need a stand.
  10. well for a TV you are pretty much going to be limited to 60 or 120hz. a PC monitor can go higher like 144, 240+ but that 32 is about as big as you are going to get and still have a decent picture. there are much bigger monitors but they are wides and ultrawides like 49" making a 5220x1440 for example. not really good for watching TV. the monitor will also not have a remote (or at least most dont) so you will have to manually change everything you want to do. and most TVs and monitors come with a stand for them to sit on but you would need to but the wall mount. if you are looking for a TV, i would go with an OLED as its made for darker rooms so the picture will be brighter and you can turn it down, you can not turn up the brightness past its max. basically from this site you have 3 choices for a monitor. 120Hz 50-Inch TVs - Best Buy
  11. well like i said, it was a rumor i heard by some guy who looked to be in his 60s so i dont know if i believe him or not.
  12. i have no opinion on it. i am using a 42" TV as mine. but its from the same company. i guess you would need to say what your budget is.

  14. i think this belongs here but not sure as it falls under a few topics. what i am looking for is a company that makes a TV stand with a good reputation. the stand needs to be tabletop or whatever you want to call the standard TV with feet as i can not do wall mounting and the TV sits on my dresser. basically the only info i think you would need is to know i am looking to buy a 55" TV and the TV i want doesnt come with a stand, i would have to buy one which is no problem as most people have to buy a wall mount when they want to mount the TV on the wall, this is just reversed. i know of a few companies like Sanus, perlegear, greenstell and onn (walmart), but i would like to know what other companies people have heard of, what they think about them and what reviews these companies have so i can decide for myself what to get. thanks to everyone who reads my rambling.
  15. well this depends on the "what am i looking for?" that you need to ask yourself or since you posted it here, tell us. what i mean is we need to know what you want. a PC monitor should allow you to watch TV in your room but you will or will probably be limited to 2 HDMI ports and maybe a display port but the refresh rate is or could be higher. a TV can have more than 2 HDMI ports but is mostly limited to 60 or 120hz. what we need to know is how many do you want? i am thinking 1. how many devices do you want plugged in at 1 time? (not really important at all but beats having to switch with more ports) what is the budget? how much space do you have for it? how big are you wanting? what resolution are you looking for?
  16. reading all of these comments, everyone has their own opinion so here is mine. i have been looking for a new 55" TV myself and so far i have found that the LG G3 series is the best overall. 120hz, OLED evo, 4k. bluetooth 5.0, etc. etc.. every single TV i have seen is either 60hz or 120 none of them were ever above 120hz. your best bet for over 120hz is a large computer monitor like these CORSAIR XENEON 32UHD144-A 32-Inch IPS UHD (3840 x2160), 144Hz Refresh Rate, HDR600 Gaming Monitor CORSAIR XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240 45-Inch OLED (3440 x1440), 240Hz Refresh Rate, Bendable Gaming Monitor the downside is these are under the 55" you want. if you have a PS5, i hear that the sony TVs have technology suited for the PS5. you say TV, PS5 and movies so i am guessing at least 3 devices so i would look for a TV that has 4 HDMI ports.
  17. i am thinking that there are not really any 8k Tvs or monitors that would be useful to you as the ones that you probably need are 65" or bigger and they dont really make them smaller than 65" right now. most are QLED or QNED (same things just different company name) and these are for brighter rooms like your living room or office so they can only get so bright. the OLED 8k monitors are what you would need in my opinion and they will cost over $5k or at least in my area they do.
  18. it was moved already automatically by a mod of the site.
  19. well i can try. what are you having issues understanding?
  20. while shopping for the new TV yesterday. i heard that you dont want to have the tv on for extended periods of time on 1 thing. like the local news. if you were and then changed to something else, you would still see that local news symbol wherever it is on your station. now i dont believe this is true because the man who said it was like in his 60s but also technology has gotten better from when he had that issue and it might have just been a rumor he heard.
  21. the company greenstell is a chinese company with the company contact being in Beijing. perlegear is a UK company. the ones here are called Sanus and they seem to be decent. from simple stands to fiull motion wall mounts. there are ones like these two so you dont have to worry about tilting. 22. well you can actually just plug in 2 or more monitors and have the screen be duplicated or extended based on settings as your PC comes out of the box. 2 32" montiors would be 64" across if you were to measure diagonoly like you do with TVs from bottom of one corner to top of the opposite side like bottom left to top right. so it would be a lot of screen and with that, it would basically become and ultrawide monitor so you are using these for work and not gaming?
  23. do you have a budget for the stand? you can always search amazon Amazon.com : tv stand
