  • Biography
I'm a PhD student working in the fields of reinforcement learning and traffic control. PCs are one of my hobbies and I've built many PCs and performed upgrades on a few laptops (for myself, friends and family). My personal computers include: my main desktop, which dual boots Windows 10 and Linux Mint; my TrueNAS desktop which I use as a plex media server, private VPN service, and file server; my secondary desktop, which I use for minecraft servers, ark servers, and running reinforcement learning experiments; and my ASUS ROG Flow Z13 GZ301ZE-LD220W.

  1. Also, please I’m praying to the BOINC gods for a GPU workload in the last event.
  2. Crazy (and probably worthless) plan that’s just come to mind at 1AM: Could I fold and/or Boinc on my NAS (runs TrueNAS Core) by setting up a Windows (or Linux) VM? I have no real experience with VMs and really just want to know what problems I’ll face and what performance I’m likely to get. NAS uses a 5600G and a 2060.
  3. Still, I'm tempted to leave my main on City Run, but move my Secondary and Laptop to Marathon for a bit
  4. SETI.Germany have slowed right down again and 3rd in city run is only worth it if we can hold 5th in marathon (imo). Maybe we should switch some compute over to Marathon for a bit.
  5. Woah man, I never said anyone was stupid. I said I don't think the audiance is particulary interested in a 20 minute in depth video about digital signage. Your correct nobody games on a $4500 billboard... but lots of people have $200 to $700 for an ultra wide monitor or multiple monitors and may want to game at (slightly more sensiable but still) similarily problematic aspect ratios. Those people (and myself) found this video very useful. Your also correct that no one expects a PRO/Business Bill Board to game properly. However, as I said above, lots of people have an ultra wide monitor or multiple monitors and may want to game at (slightly more sensiable but still) similarily problematic aspect ratios. Those people (and myself) found this video very useful. Because of this I think this was a pretty decent video. Also, again, please reduce the underlining, bold sections and CAPITALISTAION. It really does make it difficult for me to read what your writing (my Dsylexia is quite bad).
  6. IMO you focused on the wrong parts of this video. To me the video was about game design and support for ultra wide or multi monitor setups. From what I could tell the ultra wide monitor was only used because it is uniquely able to demostrate the problem at its absolute worst. Because of this I'd agrue it actually contained a wealth of useful information for those of us who do own ultrawide monitors or use multiple monitors. Also, I think a video talking about a digital signage screen and software for that purpose in depth would likely be very dull and useless to the majority of the audiance. Also Also, (the following is intended as friendly advice) the constant underlining, bold sections and CAPITALISTAION in your messages make it very hard to read. Please consider using less of it to help those of us with Dsylexia.
  7. It is official, we've climbed to 3rd place in the City Run
  8. @leadeater Are we staying with City Run, or should we be starting up Javelin Throw?
  9. Unfortuantly, I don't have any and can't advise you on an alternative, however I do recommend doing your research about which companies have taken user's data privacy seriously.
  10. Eufy don't take customer security seriously and have previously lied about it. I'd avoid if I were you. (Return them if you can) Video's by Paul Moore: https://youtu.be/qOjiCbxP5Lc https://youtu.be/etpbq_HH79c
  11. Do we know when the obstacle days will be for the Steeplechase?
