  1. Considering the 20xx super series was already more or less a refresh, I would be disappointed if they don't give us some good breadcrumbs at GTC. And after all, even if 3060 is a 400$ refreshed 2070 super, I can just get a 2070 super then for 1/2 price I guess. I don't know, it seems that most speculations aim at Ampere gpu. And if that fails, there is always a chance that the AMD's promised "Nvidia killer" will come soon. I guess we all play the wait game.
  2. Not really, I just thought it would be a good time to upgrade my 4y old gaming laptop, so I can probably wait a bit more if 3000 series is expected to be a good upgrade.
  3. The last time I built myself a PC, I got a 9600gt (yes it was long ago). A month or so later the waaaaay better GTX cards came out. Now I am building myself a PC again, and was looking at 2070 super. The question is: do I go for it, or should I wait for 3000 series which is promised to be a way better price/performance card in like 6 months.
  4. My local prices are: Asus TUF Pro - 100 eur MSI A-pro - 98 eur MSI Tomahawk - 120 eur However, regarding cooling VRM etc, both MSI are a class above Asus on "tier list" .. not sure how much effect that has in real life for light OC.
  5. Hello all, I am in progress of building myself a new gaming PC with 3600 and RTX 2070S, with possibly light overclock. I was planning to use ASUS TUF B450-PRO GAMING because MSI was out of stock locally and people said it's a decend mobo. However, now it seems MSI is back in stock so I want to ask: is MSI B450 Tomahawk really worth the 20% higher price? I am already over my initial budget. And how about the other MSI boards like Mortar, or even A-pro max (which is actually cheaper than Asus)
  6. I have tested GPU via external monitor and it is fine. Running the laptop without bezels on had no difference, but I still suspect the cable could be the issue, maybe at bends. I did check cable at both ends. I believe I will follow @Founders advice and replace the cable first and check if that helps.
  7. Hello, I need some help with Asus F556U. It always starts normal, but after like 15 - 30s of use, the screen goes black. To get it back to working, I either have to move the screen angle, or push on the screen bazzle somewhere. Then it might die again, lasts from 15s up to 30min or sth. I have already took it apart, the cable seems fine, all connectors look ok aswell. I even managed to move the cable when I had picture with no issues. Considering this I doubt the cable is bad. Is there anything I can try before I order a new screen? Thank you.
  8. motherboard is best I can get in price range, Msi boards cost premium locally. will look for a different drive tho, or maybe consider a future upgrade. Thank you all for answers
  9. I want to build a PC mostly for 1080p 144hz gaming that should last about 5 years. This is what I was thinking about: MB: ASUS TUF B450-PRO GAMING, AM4 ATX CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Wraith Stealth cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports Duo CPU RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo Series, DDR4-3600, CL16 16GB GPU: GIGABYTE RTX 2070 SUPER WINDFORCE OC 8GB PSU: BE QUIET! Pure Power 11 CM 500W 80Plus Gold ATX SSD: CRUCIAL MX500 1TB M.2 80mm 2280 SATA3 3DTLC Case: PHANTEKS Eclipse P350X RGB (2x140mm front + 1x120mm rear fans) With local prices, this all comes to about 1350eur which is a bit out of my innitial 1200eur budget, however I can take the hit if the build is ok. Or should I swap something?
  10. anything 4000mhz is way out of my budget, and so is anything under CL15 .. however I did manage to find G.Skill Trident Z Neo Series 3600 CL16, this should be a sweet spot if I understand correctly?
  11. I would add 2 140mm front fans and move stock 120mm to back. Hopefully this will be enough.
  12. I am building a new rig with Ryzen 5 3600 and was looking for best ram, however G.Skill KIT Ripjaws V 3600mhz CL16 has sold out completely in my area. I now have two options: G.Skill KIT Ripjaws V 3400 CL16 G.Skill KIT Ripjaws V 3600 CL18 What would be better (or easier - never overclocked ram before), OC the 3400mhz -> 3600mhz or tigthen timings on CL18. Should I even bother doing either? Thank you in advance.
  13. Hello all, I am looking for a budget case with nice front looks, and found PHANTEKS Eclipse P350X. One of few cases that would fit my 157mm cpu cooler in the price range. However, I've seen many people saying that airflow is bad, especially with bad fan placement. Would it really be that bad with 2x140mm front + 120mm back exhaust? Thank you.
