DOOM4343's Achievements

  1. Linus you should redo this with the same kind of idea of the whole room cooling, but use the fridge as the radiator instead of the roof. Everything else would be in the ambient room temperature. plus having a smaller loop that's closer to the cold refrigerated rad might make a big difference.

  7. I keep mine in my living room. It slowly turned into the family computer even though it's my main gaming setup. Kids took over! Lol
  8. Man I would slap that bad boy into an Asus x99 Deluxe if I won, and take the dough I saved for a GTX 970 !
  9. I would keep the 290x and buy an aftermarket cooler or wait to see how much the 290x and 970 8GB cards cost. SLI for the 970 would be a good buy if you plan on doing 4k gaming or crazy eyefinity.
  10. Man You are really limiting the power of a GTX 970 with a 1080p monitor. I would def look at a 1440p monitor but that's a personal preference and budget thing. maybe check out a cheaper Korean 1440p AH-VA monitor like the qnix and try overclocking it. (Never used one so not sure of the actual overclocking results or overall picture quality). For 1080p I would look at Ben Q Or Asus.
  11. California games for Commodore 64. Man I feel like an old fart, Lol!
  12. When DOOM first came out I would hang out at Radio Shack playing it and begged my mom to buy a $2000 IBM just for that game. My mom bought it later that year for the family but most likely to shut me up.
  13. I bought a new desktop from a local best buy.(which I found out was about $150-$200 more expensive than other stores that sold the same model!) Then later that week bought a lions head rabbit for my kids birthday. Came home from work the next day and tried to wake up my computer up by using mouse or keyboard only to find out the damn rabbit chewed threw every peripheral's cord in the back! Learned two valuable lessons that week.
  14. Yeah it sounds like it might if died. I don't know how much a mobile gpu cost especially from dell but if it's over $300 your better off starting a desktop unless you absolutely need the portability of a laptop.
  15. I would try to back up as much as you can, remove the hard drive then try running your OS off your ssd for a couple days to see if it stops freezing. I would Def. check all power and sata connectors and keep a close eye on temps before even trying that. Good luck!!
