  1. Thanks for the help guys, So I made sure to swap the slower one back into the 1,3 slots. I was expecting my motherboard to underclock the new RAM automatically, but turns out my MB was getting its memory settings from the higher speed sticks. The latency was also different (15-15-15-36 vs 17-17-17-39) so I went into the BIOS and set that manually. Seems stable now after a 1 hour stress test with Prime95. Anything else I should look out for?
  2. I'll switch 'em and report back. Thanks! The 2400 RAM's part # is: CT2K8G4DFS824A The 2133 RAM's part # is: CT2K8G4DFD8213
  3. I had my old RAM in slots 1 and 3 and then added the new RAM into slots 2 and 4. Currently everything on my BIOS is using automatic settings/defaults with one exception. I changed the profile from Enhance Stability to Normal to see if that worked. Doesn't seem to have helped. I think I recall them both being at 2133 in the BIOS this morning. I will see if increasing the voltage works. I'm assuming the best way to slowly increase it through trial and error?
  4. Hello everyone, I upgraded my RAM last night from 2x8GB sticks to 4x8GB sticks and I am now experiencing instability and crashes (BSOD). The error varies (system_thread_exception or KMode Exception among other things), but either way the PC doesn't stay on for long. I've tried running the PC with just the old RAM and just the new RAM, and in both cases the system posts. Have not tried running the new RAM on its own for stability yet. I tried changed the profile of the RAM in my BIOS from "Enhance Stability" to "Normal" and it seemed to work a bit better, but then again it still crashed after I tried to shut down Prime 95 after 10 minutes. I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot very much yet, but any help you could give me would be much appreciated. Here are some of my system specs: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Processor Gigabyte GA-Z170M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Crucial 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2133 Memory (These are my old RAM modules -- worked like a charm until the upgrade) Crucial 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory (There are the new modules) EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6 GB GAMING Video Card Thanks in advance for the help!
