  1. Hello, My grandma's Samsung Galaxy A41 got soft bricked (loops boot sequence). The phone is worthless BUT ofc all her photos from last xy years are on that. I can get it to recovery mode but not sure what to do from there other than factory reset (which deletes the photos anyway so pointless). How would one approach this, I don't know much about phones really. Any help is welcome. Thank you.
  2. Yes, I am currently using the cable with a different old laptop with no issues.
  3. Hello! I got a brand new Lenovo Thinkpad L15 (12th gen i5) and my HDMI does not work. When I plug a hdmi display, it detects the external display (but external display remains black) then after like 15 seconds it states there is no external display. Then it detects it again, and the cycle repeats. External display works fine via USB C dock at the office, this only happens at home with my hdmi display. I have updated drivers, did a clean install, and I'm out of ideas.
  4. Hello there! I am currently using a single 2TB HDD as my main storage in my personal PC. After a random hiccup (half of folders became corrupted but later fixed itself) I decided to get a 2nd 2TB disk as a HDD failure mechanism. Since the first disk has plenty of data, I don't wanna go through the hassle of copying all data and configuring Raid 1. In this case, what would be the easiest way to clone/copy/backup first disk to the new one. Data is pretty static so maybe a weekly job would suffice. Any advice is welcome. Thank you! p.s. this is for HDD failure only, I do have cloud backup for all critical stuff!
  5. Thank you both but I am aiming specifically at disk failure. All my critical data is backed-up, but I still don't want to go through the hassle of a dead drive cause all non-critical data will take ages to reacquire. Thank you nontheless.
  6. Ok got it, I guess I'll get an external disk and duplicate all data there then configure raid and duplicate back. Should be doable. Thank you for info!
  7. Hello, I've had some issues with my data drive (2 TB HDD) and it got me thinking: I have no real protection for drive failure. So, the question is: how would I go about adding a drive, making it Raid 1? Do I just add drives in Raid and it will automatically copy current data to new disk? Will it format the disk? How would I do this? I have MSI A-pro B550 motherboard and would just use the built in SATA raid controller. Also, fyi I don't know much about raid (never done it before).
  8. This is exactly why I'm setting it at my parents house (should specify I don't live there lol) so it works as off-site backup for my PC. How hard is it to setup TrueNAS? I have an older PC I don't use anymore I could potentially make into storage server. Is there maybe a way for a hybrid setup and have snapshots in cloud or similar? I don't have financials for 2 NAS atm lol.
  9. I am in need of backup system. My idea was to set up a NAS at my parents house. What would you recommend for automatic backups of pictures, documents etc from 2 PCs and a mobile phone? I want it to be automatic and backup changes etc, but also assure that files are protected in case of a virus attack etc. I have been using Drive for backup so far, but got screwed twice (1. encryption virus, 2. disk failure) and in both cases, Google decided to remove the backup files the second they weren't accesible anymore. This is the use case I want to aviod. Any recommendations are wellcome.
  10. Hello all, I just got the biggest F-you from Google and I'm shocked. I've been using Google Drive as a backup for my personal stuff. Recently, my disk got corrupted. No problems, I have backups right? Wrong! I've been using Google Drive desktop app and it seems that if the app can't access a file, it considers it deleted and removes if from Drive. I specifically set it to "do not remove files in drive" but it seems this option was removed and now it just mirrors everything. But even if it does mirror all actions, why did it remove unaccesable/corrupted files?! I managed to get the data from the disk, and now it is resyncing everything again. Is this normal? If yes, please let me know so I can look for alternative asap!
  11. Hello all, I'm trying to find a decent but not too pricy printer to print art onto special canvas paper. The idea is to go for best possible color accuracy with printing and everyone suggest photo printers for such application. I know nothing about printers tho. I tried to look on Rtings but I couldn't find anything too useful as it's behind paywall. Most forums suggest Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 however it is way out of my budget. What I can find in my budget is: - Epson EcoTank Photo HD XP-15000 (300 eur) - Epson EcoTank ET-2810 (200 eur) - Epson EcoTank ET-4800 (290 eur) Anyone knows anything about these? I would like to stay within 200-300 eur range. Any other suggestions?
  12. Hello all, I've built my PC about 2 years ago and opted for 16 GB of RAM (2x 8GB), going for Crucial Ballistix RGB 3600 CL16 which fits well with my 5600x as well as my aesthetic (black - white build). I now have a need of more RAM and decided to buy another kit of same RAM and ... I can't find it anywhere. Seriously, this specific RAM just doesn't exist anywhere in EU. What are my options? Should I try to find something as close as possible? Something faster? Or should I swap it out completely. I know mix and match of RAM is not a great idea but I still want some suggestions.
  13. So I disabled SRS and just left the in-game FSR on and nothing really changed. Still extremely blurry, adding screenshot for example (standing still vs moving slowly). I am also not CPU limited (roughly 40% utilized).
  14. Yes RSR. I guess I'm an idiot, I'll turn it off and try again.
  15. I've looked at some youtube videos of FSR in Tarkov and it seems people got decent amount of FPS and no ghosting. I also shouldn't be CPU limited with 5600x however, I do notice most people use about 20GB of ram and I only have 16 so that is something I'll address and see if it makes a difference.
