  1. Check your C drive for a folder with weird characters and symbols. This is the folder that tool uses to download it's content and it sometimes gives you that error when you either force close it or if it crashed. Delete that folder and try running it again. I forgot what the name of the folder it, but you will notice it doesn't have a "proper name" like the ones usually on your C drive. (its something like %wtdownload or whatever it says) EDIT: The folder name is $Windows.~BT or $Windows.~WS. Had to run the tool again on a laptop just to check it out. Hope this helps.
  2. You can check on your card's manufacturer site. For example I read that GTX 700 series (some of them) had partial support for DX 12. Still what game would benefit from DX 12 from a GT 730 card?
  3. Exactly, and his card would only have "partial" Dx 12 support anyways.
  4. DX 12 is not even rolled out yet, right? Why does it matter if it says 11 o 12?
  5. I Had the same problem yesterday. The thing is that you won't get the "Upgrade" on the Windows Update panel itself. Rather there is a separate app that is installed to your PC via a windows update called "Get Windows 10" (forgot the update number... I think its KB3035583). What I did was grabbed the Media Creation Tool from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 And I clicked on the Upgrade PC option. Works the same say the reserve app does. At least it worked for me fine.
  6. I got this problem were some of my icons are not properly showing at all. The weird part is that if I look for that app on the "All Apps" section, it does have a proper icon. Has anyone has this problem? It's kinda getting annoying not being able to see which app I'm clicking on without waiting for the tooltip popup. I wish there was an update for ObblyTile for Windows 10 so I can customize my tiles rather than having Windows do this for me.
  7. I've been using Windows 10 since January and I noticed that Windows Update is having fun updating device drivers on it's own, due to the fact that Windows will do automatic updates. This feature is annoying if you like to keep certain old driver due to glitches or issues on newer ones. (Example: Nvidia driver 353.54 which was horrible) This may also conflict with other programs that do give you driver updates like GE Force Experience. Found a way to fix this, however I find this to be a temporary solution since it may give you a bit of headaches if you change hardware on your PC later on. Step 1: Do a Search on your start menu (or Cortana) for "Devices and Printers" and go there. Step 2: Locate your PC on the device list and Right Click it. Select the "Device Installation Settings" option. Step 3: Select "No, let me choose what to do" and then pick the "Never install driver software using Windows Update" option and click on Save. Done. This will disable Windows update from installing any new drivers that may come out and mess your computer. I consider this only a temporary fix, because if you decide to add new hardware to your PC later (sound cards, raid cards, etc...) Windows will not be able to find a generic driver since you disabled it. In this case you might want to re-enable this feature while you install the new device or just manually install drivers from the device manufacturers web page. So far I've managed to avoid Windows Update from installing new NVidia drivers and let GeForce Experience handle graphic drivers like always. Hope this helps if you had any driver issues with Windows Updates.
  8. My install has been running OK.... with a minor bug here and there. So far the only app that crashes no matter what I do is the Photo app. Another annoying bug is that the icon scaling goes nuts every time I do a cold boot. Icons turn huge on the desktop for some reason, but if I do a quick sign out and sign in, they go back to normal for whatever reason. So far my only major complaint is that Windows update forces auto updates for your display driver.... even if you have CCC or GEForce installed. So if the latest driver is giving you issues for whatever reason, Window downloads and install it anyways giving you no control on what GPU driver you have installed. You could opt out of auto updates if you have Win Pro installed, but it doesn't allow you to select which update you don't want to install so you'll miss important/security updates. I find this to be the mayor flaw of Windows 10 and I hope Microsoft fixes this or at least give us an option to not auto update System Drivers via Windows Update or something.
  9. Oddly enough when I uninstalled the 353.34, GeForce said that there were no drivers for my PC. If I delete GeForce and reinstall it, then it shows me 353.30. @Sam Z Man My Windows 10 says Pro and also gives me the option to not update. But it still changes my driver back to 353.34 when I boot my PC. Tried looking for it under "Features" like windows patches or updates and it's not there. It's like it downloaded it on my PC and it's auto installing it every time it can.
  10. Has anyone have this issue on their Windows 10 installations? Windows update is force installing Nvidia Driver updates and it's messing up whatever version I installed using GE Force Experience. Today Windows decided to install a driver update because apparently Nvidia released a new driver or whatever (353.34). Now I'm getting this weird issue where I get random flickering or artifacting on the desktop or while using a browser. I went and uninstalled the new driver and re-installed the old one I had (353.30) which was working OK and I had no issues. Now every time I restart my PC, Windows decides to install the new one because of whatever reason.... and now I'm stuck using the buggy drivers. Has any one figured out how to make Windows NOT auto update my display driver?
  11. That's lame.... especially if you take in account that those boards are like $200 and they boast about having good inboard audio. I have the USB card that came with my Siberia V2's but I wish I could fix this instead of relying on an extra sound board.
  12. I'm having this annoying issue were my mic volume is too low no matter what I do. I downloaded the audio drivers for my audio card, I have changed the volume levels of both front and back mic ports, I have fiddled with the Volume/Mic boost settings and it is still too low. If I crank the mic boost to +30db I can barely hear my voice but it has a loud hiss on the background. The audio meter on the Windows sound manager shows only 1 green bar if I talk with my mic almost on my mouth. I opened up my RealTek Audio Manager thing and changed the Noise Gate and Noise Reduction slider but it doesn't seem to fix the issue. While Noise reduction seems to "help", it greatly distorts the audio. This is the hardware I have right now setup. Don't know why this is happening since everything worked fine until I re-installed Windows. I'll be glad if someone can help me fix this issue. Thank you - MotherBoard: Asus Maximus Impact VI - Audio Drivers: Realtek 6.0.1.7218 - Headset: Steelseries Siberia V2 - Windows 7 Pro Mic tested on Skype, Teamspeak, OBS and Audacity.
  13. My 128 MB Lexar JumpDrive . Bought it for $30 on Wal-Mart back at 2004~2005.... I think. It was my daily driver usb storage when I started first year in college. I also remember that in campus they had these "$1 vending machines" that sold you blank Floppy Diskettes... WTF!!
  14. Yay Intel 6 core cpu!! If I win, i'll make a full fledged balls to the walls gaming pc.... to play minecraft on.
