  1. No luck. I guess somehow the CPU socket is damaged. I can't think of anything else to try except for buying a new one.
  2. Gonna take everything apart tonight and clean all the parts with compressed air. That would be the last step correct?
  3. My motherboard is an MSI x570 Carbon. I recently purchased a 5800x3d to upgrade from my 3900x for gaming. After installing the new CPU and attempting to boot the cpu light came on with no boot. I reseeded the cpu with the same results. Thinking I got a bad CPU I reinstalled the 3900x and then the CPU and Ram lights stayed on. I reseeded the ram with the same results. I then Installed just one Ram stick in the A2 slot and got a boot. I reinstalled the 5800x3d with the one Ram stick and also got a boot. I individually tried adding a second stick (I have four). I tried them all and only A1 & A2 are working. I checked both CPU's and have no bent or missing pins. I even tried with the cooler mount off wondering if the pressure was somehow uneven or too much. Any ideas? Or should I just buy a new one?
  4. I think in 3 years DDR5 and all the compatible components should drop in price.
  5. I've decided to buy it no matter what. I think there will be nothing better on AM4 for gaming. The question now. Buy it right now or wait until the the price drops even more. If it does. I know my used 3900x sale price will drop as time goes on, but I don't know that a new 5800x3d will drop anymore in price before they discontinue it. Currently when I factor in all the costs plus selling my old CPU It will cost me with tax $220.
  6. I definitely agree with you on that point. My goal is 60+fps and I tweak the settings until I achieve that goal which is currently very easy with my current CPU, GPU combo. I can always wait to buy especially if you think they'll continue to make them. Maybe the price will drop even further although so will the price for a used 3900x. Do you agree though that 5800x3d will be the last best cpu for gaming on AM4?
  7. I have definitely considered that point. I play at 1440p btw. My concern though is possibly needing to upgrade in a couple of years to continue to play AAA titles at high-ultra settings and not being able to find a 5800x3d. I have a feeling AMD kind of embarrassed themselves a little considering the 5800x3d seems to go toe to toe with the 7xxx series in gaming and I doubt they will be producing anymore.
  8. I have definitely watched many videos and the upgrade is considerable although everyone is benchmarking with a 3090ti. This would be my last upgrade on this Rig for the next 3 years unless I found a 3090ti dirt cheap.
  9. from what I understand to adopt the new Nvidia 4xxx series also requires a new psu.
  10. So I'm currently running a 3900x and I don't content create or anything like that which would utilize all the cores. I just game. All core over clock is 4.375 stable. At the time I thought the future of gaming was heading twoards more core usage, but fast forward 3 years later and 6‐8 cores are fine and honestly the 12400f with 4 cores is still a nice option on a budget. I've sunk probably over $2k in this PC and have no interest in upgrading to AM5, RTX 4xxx, and DDR5. At least not for a few years until the prices drop considerably. The best and last gaming CPU currently on AM4 is the 5800x3d. What do think? Is it worth it? I can get one right now for $376 brand new and sell my 3900x for $150-$200. According to Linus it seems to not only be competive against Alder Lake but also against the new Ryzen 7xxx series. Seems to me I'll get an almost new generational leap while still staying on AM4. Keep the 3900x or spend $200 on an upgrade? My Rig MSI x570 Carbon wifi Ryzen 3900x Gskills Trident Z 3600 32gb Evga RTX 3080 FTW 3 10gb
  11. Well if your trying to future proof your psu and want to remain cheap I suggest the Rosewill 1050w 80 plus Gold at $160. It has a 5 year warranty and with the 80 plus Gold rating it will run at 90% efficiency with 50% load with is probably all your system will draw anyway. That PSU will outlast your system. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NZCBTUK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_NAA18M132SKWVKRZ1EY8
  12. What does reasonable price mean to you? That's subjective.
  13. https://www.amd.com/en/support You said it's a new build. Don't worry I know it's a pain in the ass but it's should all be under warranty.
  14. Try to update your chipset as well if you haven't already.
  15. Honestly if you've already swapped out every part with known working parts then your mobo or CPU is bad. Before you give up try to update your bios.
  16. Honestly and I don't mean to sound condescending, but is your mic and audio turned off when you open Zoom? In the Zoom app? If it isn't have you tried a driver update from the manufacturers website?
  17. Go into Bios. What are your CPU temps? Do you have a crash error code when it blue screens?
  18. This topic is discussed on Overclockers. Seems like it would work. https://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/122263-Submerged-Chilled-Mineral-Oil-Pc
  19. Have you tried hooking the audio cable to your rear IO instead of the sound card?

    Temp

I can't explain all of that in a single paragraph. I suggest you read up on the topic. Here is a simple overview though. Starting with CPU you have your clock speed and your voltage. You can increase the clock speed without increasing your voltage, but your system will be come unstable so you increase voltage. This creates heat. You have to find the balance that works with your system. This is different for everybody and there are 100s of factors that go into it. I suggest you take the easy route and use 1usmus new software for AMD cpu's. Follow his instructions 100% https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/clocktuner-for-ryzen-ctr-guide-download,1.html Also Linus did a video on it. Graphics cards are way easier. Almost every graphics card can perform better then thier stock settings. Just like with your system CPU your GPU has a CPU as well. You can increase voltage, increase clock speed, and increase memory speed. The faster the clock speed and the faster the memory speed increases performace. Most people use a benchmark software that runs in a loop. I wouldn't touch your voltage it just increases heat and your GPU with thermal throttle. Start by increasing you memory 100mhz at a time until it starts to fail and then back it off by 50mhz. Do the same with you Core Clock, but do increments of 25mhz. Don't worry you can't break it. I hope this helps you get started on your journey.

    Temp

Your temps are fine and you have plenty of head room with your GPU. Normal CPU temps under load 70c-75c. Normal GPU temps under load 65c-75c. Have fun. Crank your graphics up and enjoy your 3070. If your worried about using Afterburner to OC your GPU then don't do it. Your stock settings will make you very happy either way. I would at least raise the power limit on your GPU to the max. It won't hurt a thing and will give you a little extra performance.
