  1. After looking in the product page on the MSI website that seems to be the case. I haven't had many instances of games automatically selecting 4K though, maybe because I've set 1440p as the native in the Windows settings.
  2. So I recently bought the MSI Optix MAG274QRF (A 1440p monitor), and it's been a great experience/upgrade over my 1080p TN panel. But I have found that I am able to choose UHD resolutions in Windows (Nvidia Settings) and in games. Just wondering why this is the case as I am unable to choose 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) as a factor for Nvidia DSR, but only factors above 4K? My main concern is if I start using 4K for games without DSR will issues arise?
  3. That's a you problem I'm afraid, Valorant is really well optimized. Mind you I haven't played lately, so if others with similar specs are having problems, feel free to prove me wrong.
  4. That's about what I thought, I'll keep this thread updated If I run into the issue again.
  5. That's what I thought, but I updated it a few days ago as soon as it came out and also went through multiple cold boots.
  6. So I just had a pretty big scare with my fairly new 3070; global artficacting (Windows itself) and games crashing on startup. So I quickly manually downloaded the newest driver as well as DDU, and went through the process of fully reinstalling the driver, and it worked - not getting any more artifacts or games crashing. I'm sorta weirded out as before this happened, I installed the newest nVidia driver which came out a few days ago and also did multiple cold boots (I shutdown my PC after the end of each day), and I didn't apply any overclocks. So I ultimately find it strange that the the display driver managed to just conk out, is there any explanation as to why? I'm just not trying to be joyful, as of course it could happen again and it could be a hardware issue after all.
  7. The reg file fixed it, thanks again! What exactly is multipane overlay though?
  8. Thanks heaps, surprised this hasn't come up in my searches. I'll see if the workaround fixes it.
  9. So this has been happening since I got my new PC built (Ryzen 5 5600X & Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming OC) and has finally got on my nerves. Basically whenever I have a game opened with borderless windowed enabled (doesn't happen with fullscreen) I will get flickering on any type of web browser (Edge, Firefox and Chrome) every few seconds, it is sort of random, but usually happens with inputs. Non-surprisingly disabling hardware acceleration in the browser 'fixes' the issue, but I'm not taking that as a fix since it's quite an important feature for websites like Twitch. I've had no problems or any sorts in the games themselves (no artifacts, flickering etc) so I really don't think it's the GPU itself. I found a reddit thread with what looks to be the same issue so I don't think I am alone.
  10. Title pretty much say's it all, i'm wondering if the difference in compatibility and also performance is negligible between the two G.Skill Ripjaws 2x16GB (3600MHz CL16) kits (B-die or Hynix, and more specifically F4-3600C16D-16GVK and F4-3600C16D-16GVKC). The B-die kit costs AUD $50 more than the Hynix kit where i'm looking and i'm more so concerned about compatibility as i'm using the build for gaming and the Hynix kit is not listed in the QVL list (whereas the B-die is) for the Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro board which i'm about to buy alongside the Ryzen 5 5600X and the rest of my build. Thanks in advance for the help. Edit: After entering the motherboard details into the G.Skill Configurator it outputs that the Hynix kit is compatible but on the other hand, the B-die kit is nowhere to be found. So i'm guessing I shouldn't be worrying too much and the Hynix kit will work perfectly fine?
  11. This looks pretty normal to me, but I haven't played Forza Horizon 4. Additionally, as said above, those are shadows, not reflections.
  12. Hello, So I've just about finished the parts list for my second build (I am giving my current one away to my brother) and am ready to buy soon, but I wanted to come to you beautiful people for the last stage, to gather some feedback/improvements. Some things to note - This PC is basically going to be heavily used for gaming, with some animation and 3D work likely some time in the future. I'm aiming for 1440p/60+ FPS, with titles like CP2077 (RTX enabled), Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Hunt: Showdown, Rainbow 6: Siege etc. My budget is what you roughly see here (around $2400 AUD). Ultimately my first build went pretty well but I remember having some slight compatibility issues, which is why I have decided to come here, for peace of mind. I already have the CPU cooler (Cryorig H7), another SSD and all my peripherals, so I'm already fine on all those. Thanks for the help in advance!
